Whoops, forgot to actually set the clock...it's ticking now.
I actually like OP's suggestion with the robot. He definitely looks like some sort of Professional Killer (I would've admittedly thought he could be a Mecha-Mook from the first image alone, but the second makes it clear he's got personality), and the second image shows the "having a heart" part (with added literal Licked by the Dog).
