Discussion thread. Roleplay thread.

Introduction

Welcome to Beacon City!

It's the home of the future! It's the only place where you can catch a musical and go see the latest invention by Stark Industries right on the same night. It's the only place where you have night-long parties and mystical séances happening at the same time. It's a place where the future shows up on your doorstep, and you can't help but open the door for it. Politics, money, technology, entertrainment... all of it can be found on the city that never sleeps, the city that shines bright with its century-old plain white lighthouse, the Queen Bertha, watching its shores and taking care of its citizens.

Ever since its creation, Beacon City was a place of progress. Back on the era of the founding fathers, it was there that many soldiers reunited to defeat the British and defend their city. Back on a time before the Civil War, life-changing laws were written on Beacon City, giving birth to many of its museums and libraries. But most importantly, back during the Second World War, Beacon City was the base of operations for America's heroes, people who could fly, who could destroy tanks with a punch, people who gave America hope that there would be a great big beautiful tomorrow... only to disappear into the history books as the war ended, becoming legends that still live to this day.

And now, in the modern era, it is time for Beacon City to be a place of change once more. For this city will become the birthplace to a new era of heroes and villains. Men and women who will soar through the skies, wage epic battles and create new stories... stories that will be told all throughout the universes. Will you be part of these stories?

General Info

Welcome to Beacon City, a Superhero Crossover RP. What's the idea behind this RP? It all takes place in an universe where characters from animes, TV shows, books, movies, cartoons, well, basically anything, are re-imagined as superheroes and supervillains, living in Beacon City, a New York-like place home to people like Tony Stark and Oliver Queen.

Some information about this universe: Beacon City takes place in an universe that's the result of the Marvel and DC universes being merged, which means that SHIELD, Bruce Wayne, and all those famous characters exist in this universe. However, since I want everyone to take part in the creation of this world, there aren't that many heroes and villains out there. So, for example, while Batman is active in Gotham, Iron Man, Superman, Green Lantern, Thor, the Hulk, Wonder Woman and many others still haven't appeared.

While the players can certainly take characters from comic books, I'd like to say right now that I'm going to be holding back all the 'bigwig' Marvel and DC characters, because I'd like to control their introductions to the RP and not flood it with comic book characters, making it a copy of the Justice Avengers RP, which is a comic book-only crossover. The focus is mostly on characters from other media being reinvented as superheroes/supervillains, but you can still use less well-known comic book characters.

And before I move onto the sheet, remember: don't be afraid to reinvent! Even if your character is from a modern setting, make some changes, have some fun creating his superhero/supervillain origin story.

  • Name: CEL, doesn't really like it though.
  • Real Name: Komeiji Koishi (Koishi is her given name)
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Unknown, does not age physically. Appears to be a human teen, barring some of her features.
  • Alignment: Villain, motives are so far unknown.
  • Appearance:
    Here's an alternative picture
  • Personality: Normally doesn't have one, has gained motives and memories in recent time however. She prefers stealth and subtlety, she will act quite innocent and airheaded, in the rare cases she actually interacts with those around her.
  • Powers: Can manipulate the subconscious of people around her, being able to bring forth anything there. She is able to completely mask her own presence as well, and will neither be noticed nor remembered unless she herself wants to be noticed. One will still automatically forget about her though, unless one has knowledge about her prior to meeting her. Can manifest roses, and can extend the cords around her for attack. Can also send out hearts as magic projectiles and search for people with her mind. Can also fly, and take surprising amounts of damage.
  • Abilities: She is deceptively strong, but only at the level of a human in peak physical condition. Beings who specialize in physical might will be able to take her down without any major problems, though it may take time, as she is quite tough and nimble. She is also extremely skilled at dodging, particularly projectiles, less so with melee attacks.
  • Weapons/Equipment: Nothing.
  • Possessions: Though she does not own it, she spends an inordinate amount of time at the top of Queen Bertha, spending her nights underneath it's warm and welcoming light. The workers never notice her.
  • Origin: The beginning of her life is so far unknown. However, it is known that she has been wandering aimlessly for quite some time, her abilities ensuring that she could travel unmolested. After an accident involving a melted down person's soul being injected into her, she has wanted to become a villain. However, the desire is not particularly strong, but the lack of conflicting desires makes it rather prevalent nonetheless.

Name: Sonic the Hedgehog
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Alignment: Hero
Appearance: The Blue Blur
Powers:

  • Super Speed: What the Blue Hedgehog is famous for! The fastest he can go casually is 150 miles per hour, and is pushing himself he can go up to 300. While he says he can possibly break the sound barrier, there has not been a time he has actually done this, though no one actually doubts that he can.......
  • Physical Capabilities:
    • Superhuman Reaction Time and Reflexes
    • Enhanced Physical Durability
    • Very low level super strength
    • Superhuman agility
    • Enhanced Jumping ability
  • Super Durable Quills: Unique among hedgehog are his quills are strong enough to cut and smash through steel if he is going fast enough while inside a ball.
  • Harnessing Chaos Energy: Currently, Sonic is one of the extremely few individuals on the planet known to be able to safely harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds directly into his body all at once.
    • Super Sonic: A superpowered form that Sonic can access , and is capable of speeds twice the speed of sound and gives off a fiery aura which can destroy inorganic matter that touches him instantly, gives the power of flight, and allows him to survive in extremely harsh environments, such as underwater, in radioactive hot zones, and even safely travel through space. Rarely, however, does he actually need to resort to this and so far has only done so on two or three occasions. He is also suspectible to being hit by powerful enough blows of kinetic energy, such as missile fire, and he needs a steady supply of rings in order to maintain his form.

Abilities:

  • Rolling: Natural hedgehog's ability to roll into a ball. However, as well as Sonic's super durable quills, Sonic takes the rolling a few steps further.
    • Spin Dash: Curls up into a ball and revs himself up while on the ground, gaining power and momentum. Once release, Sonic shoots out like a bullet, smashing through obstacles in his way and gaining speeds far faster than when he usually runs.
    • Homing Attack: While in the air, he can home in and smash targets at great distances, even chaining together hits if possible.
    • Insta-Shield: Produces a split second burst of deflective energy that can block any projectile attack at comes his way. However, the timing has to be very precise.
  • Super Peel-Out: Similar to the spin dash, Sonic runs in place at incredibly speeds and then launch himself forward. While this gives him a burst of speed, this move is not as effective as the Spin Dash and he uses it mostly to show-off.
  • Light Speed Dash: Allow him to move at the speed of light when there is a chain of rings in front of him. However, he cannot control where he is going while doing this dash and completely at the mercy of the ring placement.
  • Martial Arts: Despite having zero formal training, Sonic is a master at hand-to-hand combat, mostly incorporating break dancing moves into his own self-taught fighting style. While it can easily overpower most opponents, it can easily be countered by more experienced, formally taught opponents.
  • Super Stomp: While in the air, Sonic can slam himself straight down onto the down with forces capable of smashing clean through thin material, including wood.

Weapons/Equipment: The only piece of equipment Sonic has or even needs are his specially designed running sneakers, custom made to withstand the abuse of the constant running Sonic does and allows his to grind on almost every surface imaginable, just as long as its pole shaped.

Personality: Sonic is a free spirit with a deep sense of adventure, always running to meet new people and see new places. He is a very sociable type, always wanting to make new friends but he tends to get cocky about his own abilities and never turns down a speed based challenge. He is rather impulsive, which has gotten him in trouble more than a few times, and can seem constantly impatient, though the latter is because other are just going too slow for his tastes. While Sonic is always willing to lend a helping hand and is pretty easy going and laid back, there are two things that really angers him the most: Harming others unduly, and oppression. The hedgehog will go in and mess up the instigator if he sees either due to a strong sense of justice within him as well. Sonic also has an intense fear of being submerged, almost laughably so.

Possessions: Though it may not look like it, Sonic does have a hefty back account, due to gaining royalties received after his Uncle Chuck sold some of prototypes of Sonic's special shoes to a company named SOAP, a subsidiary of Wayne Tech Enterprises. Even with all of his money, the speedster doesn't really care about it anyway. He prefers to sleep outside anyway and only ever really go indoors when invited and/or during heavy weather. Currently he's plans to crash at one of the many workshops his buddy Tails owns, located in a field on the outskirts of the city. He also plans to DJ at some of the city's clubs during his downtime. He also has a smartphone to keep in contact with all of his friends and acquaintences.

Origin: Ten years ago in South Island, one of the many secluded congregations of the Mobian race, a collection of various humanoid animals, and one of the last to fully interact with the outside world, was hit with a terrible hurricane. During this time, Sally Acorn, the daughter of the royal family, was out looking for her pet dog while her parents and servants were frantically looking for her. By the time they realized she was outside in the middle of the hurricane, Sally had already found her dog. Unfortunately, a lightening bolt came down on her! Or would have, if something had not shoved her out of the way and took the hit instead.

The person who did miraculously survived the lightening strike was found to be a young male blue furred hedgehog. He was soon treated and, at the bequest of the king, Maximillian Acorn, was later adopted by his good friend and royal tinkerer Charles, whom the child called Uncle Chuck. He was eventually named Sonic as an idea by Sally.

Fast forward eight years. Sonic grows up to be an athletic and healthy teenager, raised well by Charles, and has become good friends to both Sally Acorn and the rest of the royal family. Sonic was one of the cool kids, mostly due to a combination of his super speed, courage, and sociable. He especially loved hanging out with the family's head scientist Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik, much to the chargin of Robotnik's nephew Snively.

However, Sonic and his friends were completely ignorant to the political turmoil hiding behind the scenes. Ever since the 1950's the House of Acorn has been trying to institute advanced technology to the then Medieval society of South Island, the king at the time Frederick Acorn becoming inspired by the great heroes at the time, such as Captain America and the Flash, and of tales of a wondrous place called Beacon City. His efforts and the efforts of his descendents were mixed, however, as some technologies were welcomed openly while others completely shunned, while there were Mobians who were completely against the idea of human technology within their society. The loudest of these dissenters were those in the Ministries of Magic and War respectively*

. This finally reached its boiling point when Maximillian Acorn announced that South Island would officially open its doors to outsiders and had began talks of joining the United Nations, which, if accepted, would make it the last Mobian civilization to be fully integrated with the rest of the planet's governments.

This caused dissenters to go into an absolute uproar. Almost a weak later, the Minister of War, a skunk named Ian St. John, staged a coup against the royal family, planning to execute them and reinstitute South Island's isolationist status and declaring war on any who wish to come upon the island, especially humans. But almost right after the coup began, it was immediately quashed when Dr. Robotnik initiated a hostile takeover of the entire island, unveiling a massive army of robots he had been building ever since he started working for the House of Acorn. After taking over the island, he initiated his own plans of using the island as his main base of operations, renaming the island Robotnikland, for his plans of world domination!

Sally Acorn, Sonic, and several Mobians managed to escape into the Knothole Forest while the rest of the population were rounded up and either forced to work for Robotnik in his factories to build up his impending army or forced to convert their businesses to serve his future empire; killed for actively trying to oppose him; or worst of all, thrown into his dreaded Roboticizer, a horrid machine Robotnik used against those he particularly despised that transformed the victims into mindless, soulless androids who are programmed to forever serve the madman. Very few of the those who escaped Robotnik's wrath had the courage to actually stand up against the scientist's regime, and they banded together to become a group of Freedom Fighters to strike at the Robotnik empire. Led by Sally Acorn, the only surviving member of the Royal Family, and spear headed by Sonic, the Freedom Fighter managed to strike a decisive blow against Robotnik after a whole year of guerilla warfare, forcing the scientist to flee from the island and bringing peace back to South Island.

While offered a position of leadership in South Island's new government, Sonic declined, deciding to opt instead to pursue Robotnik, to make sure he does not succeed in conquering the world like he did with South Island. In truth though, the hedgehog used Robotnik as an excuse to travel the world.......

For the next two years, Sonic the Hedgehog traveled around the planet, having met all sorts of new people and having been to every continent at least once. During his many adventures, he has gained many a true friend. They include Miles "Tails" Prower, a two tailed fox who is a child prodigy who's genius even surpasses Robotnik's; Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog fangirl who always loves to chase around the Blue Blur and wants to marry him; Knuckles the Echidna, Guardian of Angel Island and its Master Emerald; and, surprisingly, billionaire Bruce Wayne, whom the hedgehog unintentionally rescued from the Batman's greatest foe the JokerRiddler.

And while Robotnik, now commonly referred to by his middle name Eggman, has and will always be seen as Sonic's greatest villain, Sonic has amassed his own Rogue's Gallery during his two years of travel with varying levels of danger to the hedgehog. They include Grimer, a slimy roboticist who is constantly jealous of the work of others; Ixis Naugus, former Minister of Magic for the House of Acorn turned super villain who wants to world domination as much as Eggman; the Brotherhood of Metallix, a cult made of various failed robotic clones of Sonic; bounty hunters Sleet and Dingo, hired directly by Robotnik to hunt down Sonic; the Iron Queen, a powerful socorress who manages to combination her arcane magics with digital technology; and lastly, Metal Sonic, an evil robotic copy of Sonic himself and quite possibly his most dangerous villain to date.

Sonic eventually became a world famous hero, though mostly recognizable in Japan, the United States, and Northern Europe, and certainly not to the levels as either Batman or the heroes of yore. He has also become a source of inspiration among the Mobian race, few going as far as calling him the Mobian Captain America. Sonic himself takes it all in stride though, never letting the fame bog him down from traveling the world.

While Sonic has been to Beacon City before, he comes back to the city, mostly to revel in the excitement of the increased villain activity there. Officially though he's looking to confirm a hot tip Sally received concerning her long lost older brother actually living there. What Sonic's hoping though is that Robotnik would try something in Beacon City. It has been a while since the whole Station Square fiasco........

  • Name: Azula
  • Real Name: Azula
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 19
  • Alignment: Villain
  • Appearance: Beauty is on the eyes of the beholder. (looks slightly older)
  • Personality: Azula is a psychotic violent girl, who has long lost her grasp on sanity, as can be evidenced not only by her delusions and hallucinations, but also by her constant smile. But don't think that Azula is a drooling hyena who can't take two steps without banging her head on the wall, no. She's actually very capable of rational thought (except it follows her twisted logic) and is a very cunning manipulator, knowing the right thing to say at the right moment. And while, yes, she's violent, she's never prone to exaggerated acts of violence, taking more enjoyment out of more focused acts of violence. She's driven by a thirst of revenge and copious amounts of jealousy. Azula's very prideful, which means one can easily distract her by using the right word to poke the right sides of her backstory and get her full attention.
  • Powers: Firebending. Azula has a mutation that allows her the ability to bend fire to her will. This is used in combination with martial arts moves, which allows her to shoot fire from her hands, feet, and also use it as jets, giving her a way to propell herself into the sky and fly for a small time. Azula has also mastered two stronger tipes of firebending: blue fire, which can only be achieved by someone who gives in to her rage, and lightningbending, which gives her the ability to shoot lightning out of her fingertips.
  • Abilities Martial arts prowess and expert knowledge of economics, politics and every kind of knowledge that goes into running a company.
  • Weapons/Equipment: Has an extense arsenal of knives on her belt which she uses for more personal fights.
  • Posessions: A large amount of money that goes not only into buying weapons and equipment for her and her goons, but also stelaing banks.
  • Origin:
    • Azula comes from a family of nobles who travelled to Beacon City from China during the 1900s, quickly making their way to the top of the military industry thanks to the two World Wars that took place in the early part of the century. Always striding for innovation, her family were always the first investors when it came to new technologies, which led to the current leader of the family, Sozin, visiting the Manhattan Project and watching the tests of the first atomic bombs. This visit led to him being exposed to small amounts of radiation which, normally, wouldn't do anything to a normal human- but on Sozin, they modified a single gene in his body, giving him a mutation that allowed him to control fire. Calling this art 'firebending', the next generations were born with it, and Sozin made sure that they would practice this art while always keeping it a secret. He also started searching for more firebenders, filling the board of directors and the executive seats with people that shared his mutation.
    • Azula's family maintained their position at the top of the industry, eventually branching out into other kinds of technology. In the tail end of the 90s, Azula was born, and, unlike her brother Zuko, quickly displayed a gift not only when it came to firebending (perfecting most of the basic moves while she was still a child) but also economics, politics, English, martial arts and more. Her father, Ozai, would always state in family dinners how Azula was born lucky, whilst Zuko was lucky to be born. It's obvious she was going to be the next leader of the family's company. But Azula was never happy, because her mother preferred Zuko. She didn't understand: she was the best of the two, and yet she liked the weakling? She developed a deep hatred for her mother, a hatred which wasn't satisfied even after she disappeared one stormy September night.
    • During her teenage years, the War on the Middle East happened, which meant that the military side of her family's company got right back into action. Once he was thirteen, Zuko, as the oldest child, was invited to a meeting betwen Ozai, the executives, and some military top-brass regarding operations and the next batch of equipment. But when he complained about certain choices made not only by his father, but also the military, Zuko quietly challenged one of the executives to an Agni Kai, a type of duel created by Sozin based on the old traditions of the family. However, when the day of the duel came, it was revealed that Zuko would fight Ozai, as his complaint was seen as an offense to him. Zuko tried to appeal to his father, but he ended up burning half of Zuko's face.
    • Ozai, much to Azula's delight, procceeded to banish Zuko not only from the company and any money associated to it, but from their house, ordering him to spend the rest of his days with his Uncle Iroh, who had decided not to go into the family business. Zuko decided to pursue a legend that Sozin had heard on his first days in Beacon City- the legend of a person who had a gene that allowed him or her to not only bend fire, but also the three other elements. Zuko believed that if he were to find a way to obtain this power, he would regain his honor and be accepted back into the family.
    • All went well for Azula, until news came that Zuko had actually found someone with the miraculous 'Avatar' gene, and Azula was sent to find him and to get the gene before he did. And so began a chase around the world, in which Azula was joined by her two 'friends', rich bussinessman's daughters, Ty Lee and Mai. She fought many battles against her brother and his newfound friends, and the chase slowly started to wear on her sanity, as seeing her brother again brought up her problems with her mother. Azula became more obsessed with finding and killing Zuko, to the point where her own friends betrayed her. This cat and mouse game took place for less than a year, yet when she returned, Azula looked three years older, and could barely concentrate on anything else anymore.
    • That was the less her worries, as Zuko soon returned, having changed objectives during his travels. With the help of a girl who possessed the 'Avatar' gene, he collected evidence on many crimes committed by his father during his stay as president of the family company. Using this evidence, his father was arrested, and his mutation was revealed, so he was placed in a prison he couldn't escape from. Azula was deemed too mentally unstable to take over the company, and so Zuko became the new president. His first act was to put Azula in a hospital for the mentally unstable, the best in all the USA, so she could be taken care of. Azula saw this as treason of the highest order, and swore revenge on her brother, for destroying her life, her father, and the company, which now was losing credibility and value thanks to the reveal of the family's hidden mutation.
    • Whilst in the hospital, Azula used her firebending and smart thinking to escape, even after the doctors gave her 'special treatment' considering her mutation. Out in the world, she went to a hidden vault that belonged to her father, taking not only money, but also ceremonial robes that once belonged to her mother. As she dressed up, she thought it'd only be reasonable to go all the way, and started putting on makeup, which in the end made her look more like a deranged clown than a noble. Using all that money, she has now started a life as a super criminal, comitting crimes left and right as her thirst for revenge has turned her into someone who wants to watch Zuko, Beacon City and the world burn.

Hm...If you PM me what Zuko did while he was off looking for the Avatar (and what happened when he did), I can kind of try to build my own backstory around it. It'll be good to have an Arch-nemesis right off the bat. I'll have my sheet posted as soon as I can get the backstory worked out.

Name: Son of Poseidon (Name subject to change)

Real Name: Perseus "Percy" Jackson

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Alignment: Hero

Appearance: Percy is a very handsome young man with sea-green eyes and black hair both gotten from his father Poseidon. Percy is relatively fit and lean for his age due to the athletic training needed to survive as a demigod. Percy is also said to smell like the sea, most likely due to either his heritage or the constant soaking he gets in battle due to his hydrokinesis.

Personality: Percy is brave, spirited and a natural leader. However he has a very sarcastic sense of humor, a laid-back demeanor and has a very short temper. Percy is true to his word however this leads to him blaming himself for anything that goes wrong. Many consider him brave and rebellious but also dumb and obtuse. He isn't as dumb as he seems however though his obtuse nature and him usually acting dumb doesn't help that. Percy can also be derisive in his sarcasm and he hates being manipulated or forced to obey. Percy also has a massive personal flaw of personal loyalty. Quoth Athena "To save a friend, you would sacrifice the world." This is a trait normally manipulated by his foes for family, loved ones and close friends in general.

Powers: Percy's powerset as a son of Poseidon is varied. When in contact with or in the presence of water, Percy gains more strength, clarity, speed and agility and also heals from most wounds and poison when submerged in the water. However these effects are temporary. Percy also has Hydrokinesis in order to submerge himself in water and use it to heal wounds. Percy also can propel himself through the water with his hydrokinesis. Percy also can breathe underwater and make oxygen bubbles for his friends, can fall into water from any height as well as be unaffected by water pressure. Lastly he is resistant to heat though it will cause him pain and burns over time, can speak to horses and aquatic life as well as having divine authority over them and the ability to naturally know how to operate any sea craft as well as find his bearings at sea. However as a Demigod he gives off a strong "scent" monsters can detect meaning that mythological beasts are prone to attacking Percy due to his very strong scent as a son of Poseidon.

Abilities: Like many Demigods, he has ADHD to keep him prepared for battle and dyslexia due to his brain being wired to read Ancient Greek. Percy is also an expert swordsman and a natural at it as well as being mostly a solo fighter. Lastly Percy has above average strength to at least the extent of being able to rip off a Minotaur's horn.

Weapons/Equipment: Covered in possessions as Riptide and his powers are his main ways of crime-fighting.

Possessions: Percy is currently carrying a few drachams that when thrown into generated rainbows, give him the ability to make an "Iris Message" to anyone he knows and wishes to speak to as long as Iris can find them. Besides this, Percy's main possession is his sword "Anaklusmos" or Riptide. Riptide is normally disguised as a ballpoint pen but when uncapped, it turns into a 3-foot double-edged sword made of Celestial Bronze. Celestial Bronze itself is deadly to those of the magical world such as Egyptian magicians, demigods and gods. However it does no damage to regular mortals and possibly Supers without a magical or godly origin. Riptide will also always return to Percy's pocket. Other than that and a backpack of camping supplies (including ambrosia and nectar for healing) and food, Percy currently doesn't have much on him.

Origin: Percy was raised by his single mother and had no grandparents as his mother's parents died when she was five. Poseidon left when Percy was a baby in order to protect him especially as the scent monsters detect does not come until the powers manifest in early teens. Strange things happened to Percy during his youth and he was expelled from six schools in six years. After a while he was sent to a school for children with disorders like his who also are "troublemakers" and things like that. At 12 his math teacher turned out to be a Fury attacking him and looking for Zeus's lightning bolt. From there Chiron told him the truth and his best friend Grover, (A satyr) helped escort him to Camp High-Blood, a camp hidden from mortals on Long Island meant to help Demigods train and learn to fight and survive. He then helped retrieve Zeus's lightning bolt which was stolen by another camper Luke who is working to revive Kronos. From there he did many quests helping to protect the Camp and stop Luke from raising Kronos while learning about a great Prophecy giving him a Dangerous 16th Birthday. He is in Beacon City by himself as part of a quest as well to see if he can find Luke, stop Kronos and hopefully make it so the prophecy doesn't come to pass. (We don't need to cover any of that Kronos and prophecy stuff in the RP, to be honest I'd prefer if we didn't.)

@Joergen I personally actually have an issue with the One Ring thing. I think making it so you're basically playing Sauron and not the character neuters the point of picking that character and I still don't like the idea of having her have it or having it involved in the plot at all. Of course that's just a personal objection.

  • Personality: Morph likes to have fun. He likes to make jokes and pull pranks, but he knows when not to. He is a bit more reserved than he used to be, partially due to growing more mature and partially caused by former trauma. This can also lead to occasional bouts of depression.
  • Powers: Kevin Sydney is a mutant metamorph with the ability to alter his physical appearance and voice at will (similiar to Clayface). His shapeshifting ability allows him to change into many forms, including people, animals, and some objects; although, the more different his form is from his original the more it causes fatigue and requires concentration, so he cannot remain in some forms indefinitely. Due to his shapeshifting ability he does not wear any actual clothing, and he enjoys other's reactions when pointing this out. Morph's mutation to shape-shift has also made it so his body is a Play-doh-like substance and he can reattach limbs after they have been severed; however, it still hurts to get cut or torn. He is able to levitate and fly at a slow pace. Transforming into flying animals allows him to take better advantage of his flying ability. On a downside, his power gives him a fast metabolism. If he is exposed to the cold, it is more difficult to change form, and getting electrocuted prevents him from forming a cohesive shape. Also, dogs don't react to him well, because he doesn't smell "right."
  • Abilities: Kevin Sydney is a skilled actor, and a highly trained and efficient organizer of subversive activities. Though Morph is a prankster who downplays his intelligence, he is deceptively smart. He has a degree in computer engineering, which he earned at Xavier's Institute. He also learned a little bit of martial arts he was taught at the Institute. He is also good with children, having taken care of his siblings when he was a young teen.
  • Weapons/Equipment: Nothing too fancy; he doesn't need much when it comes to weaponry. He does carry a pair of handcuffs if he wants to hold someone for the police. He also has a gun that he rarely uses.
  • Possessions: He is a freelance computer technician which gives him a decent income and allows a flexible schedule. He has an apartment and a motorcycle. He has a gun that he doesn't use much. He also has a smartphone and a desktop at his disposal. He doesn't really have any more than the average city dweller.
  • Origin:
    • Born Kevin Sydney on July 10, 1981 to Robert and Christina Sydney. He was their first son. His mutant powers manifested themselves at an early age, especially for a mutant. His parents accepted him anyway; although, it could cause some strife. He was homeschooled for a few years, until he could control his powers well enough.
    • When he was ten years old, and his brother and sister were three and one, respectively, his father died in a car accident. This devastated his family, especially since his father was more accepting of his powers than his mother and he was much closer to Kevin. Left single, his mother took two jobs. This left Kevin to raise his two siblings. They struggled during these years.
    • When Kevin graduated high school, he was overjoyed. After a week, a letter came in the mail from Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. He was offered a scholarship there. With such a prestigious school taking notice of him, he jumped at the chance to go. Soon after he got there, he learned it was a school for mutants, which caused him to be happy and apprehensive at the same time. He soon learned to fit in and did fairly decently in schoolwork; although he got in trouble a fair amount.
    • After his time at the institute, he joined the X-men. He went on missions with them sometimes, and was a fairly good team member. On mission, he was captured and brainwashed over several weeks into betraying the X-men. The plan eventually failed and the X-men helped him recover. He left afterwards, because he was too ashamed to be part of the team again. He has put his degree to use at his job and has a fairly normal life (considering the circumstances), even though he fights crime on the side.

  • (I can change this if need be.)

Hope this is not too overpowered. If you want, I can nerf him.

  • Name: Count Dracula
  • Real Name: Vladimir Dracula
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 500 (appears in his early twenties)
  • Alignment: Villain
  • Appearance: A slender and young Bishounen male with jet black hair, purple eyes, and pale skin, Dracula is a vampire. He wears a lot of elegant gothic clothing, particularly a black cape, black suit jacket, light gray Victorian dress shirt, black pants, black boots, a silver amulet, a broad-brimmed black hat, and sunglasses.
  • Personality: Dracula is a paradox, at times he can be charming, other times he can be bestial and repulsive. He is beautiful on the exterior, but a cold-hearted sociopathic monster in the end. He cares for economic advancement and power within Beacon City and hopes to make it an abode for the Undead, and will work with anyone he can to achieve that means.
  • Powers: As a vampire, Dracula has the following abilities and weaknesses....
    • Vampiric Powers
      • Enhanced Physical Abilities: As an elder vampire, Dracula has three times the strength, speed, and endurance of a healthy, physically fit human.
      • Regeneration: As a vampire, he can regenerate from wounds so long as he has human blood in his system. He must feed to replenish his supply, and when he runs out of blood in his system, he cannot regenerate.
      • Heightened Senses: He has twice the strength of sight, hearing, and smell than an average human.
      • Claws and Fangs: Dracula can turn his hands into sharp claws to attack opponents with, though to turn his hands into sharp claws requires the expenditure of human blood in his system, and the longer the claws are out, the more blood is used.
      • Black Magic: Although not inherently a vampire ability, Dracula has studied the occult and learned some destruction and necromancy spells. His spells are...
        • Magic Missile: Casts a ball of destructive energy to damage foes. Limited in range and not always fatal, but can cause injury to most living beings
        • Acid Arrow: Casts a jet of acid upon the target, severely wounding it.
        • Death's Cold Grip: Can make his fists into hard fists of ice and inflict freezing damage upon opponents.
        • Summon Zombie: This basic act of Necromancy allows him to summon a mindless undead servant to use as a bodyguard or as cannon fodder. He can only summon one at a time, unless he has corpses nearby. This requires blood to be spent, and summoning more than three zombies can run the risk of draining his blood completely.
    • Vampiric Weaknesses
      • Sunlight is fatal. He will burst into flames in broad daylight, leaving only a pile of ashes, forcing him to travel by night.
      • The need to feed. Dracula is a vampire and must subsist only on blood. Human blood gives him full nourishment, and while animal blood can be a temporary sustainment, it neither tastes good nor is it as replenishing as human blood.
      • Dracula is weak against fire. Fire is one of the most effective ways to kill a vampire.
      • A wooden stake through the heart can paralyze him completely and render him comatose.
      • Dracula is extremely weak against those possessing White Magic or True Faith. If a truly devout and good-hearted person of any faith uses the symbol of their faith against him, he will be turned away and rebuked. Even atheists and agnostics who are pure of heart can rebuke him in the name of humanity for similar effect.
  • Abilities: Dracula is a competent occult scholar and a decent swordfighter. He knows how to operate a firearm, but he is not an expert marksman by any stretch of the imagination.
  • Weapons/Equipment: Dracula travels around with a Cane-Sword, a Revolver, a Smartphone, Lots of cash on hand, and an old Rolls-Royce luxury sedan.
  • Possessions: A large Gothic-looking house on the outskirts of town and a sizeable amount of wealth, seeing as he is aristocracy.
  • Origin: Originally a young Romanian Prince who fought against the Ottoman Turks, Vlad Dracula sought to extend his power and wealth, and through his own greed, was led to undeath and damnation. He encountered a powerful vampire sorceress named Morgan La Fey, and she taught him black magic and embraced him into vampirism. Their relationship was cut short as Morgan was killed by a powerful werewolf chieftain, and Dracula had to continue his quest to obtain more power and create an undead empire. However, an attempt to extend into London in 1897 was foiled due to the work of the vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, and his Romanian holdings were liquidated and destroyed during the communist takeover in the 20th Century, and so Dracula had to take his wealth and flee to America, sealed in a coffin aboard a freighter ship. Now he has rebuilt a sizeable portion of his wealth and power, though it is not what it used to be. Dracula seeks to establish an undead empire and achieve an Endless Night, where the sun never shines, society is ruled by the Undead, and humans only exist as cattle for vampires to feed off of.

You're quite welcome, Strato.smile Now for my idea:

  • Name: Merlin
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Seems around his seventies, though could potentially be far older.
  • Alignment: Good
  • Appearance: Just ignore the fox for now
  • Personality: A kindly, grandfatherly old figure, Merlin might seem a bit kooky, maybe even absent minded, and it sometimes takes a bit of time for his brain to catch up with his ears. However, Merlin is an intellectual at heart who strongly values education, and applying mind over muscle. He has a bit of a blustering temper to him, and often lacks patience with the world around him, but he deeply cares about helping those he cares about, and putting them at ease. Still, at his age he doesn't care too much for swashbuckling superheroism, and prefers to use his powers for education. If he sees a young soul that needs setting in the right direction, then he'll dedicate himself to the task. Using every last trick in the trade, if he has to...
  • Powers: Merlin, as you no doubt have guessed, is an aficionado in the magical arts, claiming to be the most powerful wizard. All the same, he's far from all-powerful, and is adamant that magic won't solve all your problems.
    • Transfiguration: The most frequently used spell-set in his arsenal, Merlin is able to transform himself or others into animals. All one or the other has to do is imagine the target as an animal, and the magic will do the rest. Because of this, the animal will often resemble the person in some way, being the colour of their clothes and retaining facial features, and the person won't have automatically have the instincts of the animal. This shapeshifting is Merlin's main offensive tactic, and he would most often use it to outwit an enemy, rather than bludgeoning it. A more limited version of transformation can also be used for a quick change of clothes.
    • Disapparation: On a whim, Merlin can vanish in a puff of smoke, seemingly shrinking to nothing in a second. The only remaining part of his presence would be his voice, echoing in the air. He can reappear just as suddenly as he vanished, or merely fade in some twinkling lights.
    • Animation: Almost everything Merlin owns can move of its own accord, or when he bids it to do so. The inanimate objects could even float through the air if he wanted them to.
    • Weather Manipulation: Merlin has the rarely used ability to simulate weather conditions. He can summon a small snowstorm, indoors, in the middle of summer, or move in the middle of a little whirlwind if he needs to make a dramatic entrance.
    • Shrinking: Even rarer used is the ability to shrink inanimate objects to a minuscule size. This changing spell seems to only work with objects that he's manipulating to float through the air, though it may also be connected to his disapparation spell.
    • Limited Clairvoyance/Time Travel: Merlin has the ability to see into the far future, and has even visited there from time to time, only to return in a flash. This clairvoyance can only go so far, however. When he leaves for the future, he sees to come back after around the same period he'd been gone. He's able to glimpse things happening great distances away in the present, yet when it comes to the near future, all he can recall are certain events, but not exactly who the people involved are.
  • Abilities: Judging from the exotic lab equipment Merlin keeps in his room, he has experience with sciences such as chemistry. He is also a talented tinkerer, able to make a toy train that runs on boiling tea, though he's quite modest about these feats.
  • Weapons/Equipment: Merlin's weapon of choice is the staff he carries, which acts as a focus for his magical powers. Besides that, he may keep some trinkets or potions stored in those pouches and vials arranged around his nice new modern robes.
  • Possessions: At the start of the game, Merlin lives in a small cabin in the woods that may be outside the city. Said cabin is stacked full of books, scientific equipment, sentient sugar bowls, and other such curiosities. Merlin may also have a small animal companion with him, though not Archimedes, who was perfectly content staying in the medieval times.
  • Origin: Born in ancient times, the source of Merlin's magic power is a mystery. Legend has it that he was the son of a human mother and a demon father, who intended him to be an antichrist, but was foiled when Merlin's mother had him baptised. Whatever the story, Merlin's not telling, either because he doesn't see it as important, or just to spare the small kids who'd have to hear it. At any rate, this magical origins allowed Merlin powers beyond any others, and the ability to speed along back and forth through the corridors of time. In his career as a wizard, soothsayer and prognosticator, Merlin guided many young people to becoming great people later in life. But by far the biggest impact Merlin had on a tutee, and on history itself, was when he educated the young boy who would grow up to become King Arthur Pendragon. He taught the boy what he needed to become a wise king, and helped him with his duties after the crown had been thrust upon his head. Eventually, though, Merlin had given all the help he could. It was then that Merlin decided to wash his hands of the miserable medieval times. With that, he sped off into the future, to set up shop in the early twenty-first century. A turbulent time for the world, indeed.

Name: The Avatar

Real Name: Korra Southgate

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Alignment: Hero (the chaotic kind at first)

Appearance: [1]

Personality: Due to her not entirely average childhood, Korra is a blunt, extremely straightforward, righteous person, with a strong sense of morals and no qualms for doing drastic things for what she sees as a just cause. She’s impatient, stubborn, and has a less than ideal temper. She easily gets into fights or competitions and hates losing them. She can be calm and thoughtful under the right circumstances, but is usually seen as enthusiastic and confident. She occasionally shows self doubt in her own strength, and has a difficult time separating herself from her persona as the Avatar and understanding who she is as a person instead of a revered figure of legend.

Powers: Korra’s bending mutation is slightly different from other known benders, allowing her to control all four elements with martial arts …in theory, that is. Over the course of 13 years of training with masters of their arts, Korra has learned waterbending, earthbending, and firebending.

The last element, airbending, currently eludes her, something that’s blamed on her lack of spirituality and opposing personality. She gets strange dreams and visions sometimes if prompted by seeing or hearing certain things connected to the past, which may or may not be connected with the last living Avatar, as she cannot consciously draw on his memories. (I’m thinking she has to be really pushed to a mental breaking point mid RP to access it regularly, along with any Avatar State shenanigans) Korra's ability to bend is limited by her own physical stamina (she will eventually get tired and run out of gas if overwhelmed in a fight), and her emotional state. Bending with extreme emotions like rage will affect it's power and how precise it is, or in Korra's case, what kind of element is bent.

Waterbending- Controlling water to form shapes like whips and waves, or creating bubbles and ice. Water can be drawn from the atmosphere if it’s humid enough, but otherwise needs a physical source to bend from. She can also heal minor wounds with water and a free hand with some time to concentrate correctly.

Earthbending-Controlling different types rocks, dirt, and things like concrete to create shapes like blocks, platforms, and boulders to manipulate and throw. She can also create solid structures and small quakes, as long as there is earth around. She can’t bend metal though.

Firebending-Controlling and summoning fire to use as projectiles, streams, and heat sources. She can expel fire from any limb, and even breathe flames with enough effort. The fire is mostly just concussive force when launched unless there is prolonged exposure to it or catches on something and spreads.

Abilities: Bending is a very physical task, and learning three different elements in a row and constantly using them keeps Korra in excellent physical shape. Her upper body strength in particular is enough to lift and move things above her own weight, and her non-bending martial arts skills are well honed. She can take on a regular person with her fists easily. A crowd would be more of a challenge though. She can take a physical beat down too, after getting used to getting thrown around in training matches.

Weapons/Equipment: A small leather container of water and a modified Lion-Turtle Mask with an echoing voice changer built in.

Posessions: Other than her clothes, tools, and some pictures from home, Naga is the only thing Korra really owns in Beacon City.

-Naga is a polar bear-dog hybrid, a large, powerful animal that is considered vicious and deadly to anyone from the Water Tribe. After Korra found her as a puppy years ago in the arctic tundra, Naga became the only known tamed, ride-able member of her species, and is well socialized to people. She also serves as Korra's spirit guide, able to sense spiritual or similar magical activity nearby. She has also shown the ability to track people by scent, most easily her own master.

Origin: Korra was born in the Southern Water Tribe, one of the two main groups of hidden waterbenders in the world. At first, her parents believed she was just another waterbender, but at age 4, she started using earth and fire as well. Once, news got out, the White Lotus appeared to train and protect her.

The White Lotus was a group of bending master and other people organized to assist the Avatar, who is believed by many benders to be the bridge between the physical and spirit worlds. The Avatar is written about in many old stories, rumored in myth to be reborn whenever they die and passing on their knowledge to the next one. They are the spiritual balancers of the world, and the last one, an airbender named Aang, asked for the White Lotus to help the next one more before he died quietly after saving the benders from a fabled secret 100 year war and establishing peace.

Even after so many years have passed, they kept their promise and built a guarded fortress right there in Antarctica to train the new Avatar in the elements. She picked up water, earth, and started fire before they were interrupted by Zuko, a firebender from Beacon City who desire the Avatar’s power to please his father. Zuko and Korra came to blows that escalated into a full on bending battle, spilling out of the compound into the tundra. But when a ship of raiders docked at a port and started attacking the now disorganized tribe with weapons provided by Zuko’s family’s company, they put aside their differences and worked together to fend their common enemy off. Seeing the sheer destruction the two fights had caused, Zuko changed purposes and asked for help to usurp his father’s power. Korra and a group of White Lotus members followed him back to Beacon City and helped him throw both Ozai and Zuko’s insane sister Azula into prison and a mental ward respectively, before returning to the South Pole base. Zuko temporarily comes back with her to help start up her firebending skills, finish off the raiders, and learn some old bending culture, getting close to a Katara, a waterbender around his age.

Two or three years later, Korra has finished her firebending training, and has decided to travel back to Beacon City once again to try and master the art of airbending with a man named Tenzin, the descendent of Aang, and getting herself a last name to draw less suspicion. Katara also volunteers to stay with her and Tenzin for a while. Almost immediately after her arrival at Tenzin’s temple, she sees how many villains are running amuck in the streets and wants to try her hand at some heroing of her own, trying to create a legacy as great as Aang’s. Azula’s recent escape bothers her as well, feeling responsible for recapturing her. And thus she donned an old Lion-Turtle mask and became the city’s Avatar, reborn master of the elements and protector of the weak.

  • Name: Storm Spirit
  • Real Name: Ray Thunderkeg
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 23
  • Alignment: Heroic. If we're going by D&D alignments, probably Chaotic Good.
  • Appearance: Let the fun begin! (For when he's not super-heroing, just imagine a non-blue, non-extravagantly dressed version)
  • Personality: When in full control, Raijin the Storm Spirit is literally a force of nature unleashed- he's wild, chaotic, boisterous, unpredictable, and extremely vain and theatrical about the whole thing. His human side, on the other hand, is somewhat meeker and less dramatic; his kind nature and willingness to stand up for others directs the flashier antics of his super-powered avatar.
  • Powers: As befitting an elemental avatar of storms, Storm Spirit has a wide variety of electric, wind, and rain-based powers at his disposal. He can grab and drag foes with magical tethers, hurl explosive thunderbolts at opponents, or even create volatile illusions of himself out of electricity. His most notable skill, however, is the ability to literally transform into a bolt of ball lightning and zip around at extremely rapid speeds, shocking everyone in his path. While his powers are active, he draws volatile weather to himself like... well, like a lightning-rod; thunderclouds and rainstorms form if he remains in one spot for too long or overexerts himself. The Storm Spirit can be summoned at will to power him up, although dispersing the boisterous Celestial can be more of a challenge.
  • Abilities: He boasts slightly above-average strength and is fiendishly slippery and agile while in Storm Spirit form, as well as being extremely chatty and cheerful to the point of annoyance.
  • Weapons/Equipment: None, other than his self-admitted devilishly good looks.
  • Possessions: A run-down apartment above a deli and next to a subway station, a job as a delivery boy for a Chinese restaurant, not much in the way of money, but has a good heart and a generous nature. Ray also possesses a red gemstone that is never out of his sight; when activated, it transforms him into the Storm Spirit.
  • Origin: In the distant past, Ray's ancestors comprised a lineage of elementalists. Rather than simply manipulating elements like the various bender tribes, the elemental mages attempted to commune with the Celestials themselves; the mythical, godlike beings who they believe embodied the power of the various elements. During a time of drought and famine, one foolhardy elementalist by the name of Raijin attempted to do the impossible by summoning the Storm Celestial himself to end the drought and bring life back to the parched land. His attempt succeeded, though not quite in the way that the had hoped. The Celestial did indeed descend from the heavens, but out of wrath, and a terrible storm threatened to sweep away Raijin's village. In desperation, Raijin forged a suicidal magical bond between the two beings, capturing the energy of the Celestial in his own body, gaining limited control over the winds and rain at the cost of his humanity. Yet even after his death, the connection persisted., for the Storm Celestial had learned much about humans during its time among them, and was no longer an impassive force of nature. Taking on the name of its former identity the Storm Celestial grew curious about the affairs of mortals. Shortly before graduating from university, Ray himself was approached by a mysterious elderly man, who gave him an equally enigmatic gem, belonging to a distant ancestor of his. Within its crystalline confines was a remnant of the original magical spell that transformed Raijin into the Storm Spirit, and now, once again the embodiment of wind and rain strides the earth in human form.

Yeah, I picked him up from after the series rather than in it, because that would introduce way too many random monsters, other Kamen Riders, and I'd have to play Ankh, too. Also he'd have issues with medals possessed one way or the other. >_>;

  • Name: Kamen Rider OOO (For some reason, pronounce 'ohs')
  • Name: Eiji Hino
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 22
  • Alignment: Hero
  • Appearance: All his clothes are like that. Even underwear. What he's wearing, in full.
  • Personality: Eiji, on the surface, appears to be fairly a fairly straightforward young man: well-meaning but harmless and none too bright. This is quite, quite false. He certainly means well, however: Eiji's only desire—after years of wanting nothing for himself—is more power... so that he can help people. He is stubborn to a fault about helping, and will put himself in harms' way for other people's sake. Oh, and his dream? It seems to be world peace.
  • Powers: Nada. Not unless the purple medals show up again.
  • Abilities: Well... he's capable of surviving without malnourishment when wandering through a desert with no equipment or spare clothing. He's also been to the USA, Japan, somewhere in Africa, and Vietnam at the least, for what that's worth.
  • Weapons/Equipment: The OOO Driver, which is absolutely essential for Eiji to become Kamen Rider OOO. He also has the Medajalibur, which has a handy finisher that he can't really use freely any more (since it's powered by something that nothing is making any more...)
The OOO Driver uses Core Medals to transform. Thanks to a visit from the future, he has the full set of the 'main' five, but not the Super Mode or movie-exclusive medals. They are:
    • TaToBa: Not actually a combo, but always a good thing to start with. Well-rounded. Demonstrates that you can mix and match any of the proper Core Medals. Combos are, however, stronger.
    • GataKiriBa: The insect combo. Me's a Crowd, but that only ever seems to get used for a finisher in the form of a storm of kicks. Head also has lightning abilities, body has dual swords, legs are good for jumping (yeah, each medal has abilities).
    • LaToraTa: Lion, Tiger, Cheetah. Blinding light, claws, can run really fast.
    • SaGohZo: Heavy Animals. Has a really nasty headbutt, rocket punches, and a very heavy dropkick. Also has gravitational abilities: rise into the air, slam into the ground... and the enemy gets trapped by the disturbed earth and dragged to punching distance. Highly prone to being interrupted.
    • ShaUTa: The ability to breathe underwater and echolocation, electric whips, and suction cups. Its finisher is a drill kick for... some reason.
    • TaJaDor: Has flight, can shoot fire from that shield thing, has talons. Has more finishing moves than anything else—one of them involves putting medals into that shield thing and scanning it, for a quite fantastic punch (with all the Super Mode medals it created a time vortex/black hole). Or it has a flaming dropkick.
    • Though combos are powerful, they tire Eiji a lot faster. There's also the minor downside that they aren't an unassailable improvement on being human, and Eiji doesn't actually have proper fighting skills.
  • Possessions: Tomorrow's underwear, a broken Core Medal, and some sort of electronic communication.
  • Origin: Short version: prevented one of the Greeed from destroying the world, but this cost him all the Core Medals he'd collected to that point, except the single broken medal of Ankh's, which he's still looking to repair. Is being followed by Ankh's hand, though it's just a spirit and he isn't aware of it.
