Wait, Call of Duty's a NO-SHOW this year?
Just floating around...Well no, it's nominated for Best Shooter. It's way outclassed by Bioshock, though.
Damn...
At least it isn't nominated for Game of the Year, is it?
Just floating around...That's because this year's Call Of Duty wasn't that good. It just went through the motions, and unlike MW 3, it wasn't concluding a story.
One hopes the scant highlights of this year's endeavour will transfer themselves over to a worthier installment.
Supposedly the Nintendo game is a premier, and then that overhyping son-of-a-gun Keighly is posting pics of Reggie in a Zelda blazer.
Game of the Year nominees are The Last Of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V, Tomb Raider, and Super Mario 3D World.
I honestly think it is Zelda, actually. It's basically their only franchise that really appeals to the typical viewership of the VGAs. They were set up to show it at E3 anyway, so if there's footage ready, why not show it? It can't hurt the Wii U at this point, and announcing it may even get some more systems off the shelves before Christmas.
Ghosts has an unremarkable campaign, and multiplayer that really sucks due to lag comp, awful spawns, and overlarge, poorly designed maps (made worse by the awful spawns.)

this place needs me hereIt's still a COD instalment, so no matter what, it'll probably win for selling the most out of every other game in the lineup.
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Oh yea of little faith. GTA V is gonna win because it outsold them all! Waitisitevenintheshootercatagory?
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogIt's GTA. No matter how Widget Saints Row and Sleeping Dogs get, GTA will still be firmly aimed at the COD fanbase, and therefore a shooter.
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"More of a shooter than those other two...and better at it too.

youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92Better at shooting, but not at wide audience appeal.

Surprise reveals: GTA V DLC, Fallout 4, Uncharted 4 with a new lead, Zelda Wii U, and Bioshock Vita.
GTA is not a shooter, it's an action-adventure. The shooters are Bioshock Infinite, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Metro: Last Light.
Hm... I dunno. Games like Okami or some Zeldas are closer to Action-Avenure. GTA is more of a sandbox crime game with shooter elements.
I have a message from another time...I would lodge it and other story-focused sandbox games in the adventure category.
Do you think there will ever be an Okami 2, a Banjo-Threeie, or a Half-Life 3?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."I'm... unsure what that question has to do with the VGA...
Okami 2 would depend on gathering the original developers again to collaborate for the sequel, but technically, Ōkamiden is the sequel for now. And as far as I know, Okami's creators expressed a loss of interest in the series after Capcom had a different team make the DS game, and since Capcom disbanded the original development studio, I'm not sure if all of Okami's devs even moved into the same new studio (Platinum Games).
I don't know what's going on with Rare, but for all intents and purposes, Nuts n Bolts is supposed to be the third game, just like Jak X is supposed to be the next Jak And Daxter game after Jak 3. Who knows if they'll ever make another platforming Banjo and Kazooie game.
No comment on Half-Life 3.

Well. That's underwhelming.
nyo ho hoHow about this for a supposed announcement?
Duke Nukem Forever and Ever
P.S. The VGX is tonight, right?
Also, I'm kinda surprised no one voted for South Park: The Stick of Truth for Most Anticipated Game of 2014 (I did). But hey, since the VGX is apparently being regarded as one of the very incarnations of horse crap, bull crap, and bird crap all rolled into one, I guess it doesn't really matter, does it?

Yup.
nyo ho hoDoes anyone mind reminding me why no one likes the VGX? Is it the same reason why no one likes the Oscars these days? They always go for the ones that made more money or something?
Having played through about half of Black Flag (as in halfway through everything; halfway through the story, and enough open-world activities to bring the completion to around 50%), and knowing a bit about the other games on the list, I actually agree with that. And I'm saying that as a huge Assassin's Creed fan who is really enjoying the game so far.
The Last of Us, GTAV, Bioshock Infinite, and SM3DW are all definitely touchstone games this year. I'm not so sure about the new Tomb Raider, but then again, it's sold something like six million copies, so it must have done something right.
