Gundam Build Fighters

The Final Episode was just plain fun. No silly melodrama, just comedy and action all the way through.

Build Fighters bein' Gundam Valhalla confirmed because DOMON.

He's fine. Just kept wondering where DOMON! ANSWER MY PHONE! is.

Damn look at that super fumina. Maximum embarrassment.

Yeah, this last episode was fun.

Too bad about the rest of the show. Ah well.

I seriously hope that a spinoff manga is made about Mamoru's rivalry with the newest Sazaki.

And, of course, Gyanko and Shimon.

Speaking OF the Sazaki family, that's 4 kids, of reasonably different ages (Gyanko looked to be about the same age as her younger brother is here when she cameoed last season) so... what.

Thing is, the finale is what Build fighters try should be: Fun. (without saying all the time it's fun) Because introducing the Nocebo effect was silly and unnecessary. Sure, there's the Gunplax Academy, but I wouldn't mind them to be the Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy of the season, etc...

Bottom line: Try was fun at first, but fell to the trap of the Serious Business of the "Gimmick" genre, and it was easy to guess Sekai would punch the hell out of the last ace.

I checked out the reddit thread for this and quite a few are excited about Domon.

And it even started a specialized comment chain.

According to /m/'s translation of a tweet, we're getting a Build Fighters OVA made by the S1 Staff, and a BF Try OVA.

By the way, notice how Super Fumina has the design and color scheme of Cardigan.

Remember what I said about the show taking a downfall when Fumina dropped the Cardigan for Winning?

Welp, now it's back and the final episode is actually pretty good.

Let me tell you, it's the curse of Cardigan, man.

Something about over abundance of Gundams?

When I saw Super Fumina, I was like "I can't right now, I just can't."

But yeah, that was probably a really good way to have a final episode with a cluster brawl. They even stuck in some cameos like the Xi Gundam.

It appears Tatsuya, Nils and Caroline all enjoyed the massive arena fight at the end of BF that they decided to recreate it without the Plavsky-crsytal-going-out-of-control deal.

Also, a comment on YouTube makes an interesting observation: Gunpla Shingyo disciples are all perverts in some way.

Also also: 'Char custom' taken to its 'logical' extreme.

Well, Master Chinnan was a pretty big pervert, so it must be part of the "mysteries of the Shingyo school."

Minato can now get his own disciple.

Something just came up.

Minato can't be Yuuma's rival.

Why?

Because Minato is on an entirely different level from Yuuma.

Yuuma is at best a good modifier. Minato, however, can create entirely new Gunplas out of scratch.

Seriously, he's actually at a point where he can make a living with that, at least in that universe.

Yeah, but Minato's problem is that he's forgotten the "Gundam" part of "Gunpla".

I'm sure that's the real reason "Super Fumina" failed to win: there's nothing "Gundam" about it.

If he slapped a V-Fin on Super Fumina's head he might have won.

Speaking of which, someone should mix the Skyrim Trailer with Fumina yelling at Minato. FUS RO DAH!

Guys, everyone in the Gunpla Shingyo School are perverts. You have Master Chinan and his collection of Gundam waifus, Mao and his failed attempt at pulling a fast one on Misaki, and we've already seen a glimpse of Minato's deviance.

Next season: we'll have a female Gundam Shingyo disciple and her customs, which all consist of combinations of the mobile suits of characters she's shipping. /wmg

Just saw this under and was curious what people thought.

"How come no one pointed this out? Doesn't everyone think that Lady Kawaguchi and Caroline Yajima may be the same person. A lot of things can happen in seven years, and her fighter skills could have improved around that time. And Nils Yajima (formerly Nielsen) already appeared, but where's Caroline? The possibility of Caroline earning the "Kawaguchi" title couldn't just be coincidence since their company already knows Plavsky Particles in and out, just like what Nils said, and she could have used that to get the title. Also, Lady Kawaguchi and Caroline Yajima has the same affinity with SD Gundams. Caroline uses an SD Knight Gundam while Lady uses an SD Devil Dragon Blade Zero Gundam. Coincidence? About the only physical discrepancy I noticed was they have different eye color (Caro has blue eyes, Lady has green). They actually have the same basic hair style so it might be possible, if unlikely.

My guess is she's a relative of Caroline, maybe a little sister or cousin.

Well, it's over. To be honest, I kinda lost interest in many of the later episodes. Part of the reason why I stopped commenting (well, that and I was busy). They just weren't that fun as GBF was for me, and a lot of the battles weren't really that creative. Just the boring trap a lot of shounen fall into—namely MOAR POWER-UPS without interesting execution. And the whole team sport thing never really got fully realized.

That said, the finale was just plain crazy fun, and I'm just disappointed the series didn't have more of that energy.

I think the Mejin was a little creeped out by it as well and that's why it lost.

true. I think the main creep factor wasnt so much the mecha though as the fact he didnt even ask. >_>
