Steam Sale 9: Freeze the Wallet

Sales date is leaked...maybe. Whoops.

Anyway, it seems to be Dec 19 - Jan 2...

Holiday sale is usually longer than a week, right? This probably isn't right.

^ That's 2 weeks...

2 big sales within a month and a few days with only a few weeks' breathing time in between? I'm kinda new to this Steam Sale stuff, so this is news to me.

Though I'm more interested in figuring out which greenlighted dev was dumb enough to piss off Gaben and close off a major income and publicity source.

In the meantime:

It's some Russian Indie Greenlight dev that posted the info. They received the notice and then decided to post it up, as a means of both bragging and thinking that the confidentiality thing is a joke. I don't think anything serious will happen to his company, but Steam probably won't promote his title during the sales as a punishment. Now, if the moron has received info about which titles will go on sale and what type of discounts they would receive, THAT would be MASSIVE problem and would very likely lead to legal charges on the grounds of him exposing such info to the competition and cutting into their sales at the same time.

I just meant that Valve is having 2 big seasonal sales, the Autumn and the Winter Sales mostly concentrated in December, and I just thought that's interesting. Wouldn't the autumn sale be in, you know, mid autumn?

Yeah, that one's just like the two days before Halloween, and it's mostly a bunch of bad zombie games. There are good ones too, no question, but it's not like the Summer and Winter sales, where pretty much everything that wasn't released in the last two months is on sale.

I assumed seasonal sales were always big sales. My bad.

Well, I was waiting for a sale on Wargame Air Land Battle and on Long Live The Queen, though I was rather hoping that the latter would be a steeper discount than 10%. Eh, with those out of the way, I've got everything I was looking to get out of the way, so I'll take the plunge.

At least until the EU IV expansion hits.

Actually, it released at 10% off, went back to full price, and then was re-discounted to 10% off.

Anyway, I bought Bulletstorm, Hammerwatch, and Left 4 Dead 2. I have my eye on stuff like Spelunky and Bionic Dues, but I'm hoping they go on flash sale for less.

I got Pinball FX 2: Excalibur. Because that has always been one of my favorite tables.

I'd really love to see Evo Land on sale at some point.

I'm guessing everybody and their dog owns Terraria already, but if you don't, I highly recommend it.

Anyone have opinions on Antichamber?
