Suggestion: Tomboy With A Girly Streak

Can Laney be the page image?

Good illustrations make good page images, not good examples. Necessarily. If you have a suggestion, find an image to show it.

Please don't be ambiguous when making a suggestion. A first name from some work I'm not familiar with isn't anything to go off of.

No idea who that is, but I did find this on dA. Maybe something like this◊, with the three-piece suit (tomboy) and the Girlish Pigtails? ^note Triella from Gunslinger Girl. Maybe a two-panel pic, showing the tomboy◊ side and then the girly◊ side? ^note Kikuchi Makoto from The Idolmaster.

Triela (from the second image) almost works, but she really needs to be seen with something girly (I don't think Girlish Pigtails are enough of a clue). Like maybe one of those teddy bears she's said to be collecting according to the example on the page.

Did a search for "Laney" on the page; apparently, she's a character in Grojband. I've never heard of this show, however.

For some reason, what came to my mind was that one shot of Rainbow Dash nuzzling her pet tortoise Tank before standing up in a totally stern pose, eyes dashing about to check that nobody caught her brief moment of girlishness there. It happened in Season 3 Episode 8 (11 in airdate order), "Just for Sidekicks". Problem is, that'd take multiple frames to work, and, well, Brevity Is Wit...

I know which you mean and I think it could be done in two frames but I really don't see the girly part in that sequence.

Of all suggestions, I think 5.1 is the only one that works.

5.1's got the tomboy part down pat. What's the girlish part, though? The hair?

And yeah, Rainbow Dash worked better in my head than it does in practice. Ah, well.

Being girl shaped? Wearing pink? I don't really know either but given nothing better so far, it's actually a good example providing the OP or someone else doesn't have some Laney images to compare against.

^ "...given nothing better so far, it's actually a good example..." How good an example it is doesn't really affect whether it's a good image or not. A little, maybe, if there are two good suggestions and one is a better example, or something. No image is better than a bad image, though.

A good Tomboy with a Girly Streak page image would show something like a girl in a baseball cap and dirty clothes doing something stereotypically girly, having a tea party perhaps. Two frames seems like it would probably be about the wrong thing.

Not enough tomboy.

5.1 does look like a tomboy, and the pink is enough for the trope. There's also the background to emphasise it.

I'm not really thrilled with 5.1 but it's better than all the other suggestions so I'll give it the overall.

I like both on 16. Not sure if I like one better than the other.

Both of 16 work as well, although I would use a caption to point to the teddy bear.
