Del Toro's Treehouse Of Horror Opening Of PURE AWESOMENESS

I believe this deserves a trope page. Starting with the

• Did Lovecraft Just Have Tea With Cthulhu (while the latter was destryoing a city no less).
• Shout-Out oh my:
  • The Day The Earth Stood Still
  • Tales From The Crypt
  • Pans Labyrinth, possibly the only part that was actually scary.
  • Pacific Rim
  • The Shining
  • Alien
  • Godzilla.
  • Practically every Zombies trope in a couple of seconds.
  • Hell Boy
  • Forbidden Planet.
  • V

I don't usually like to be spoiled, but holy crap! This was EPIC! Even if the rest of the episode is mediocre (although I have high hopes, considering that they're FINALLY doing a Freaks parody), this will more than make up for it.

Don't forget The Car.

I liked the movie monsters chasing the villagers with torches and pitchforks.

And The Birds, and all the Colombia monster movies, and what looks like Blade, and Alice In Wonderland...

Dear God. If only this this year's T.O.H doesn't leave me depressed, this WILL be epic!

Also that was one of the better looking Cthulhus I've seen.

I totally knew they would throw in a Shout-Out to Pacific Rim. Thumbs up if you saw the Jaeger and kaiju. And the Hypnotoad.

The Cyclops is from one of the old Sinbad movies (Seven Voyages?)

Lots of Harryhausen Shout Outs (the skeleton warriors from Jason And The Argonauts I caught out in one scene)

Out of Character: Frankenstein's monster is holding a torch, when a major plot point in his stories was his fear of fire.

Someone's already made an annotated version list most, if not all the shout outs.

Pan's Labyrinth is already annotated in the part with Mr. Burns and Fairy Smithers.

I know, but I mean they should've pointed it out again in the end part (otherwise people who aren't familiar with the movie will wonder about it.)

It would have been amusing if they had fused the Hypnotoad with the other toad from Pans Labyrinth.
