The current image for Hot-Blooded is a picture of General Zod from Man of Steel. He is an example of the trope, but I only know that from watching the movie. The image does nothing to convey his passionate nature; he's just giving an evil glower. The only thing demonstrating his passion is the page quote, which is taken from the film.

->"I have a duty to my people and I will not allow anyone to prevent me from carrying it out!!"'' —>— General Zod (pictured on right), Man of Steel

Agree, he doesn't look hot-blooded at all, just evil.

Yeah, yank. If he loves it so much we could consider a Zod picture (not that one) for the Live Action Film page.

Not to mention he unilaterally changed the quote, which is frowned upon.

Looking at the history, looks like Eddie himself yanked the original image, which I thought was great... though I don't really know why.

For starters, I have not changed the substance of the quote in any shape or form. He said that quote verbatim. If you don't believe me, you can check the clip on You Tube.

If I'm not mistaken, Hot-Blooded characters are a reference to those who radiate intensity. Frankly, I can think of few images more intense than the picture posted. He's burning with so much passions that his eyes are LITERALLY ablaze. The fact he also looks menacing and sinister while doing so does little to change that fact. Moreover, when coupled with the quote featured beside it, it does an effective job illustrating what the trope is about.

Consequently, unless you have a better image in mind, I recommend leaving it up. Otherwise, you're doing a disservice to visitors of this page who are visual learners. Just saying.

Okay, "unilaterally changed the quote" means changing the page's quote without discussion. Usually when people do that, they either go to the discussion page or the Quote Discussion Thread in the Long Term Projects Forum.

His eyes being red could mean a lot of things. The quote is doing all the work, which what is considered Just A Face And A Caption. Given he's from the same franchise as probably the most famous instance of someone with Eye Beams in the world, "his eyes are red" doesn't make it a good image.

Moreover, a Hot-Blooded character is passionate, loud, and tends to throw themselves at something with 100%. A menacing glower doesn't really scream Hot-Blooded.

While wearing a menacing glower s not sufficient to signify a Hot Blooded character, it is not sufficient to disqualify one either.

Moreover, even in a universe with Heat Vision, the blazing eyes serve an artistic purpose as well when coupled with his snarl. They encapsulates the rage and single-mindedness which drives him to fulfill his mission regardless of the cost to himself and other. It's a face that not open to negotiation: just pure brutal & fanatical resolve

He looks evil, and kind of stubborn in the way that means he doesn't listen to people because they're below him and he doesn't care. Or something. Doesn't jibe with the trope. Pull.

As faces go it does look pretty intense. Keep Until Better Image Suggested. It probably could use more character interaction though, like something similar to the pic on Fiery Redhead.

How is that supposed to illustrate Hot-blooded? I vote to pull.

As for suggestions, I think a close-up version of this might do...

10 doesn't work. I think I can make out a person in that fire, but it doesn't look like "passionate, loud, and tends to throw themselves at something with 100%." This isn't about having fire powers. It's about emotion. They can go together, but that much fire is distracting.

[up]I know, which is why I said a "close-up version of the pic" which focus on just the face, and not the whole image. I think he looks determined/passionate enough, but yes, the fire is distracting.

+1 to pull the current for being way too vague.

It's been pulled. I brought the quote discussion to the Quote Thread, so unless we want to add something, seems like we're done here.

Ah. Well, I'm not going to question it.

Say, are there any particular difference between Large Ham and Hot-Blooded? I've been looking around GIS for a bit and I'm a bit confused.

[up] One can be a Large Ham without being Hot-Blooded; it's all in the delivery. Jim Kirk is a good example.
