Does Not Illustrate: Serial Numbers Filed Off

The picture is far too reliant on the caption, and though pop culture osmosis could excuse it, I don't think it's the best image.

Maybe pairing it with a screenshot from Angry Birds proper?

Considering the trope doesn't allow examples from which I could look through and find other examples, I say it's as clear as it's gonna get.

Most people know what Angry Birds is, but this would be a good screenshot for comparison. [1]◊

I think it's good as is. At most, I'd put that screencap from the actual Angry Birds into the caption as a link in "ripoff".

I think the current is Just A Face And A Caption That Explains The Trope. It wouldn't explain much less if you removed the image, which is kind of bad for an image.

A comparison image wouldn't so much "help" as it would "make it acceptable".

It's not like it's that hard to find one, either.

I wonder how many clones of Angry Birds there are out there? A montage of 3 or 4 might do better than just a side-by-side.

Quite a lot, but most of them aren't with birds and pigs, which is why the current is pretty good (with some context, that is). Fun fact, Angry Birds ripped off ''Crush the Castle'', which I remember playing some time before ever hearing about Angry Birds.

I agree that it should have an comparison to Angry Birds somewhere. As is, it requires you to be familiar with Angry Birds to understand that the image is of a ripoff, and while AB is popular, I don't think it's so well known that we can assume familiarity.

It's not nearly famous enough to assume that. I've several such games before AB came out. CtC being one of them.

It would be totally more awesome if we could find a shot of the lower one that more closely resembles the Angry Birds shot . . . but 11 is already much better than current.

I played a few levels of Chik'N Bash and they don't get much more complex than what's in the pic now. If someone wants to take a stab at finding a screen from Angry Birds that's closer, go for it.

If we wanted to be literal, I was able to find this◊ photo of a pistol frame with the serial numbers filed off.

It's the only photo I could find where just about anybody can see the serial numbers were obviously removed, unlike, say, this◊ Type 54 (license-made Tokarev TT-33 copy; TT-33s have CCCP around the star), where one would need to be familiar with the TT-33 to know the serial numbers should be in the white spaces on the middle of the slide and on the frame above the grips.
