Suggestion: Toilet Humour

I've wondered about the crowners myself, in TRS though. Who did call this one?

Nitrokitty, you have made it abundantly clear that you don't like the Wicked Stepmother page image, but it is in no way shape or form comparable to the Simpsons suggestion for this page. Now stop riding that hobbyhorse.

Well, I can't speak for everyone else, but I personally feel that we have been relying way too much on text-based images lately. Who wants to read an image? Plus, the Simpsons one is nice and subtle.

If quality is an issue for the Simpsons image, here◊ are◊ some◊ more◊.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Eddie, I think it's getting votes because it's the Simpsons. We really need to get more suggestions and try and run another crowner and get more conclusive results.

There's some tropes where subtlty undermines them, and the crude humor tropes are like that IMO.

It is not jokes involving toilets. Now and then a literal image is funny and works*, but that is pretty rare, and not the case here.

* I suspect it has to do with the likelihood of a trope name being misinterpreted and therefore an image that doesn't match the actual definition adds to the probability of it being misinterpreted, but I haven't given that a lot of thought.

In this case, I wonder if part of it is the IP regulars not wanting to confront this trope more than is absolutely necessary.

I just voted down the lactose one because I don't see how it's a joke. It's just a situation involving crapping.

I disagree with this. I actually think that a literal image would be kind of funny and work pretty well with this sort of trope.

I get the impression some people are either not getting or just overlooking the Edgar Allan Poe reference in the QC pic^note look up "The Cask of Amontillado" if it's the former...that's the whole "humour" aspect of the scene.

Not everyone knows of these.

I find it funny as hell and break down everytime I open it, but then again I have a incredibly crude and immature sense of humor more befitting of a Jr High kid.

I don't get the Poe reference and I get what it's trying to do.

Oh, I sort of halfway got that reference, but it's one irrelevant to the trope.

Considering Eddie 'd the winner, I'd say this is now pointless. We can revisit this if someone comes up with something. Locking up in the meantime.
