I like #3 the best. And you're right, the current image really isn't very good.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I think 3 is the best as well, current included.
Check out my fanfiction! Why is the current on the left? It makes the page just look wrong. A longer description would be nice, as well, and some cross-wicking. The trope isn't thriving. If we keep the example from Majoras Mask, we should at least have an image of it being used as a shield. [1]◊ I know, wrong game, but I couldn't find any pictures online.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. It on the left so it doesn't hang down into the example section.
on 1.3
works too.

1.3 > > everything else.
Shadow Khan◊ from Double Dragons.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?Bump; any other thoughts?
1.3 seems to be in the lead, otherwise crowner? Been a while now.
Check out my fanfiction!1.3 also seems the best to me.
One or two more votes for 3 and we can run with it.
for 1.3.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like 1.3 too... Buuuut I'll also go haead and suggest a Daedric Shield from Morrowind, just for kicks :p http://www.flickr.com/photos/fantasy-art-and-portraits/3982451246/
"We are not a stuffy encyclopedic wiki. We're a buttload more informal".1.3 is up and tagged and the rest are on the Image Links page. Caption or no?
I think it looks rather good without a caption. With the white background it kind of blends in better than if we tag a caption on it.
Check out my fanfiction! No caption. It would make it go even deeper into the example section, and destroy the "blending".
But the page could use a quote simply to make the description taller.
Locking up.
Unless you read the text it's pretty unclear that it's supposed to be a shield and not a mask. Some alternatives this◊, this◊, this◊ or this◊.
