Hey, you guys think the Guardians will get those uniforms they usually have in the comics by the end of the movie?
Also, that Star Lord helmet looks ultra-kickass. Does anyone feel a Darth Vader or Optimus Prime vibe to it?
And was Star Lord wearing what they call a Badass Longcoat?

No, probably not. I think the closest thing to a uniform are the red outfits they're wearing.
I think these are the uniforms they're gonna be wearing.◊ They're not bad, but I'd like comic-style blue-and-red ones in a sequel.
You guys like Let's Plays? You guys like shameless plugs? Well, come on down!Nope. "How can we have as few, and as muted, colors as possible?"
My various fanfics."Hmmm, Raccoons are mostly different greys, and trees are mostly different browns, have we got any properties with a raccoon and a tree in them?"
"Yes actually... we have-"
"Brilliant, I'll give you two hundred million and James Gunn to make a movie where the audience praise us for using muted colours for a change."
That picture is so brown that even Drax, who is green, looks brown.
It does look like they're going for a more 'lived-in' universe.

(V)(;,,;)(V)No, it's fairly greenish.

"Spirit in the Sky"?! Oh my God I can't stop laughing.
Feels kind of awkward. There's a lot of in-universe "LOOK HOW WACKY AND OUTLANDISH THIS IS," even though the movie itself doesn't seem to be doing anything especially unconventional. The action and the humor both look very safe and very typical for Marvel movies at this point.
Given Marvel's current track record, this is a very good thing, so long as you're not the kind of person that hates all of Marvel's other movies thus far.
Most of Marvel's movies so far have been pretty solidly average, with the exceptions of the first Iron Man, The Avengers, and Captain America The Winter Soldier, which were very good. The achievement that sets them apart from DC, Fox, and Sony is that none of their superhero movies have been really bad. (Well, that and creating a big combined universe, obviously.)
Due to the size of the movie franchise, and the proliferation of superhero movies generally, this means the average ones start to feel rather generic.

Which is why it's always a pleasure to let someone with an outsize vision take the helm for this kind of thing.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project12 billion people seems really small for a whole galaxy, unless it's just the population of one planet.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Probably just a planet. The editing make it sounds she was talking about the Galaxy (since the Guardians were "just" talking about it), but trailers rarely give the accurate context for any given situation.
For someone who so rarely watches movies, and so rarely comes across trailers on TV somehow, I seem to speak fluent "Never Trust a Trailer". This looks like it'll be comedic, and it has a freaking raccoon. That's all I need to know.
And the giant disembodied celestial head known as Knowhere.
Sadly, it seems unlikely we'll see Cosmo, but I suppose they have to save something for future movies.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for Cosmo as well, but seeing how packed this movie already is, I don't have high hopes for him showing up.
But, like you said, there's always hope for a sequel, and maybe we can get Warlock and Phyla-Vell in it, too.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)It'd be cool if Uatu shows up. He doesn't actually do anything, and nobody draws attention to him, but if you pay attention to the background of big, climactic scenes you might see him. Watching.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I'm working under the assumption that Stan Lee is the Watcher.
Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.That... is my new headcanon.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I heartily approve of this headcanon.
Even if Stan Lee isn't present in Guardians of the Galaxy. I can still imagine he's present in a background scene somewhere.
Stan Lee shouldn't be present for Guardians. He's the Watcher for Earth and its system. Other solar systems have their own Watchers.

Some behind-the-scenes stuff and a bit of Groot animation. Man, at 28 seconds, I am digging the look and motion of those doors. I love how much physical stuff they've built for it.
