Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadStrider! Yay! I've always wanted to play the old game, but never got the opportunity, and this new game looks beautiful.
Here's hoping this one is also Nintendo Hard - I hear the old game is like that.
How long before we get a backlash from Megaman fans for Capcom not doing this for Megaman instead?

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, they should count the number of years between the last official Strider game and this one, then just quietly wait that number of years for the next core game in their personal favorite branch of the MM franchise.
Amen to that.
Two questions.
1) Is this a reboot or an actual sequel to Strider 2? Last time I checked, 2 had something of a Gainax Ending on its hands, what with Hiryu implied to be the reincarnation of the Strider Hiryu who defeated the Grandmaster 2000 years ago during the events of original game.
2) Will this game sell better than Strider 2? Not even Hiryu's popularity coming off of MvC1 did much for its sales IIRC.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadStrider 2's failure is probably because it wasn't marketed at all. If Neo Strider (my personal name for the reboot) doesn't have that problem, I assume that it might do decently considering the MvC Strider fans.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. We can only hope.
I'm partial to Strider III: Cypher's Edge myself.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI think this game just set the record for fastest Wii U version cancellation.
I have a message from another time...Apparently the Wii U logo has been removed from the website and media.
I have a message from another time...Looking at the article itself, that was apparently just a screw-up by the author.
Also, it sounds like it's going to be a Metroidvania-type game.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. So, the Wii U version never existed. I see.
I have a message from another time...A shame, though. If it's coming out for the PS3, 360, PS4, and... that other thing, the game certainly could be made for the Wii U.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadYeah. The deadly Wii U cycle continues, I guess.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Yep, that's definitely another arrangement of "Raid." That's one point for Double Helix already. The lack of a SCHWING when he swings Cypher is a bit odd, though.
The game looks pretty striking visually and the Metroidvania elements mesh well with the basic gameplay of previous titles from what I can see so far. It also means that the power-ups and abilities from the arcade/NES versions of Strider and Strider 2 could very well be implemented into Hiryu's repertoire of moves this way.
I have to wonder who's voicing Hiryu, though. It doesn't sound like T.J. Storm to me.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadWell, it seems that they are taking at least some bits from Hiryu's MvC outings. I spotted his launcher, and the charge attack is one of his specials.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. Not to mention his jumping animation and his Option A drones now working in the exact same manner as his Ouroboros hyper (as opposed to being more of a mobile boomerang).
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI bet Legion will become a Smart Bomb.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Seems like they're keeping the keyframes from his original moves but adding more inbetweeners to keep the frame count up to a modern standard. That's probably the best way to do a polygonal remake.
I'm pretty certain that a Wii U port will happen if the game ends up underperforming on the 7th gen systems and the odds become even better if it underperforms on the 8th gen as well..
Man, the trailer really doesn't give a good impression of how just how much the player is going to get shot. I was wondering, because looking at the trailer it seemed like there were very few enemies per area - nice to know that's really not true.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Any thoughts on the new color-changing laser scarf?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Frankly if Laser Scarf alone doesn't sell you on the game there's no hope for you.
Coming early next year to both current and next gen systems.
