I can't argue with that.
Check out my fanfiction! The entire cast is brain damaged to some degree, no one is quite normal although Yoko is the closest.
Brain damaged is too strong to describe the characters, given how this a comedy. ^^; Rather, everyone's silliness is deliberately played up.
Psssst.
They're only joking.
The 7th Hello:
- Karen's a part of the weather. With the amount of energy she generates, is it any surprise?
- A golden sleepover for Shino. Well, except for the bath part.
- This season was lacking in English-speak. Time to make up for...wait, this episode has more English-speak than the first season combined, I think!
- I swear, cats are like poison to ya, Karen.
- Indeed. Theirs is a golden friendship.
Episode 8!
Oh look, Alice is doing the "wasting water for aesthetic" thing!
Yeah, I'd rather go to the beach than the sky. Have we really not had a beach episode yet? Wow.
Karen's dream is to work at Mc Donalds oh glob.
ARE WE FINALLY GOING TO ENGLAND???
Adult chickens can flutter a little. You know, like Scootaloo.
The midterms are flunked. Little ado is made about three of the cast probably having to repeat a grade.
Get her a new handkerchief from England!
Such a happy couple. Australia.
Totoro To-to-ro!
Yoko you dog.
Isami isn't going to let Shino's failure slide though.
Putting off the beach until next episode! Argh!
Yoko is a cicada now. How the mighty have fallen.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I was surprised that Karen's parents also moved to Japan.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaI thought Karen moved to Japan with them to begin with...
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
Last season showed that her father was in Japan at least, as he was the one who drove the trailer they used for their riverside summer trip.
EDIT: Having watched the episode now, there's a lot less obvious "laugh here" parts, but many of the segments elicited chuckles. It's also offset by Ayaya being Ayaya, and some of Honoka's antics.
Also, instead of Mc Donalds, we apparently get World Burger in Kinmosa. Oh, and gotta love the mini that Karen's folks drive.

I thought World Burger is more likely referring to Mos Burger, though. Also, I won't be surprised about Karen's dad was in Japan at one point; I was surprised he and his wife is living in Japan. It took me a whole week for the implication of the "cake taunt" scene to sink in...

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra Novax5. Tossing water on cement on a hot day (known as 'Uchimizu') does cool off the area though, cement is like one giant heating pad and tossing water on it releases a lot of that heat. It also keeps the dust down.

Some observations:
- Karen's phone is a real phone — a Sharp Aquos Crystal. Also as people have noted before elsewhere, Karen's the only one with an actual smartphone (to show that she's loaded); everyone else barring Shino (who has no cellphone) uses a clamshell flip phone.
- The Kujo family apparently drives a Cooper S mini... which, in real life, would be AWFULLY tight if you go beyond a certain height range.
It's okay, everyone in this anime is tiny.
The 8th Hello:
- Incur the Ayayaya's wrath at your own peril.
- Yep, wearing glasses for few seconds if you have perfect vision is dizzying.
- First time going to a fast food joint out here? "Too easy", Karen thought.
- Going home for the summer, eh? Will I see that happen?
- Alice's good at handkerchief art.
- The pains of report cards. Godspeed, Shinobu.
It would be nice for the whole cast to go on the trip.
I swear to christ if they do not go to England by the time this season is over...
I know...They just waste time doing nothing in the same old school setting every episode when they could be going to England and doing nothing there.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Okay this is slice-of-life. I KNOW basically nothing happens in these shows. ..but I sad "basically"! They keep mentioning this trip!
Doing nothing is usual for the series but a trip to England and doing jokes there would be a nice perspective flip.
Episode 8. In which they prepare for summer.
Don't tease the Ayaya. The Ayaya will get you back.
Ayaya is good at bringing down the mood.
When she's not being too tsundere to work properly, she's the only smart person in that group.
No fast food the entire time she's been there? That's a bit odd.
Trolling with a taste of Curry. Or is that Curry with a taste of trolling?
"Even if it's with Yoko, for some reason." Yeah, "some reason" indeed.
I think Ayaya hit exactly where she aimed. And exactly where Curry deserved.
She's great moral support.
Sure, she's a major tsundere and all, but why would that scare her?
That's a very square bikini.
Can't fool the cool sis.
Check out my fanfiction!Episode 9. In which Ayaya is more on the ball than Honoka.
She pulls those ringlets off rather well, I'd say.
Is it possible for a character to want to sleep in, and actually get to do it?
She's prepared, at least. Although maybe a little too eager. Then again, Curry is as Curry is.
Ayaya has it planned out for her friends. I kind of doubt she'd need those plans herself, though. It would come naturally.
I think she needs to practice on her calling skills, though.
I don't think Ayaya has the same consideration for others as she thinks others have for her.
Good timing! Good siblings. Also, nice to see Yoko like that for once.
I like that both planned on taking the smaller piece without thinking. Yoko's solution was kind of obvious, though. Ayaya's reaction likewise.
"I'll save it for tomorrow" = "I'll save it for when I absolutely have to or when there's nothing else to do."
That wouldn't be a scary curse. She'd look great.
Curry doesn't have as good timing as the Yokolings. Also, she lacks tennis etiquette.
So it's not just in the OP. She can actually do that. Cool points +1.
Don't you usually notice people when they walk into the door?
The power to tsukkomi from another room. Such is the power of the Cool Big Sis. But sometimes, it's just not enough to keep her spirits up.
I think Bunnoka wins there.
Next episode will be the beach episode. But it will be changed to cover Honoka's tennis match because the network won't allow any fanservice.
Check out my fanfiction!Episode 9!
OMG! Karen's hair!
Shino and Honoka are on blondes like cats on catnip.
These bitches better go to the beach this episode.
Um...Aya?
Aya is with Yoko at her house...alone. L-lewd.
Even the twins know what's up.
Beach? Beach? Beach? Beach? Beach?
Straight bangs, I guess. Cat maid straight bangs.
Cute fashion show.
Next week I guess. -_-
It's gonna rain, isn't it!?
GASP! No! It's not gonna rain! There really will be beach?

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.You remind me of Lily White wanting spring to come.
Check out my fanfiction!
Episode 7. In which it's sunny with chance of Curry.
If you're too hot, running doesn't help.
Curry remodel?
Yeah, I can buy that she made it herself.
I agree. It's odd that she actually listens. And funny.
Oh, that cruel, cruel mother! How can she even think of a punishment so vile? It's also super effective.
I wonder if she could keep up being "sweet" like that for an entire hour.
She looks somewhat untrustworthy, singing like that.
She's quick at changing. Must secretly be a ninja. And yes, that's a horrible outfit if you want something cool.
It sure goes dark quickly. Or she spent a lot of time running around after getting home.
I'm not going to blame her for not understanding it, but it's not that motormouthy. And while heavily accented as usual, clear enough English.
How long has she been living with that family? Shouldn't she know how they'd react by now?
I somehow find Asami's thoughts amusing.
Ayaya really does look good like that.
Well, she did think it through. On her side. But actually looking at the room, she'd hit her head on the night stand.
If you're going to wake people up, it's usually a good idea to be awake yourself.
I always wondered if she got hit in the head as a child, but...
What's so hard about shouting a little earlier?
That's not actually an exaggeration. Also, didn't her foot hurt just a while ago?
I'm going to go with that she was upset because he lied, and not because she didn't get what she wanted. She's not that materialistic, and she doesn't get what she want all the time, while still very rarely turns sour.
