I prefer the larger speech bubbles, even if it does mean a tiny bit of the character art is covered. You've done a beautiful job of making sure both as little as possible and nothing important is covered up.

v Did that. Less of the girl on the left is cropped off, more of the girl on the right; good trade I think.

Much more legible. I CAN READ IT! Too bad the girl on the bottom left is cut out. Maybe that could pan over a little more. There is some free space to the right of the girl in the green.

No consensus; locking up.
I know, a thread on this trope was just recently locked for lack of action. But I think that Questionable Content may have just provided the perfect image, with no need to block out part of the existing image. I'm aware that the text is awfully small, but I think that can be tweaked.
