That sounds defiant.
Not just can be defiant, it is something to actually point to as evidence of defiance, whereas "defiant" is subjective.
Poisonous Captive also gives specific actions to point to rather than relying on "defiant" as a subjective definition.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Rename at 13:2 and split at 8:4, putting them both at or above 2:1. Need more votes, though.
Rename at +14 (16:2) and split at +8 (11:3). Should we call this now?

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I think we should wait a little more. Both have little opposition, and the second one seems to be growing.
Crowner has been up for nearly two weeks, though, and consensus is just growing stronger.
I only see one week.
Ten days. Week and a half.
Got it.
Maybe it could stay up for at least three more days, depending on how things go.
EDIT: I read back and noticed the two options are not mutually exclusive. Perhaps it could be called for both options.

I'd agree with that.
Since we're going to be doing a split, I suggest Badass Damsel be turned into a disambiguation page.
With over a thousand inbounds, that's a good idea.
Sounds to me like we are doing both options
Well, I sent a holler in a bit ago and nothing came of it. Still, for the moment we should begin thinking up new names. Damsel out of Distress is kinda clunky. Undistressed Damsel, perhaps?
If this one is getting renamed, then Damsel Scrappy should be looked at as well.
I don't see why. The "Damsel" isn't the problem.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOne point brought up in renaming Badass Damsel is that "damsel" has a completely different meaning and by shortening it, it essentially becomes Action Girl.
Damsel Scrappy is related to Damsel in Distress. Anyhow, there aren't any demonstrable problems with that name yet.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOkay...
I was referring to this.
By the same logic as "Badass Damsel = Action Girl", "Damsel Scrappy" = "Scrappy Who Is A Girl".
Thanks (not that I didn't knew already...) but that isn't enough for a rename, and questionable for a thread.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDamsel Scrappy seems perfectly clear to me. Character who is a scrappy because they are a damsel (in distress) and therefore a Damsel Scrappy. Nobody uses the word damsel anymore apart from that particular expression. The problem with this trope was the use of the word badass in the title and the fact that it was poorly distinguished from Badass in Distress.
I didn't pay attention to the argument against Badass. Whoops.
Anyways, crowner's still not called for both options.

Have mods been hollered to about it yet?
Crown Description:
Badass Damsel is a snowclone of Badass and it is poorly distinguished from Badass In Distress. This crowner will decide its definition. Note that the options are not mutually exclusive.
That thread's crowner doesn't have an option about defiant captives, just about refusing hospitality.
