Identity Impersonator is covered by the second definition of Second Super-Identity. Given II has more than twice as many wicks, I say cut the bit about type II on SSI, and then make a mention that it's related at the end.

Thoughts?

I moved the thread tag over to the other page.

Upon review, Agreed.

The question at hand is "is the motive behind the impersonation a significant distinction?" At this point, my answer is "Perhaps, but we already have Frameup for the 'discredit' route, so that Sub-Trope can be sent there; the only alternative Sub-Trope other than II's original purpose is 'profit off of a hero's deeds/coattails,' which, while significant enough to cite, is not significant enough of a Trope on its own."

So yeah, move Type 2 to Identity Impersonator except for those examples where the impersonated Hero is being discredited/framed, putting those examples under Frameup.

I am on board with this semi-split-and-merge proposal. How much consensus will we need for this?

Identity Impersonator is consensual on the part of the costumed hero, though. The very last line of the description links to Costume Copycat, which is when someone else takes the identity to steal their reputation.

The description for type II Second Super-Identity sounds like both.

Wasn't post 3 mostly about that distinction?

Yes, but it referred to the Frameup trope, not Costume Copycat.

Frameup is for crimes anyway.

That is a reason to do a partial three-way split.

So if I'm reading this right, seems like people are supporting:

Am I missing anything?

EDIT: Changed Frameup to Costume Copycat.

Pretty much (except with Costume Copycat instead of Frame-Up since that one's for crimes).

Yeah, I think there's only one suggestion out there.

Actually, nobody disagreed with this, so I would just be OK with getting more voices in support and do it.

Did the change, moved the examples off and updated the wicks.
