I found these fascinating videos examining how the characters act in the show compared to how their personalities are described in their official profiles. It's not even trying to bash the franchise, it's just a critical analysis of how the franchise seems at odds with itself.
Uh oh, I might waste all day watching these Sonic Dissected videos now that I know about them...
It's official! Boom heads to Hulu US later this month!
Now those of you who can't (or don't want to) watch the show on TV can finally enjoy it!
And for UK fans, the Volume 2: Hedgehog Day DVD is out May 30th.

We've recently got some info on season 2. It sounds like they'll be adding some of the things the fans have requested.
Wasn't the developer video they're basing this on stated to just be theoretical ideas they had?
They could become real. Also, does this mean that there may actually be a real plot this time around centered around Shadow maybe?
"We be we baby!"Sweet molerats on a stickI love how Shadow was The Comically Serious Only Sane Man.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm actually confused. In one scene he's sane man, complaining how everyone else is lame and cartoonish and in next he says that "shoddy craftsmanship" is something that proves Sonic deserves a beating.
In this continuity, Everything about Shadow is about his pride, not villainy per say. So "shoddy craftsmanship" is something he prides.
"We be we baby!"So last night at Sonic's 25th anniversary party, SEGA officially confirmed season 2. They also showed off a sneak peek, and I've gotta say, it seems like the visual quality of the show has improved a little from season 1.
See for yourselves!
Didn't end on a strong joke, but I liked the banter in the rest of the clip.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The mouth movements are noticeably different from how they were in the first season. I had heard that the characters looked more plastic-y in the sneak peek than they originally did, and I'd have to agree.
Coincidentally, I'm watching the Eggmoon episodes from Sonic X, which bears some resemblance to what we see in this clip.
Meh, it's fine for a sneak peek, but the writing still feels the same.
"We be we baby!"If anything, the writing looks worse.
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinSo Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice has some unlockable concept art, including a few pieces for season 2 of the show. Here's a video showing them off. Season 2 stuff starts at 6:59.
Looks promising. At least the locations sound like they'll be much more diverse.
Damn, those do look promising! Sonic going underwater with gear is a first, and having them travel to space is also cool, but why spacesuits? If I remember correctly from at least Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic could breath outside The Death Egg. Maybe just different physics.
"We be we baby!"So, we just might have a premiere date for Boom season 2, and it's only a little over three weeks away on October 29th!

That's actually earlier than I anticipated!
"We be we baby!"So, a little late, but... bad news. The show's apparently coming on an hour earlier when the new season premieres— 6:00 AM (EDT), to be precise. That's an even worse time, because almost no one who watches the show will get up then except the really dedicated (like me). Yet another brilliant scheduling move from CN.
I'm really getting sick of the show being treated like this. Guess we'll just have to show our support anyway and hope things get better.

Most of that stuff wasn't relevant or highly popular at the time. What they referenced were well known now. All of those awesome items were pretty nostalgic to note.
Also, AOSTH didn't go for major real world references. It was a slapstick comedy. Sonic Boom's comedy is more memetic and "noting nostalgic or things people talk about". The source of comedy both make sense depending the show.
I understand if you don't like how the jokes are written. I wouldn't call them legitimately topnotch. The humor isn't beyond great(I find it funny, but I do agree it's not that high quality). But the source is logical due to the nature of each show, as well as when the show was made. Very few shows way back when(90's, 80's) referenced a lot of toys like shows do nowadays. Humor changes with time. They reference what is popular in the actual past or current times(but that requires the show to be about references, in which it wasn't). Or make up stuff that could be from the future. The thing is, why would you expect AOSTH to really reference stuff like that when it doesn't really go references outside of a few character ideas at best, and stereotypical races(like the Outback/Australia). It doesn't make sense, really. Boom referencing stuff people heavily know about? Logical. You want to appeal to an audience. You either make jokes that they would know about(nostalgia), or ones that happened enough in the past to have some impact in real life. Beanie Babies, again, were highly popular.
You're comparing two vastly different shows. You shouldn't expect them to be similar because their source of comedy is entirely different. Slapstick VS Memes, more or less. CN nowadays is about forcing(or using well) memes, and all kinds of references. Much earlier CN shows weren't about that. Or most cartoons in general, especially slapstick.
