I hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhate. The reviews on AI, Sailor Moon, and Transformers. The Lorax is okay, but it's nothing you could just see in Lindsay's review, or in his review of The Cat In The Hat.

Again, the only ones I hate are his reviews for Sailor Moon and The Matrix.
Everything else is either decent or forgettable, barring some standouts.
I don't seeth with fury at the reviews of the Matrix movies. They just..... exist... to me. Nothing worth rewatching.
Actually, I kind of have to agree with Doug on the Matrix here. I just saw Dark City a week ago, and it's everything the Matrix should have been IMO. (And it was made before the Matrix, so it's also got that going for it.) Matrix just comes across as the 2nd rate action-movie version of Dark City, really.
... yeah the ending to the review of Matrix Revolutions was totally nonsensical and out of nowhere.
Translate: "I have never heard of Dark City."
It didn't help that the actor who played the leader of that group almost never appeared in NC reviews before.
I have indeed watched Dark City. While I do think it is a great film, with lots of details and the like, I still stand by The Matrix as my all time favorite film, and a better telling of the Platonic Cave.
Matrix to me is just much more memorable and inspired than Dark City. Not saying that the latter is bad, far from it, but the former just grabs me in a way that DC can't.
It is however, my third favorite of the Platonic Cave movies, behind Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Rebellion and The Matrix.

Question: I've noticed that a lot of the edits are calling the new episodes a 'reboot.' Why? It doesn't seem like one. I'm sorry if I sound annoying, I'm just confused. Also, if I don't post again for a while, it's because I'm going to bed. Night, friends!
I'm just tired of all the action movie reviews lately.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I'm watching the Angry Joe/Nostalgia Critic show down over Man of Steel. It's hilarious.
I miss when the NC did reviews for animated films and shows.
Huh, come to think of it, it's been a while since he reviewed something animated.
Just a person. He/him.Not since The Swan Princess review did he did this.
He did review Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and Care Bears Nutcracker Suite back in December.
Just a person. He/him..... I... don't think there's so law that says he can't do anymore animated films now. It just HAPPENS to have been a while since the last one. No big.
...And you both forget Foodfight.

I think everyone's been trying to forget Foodfight.
Probably talking about movies one would actually have expected kids to have watched.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Well, Rob Walker 'liked' a post to his public Facebook wall saying that Sharkboy and Lavagirl would be the next review.
That...is a weird movie. I'll give it credit for having a really weird type of creativity (probably because it was mostly written by a kid, and it's accurate to the little-kid type imaginary world) and a very unique visual style (not a good style, just really unique). The casting is bizarre, the 3D elements of the movie are either incredibly jarring or very badly done, the villains are just strange and the plot barely manages to be coherent, in that you can follow it, it just doesn't really make sense.
I actually rate it a bit above Spy Kids 3D if only because Sharkboy and Lavagirl is its own thing, instead of being a pre-existing franchise awkwardly crammed into a style and idea that doesn't really work.

Not Three Laws compliant. It's a product of Robert Rodriguez loving his children so much.
It's also a good example of why people usually just leave things literally written by children to webcomics.
Sharkboy and Lavagirl is pretty bad—I couldn't even get into it when I was a kid. Really, if I'm gonna watch a bad Robert Rodriguez kids' movie, I'll always go with Spy Kids 3-D. Stallone kills it in that movie, hamming it up like it's the last role of his life. It's so bad, but so cheesy and funny.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.It seems Doug is intent on covering more obscure 80s'&90s' drivel for the time being, as we've got another 'Was That Real' this week; this time, it's the Cowboys Of Moo Mesa, one of the many TMNT ripoffs from back in the day. (Okay, you can't exactly call cowboy cows a ripoff of, well, ninja turtles, but you can call a cheesy show about mutated animals derivative of another cheesy show with mutated animals. But I digress.)

It is a rip-off in that the producers saw how successful TMNT was and tried to strike lightning twice by jumping off its basic gimmick. Didn't work.
I remember seeing a You Tube comment that I think had 700 likes requesting the Nostalgia Critic to review sharkboy and Lavagirl.
I wonder if Doug himself saw this?
Other ones I'd love for him to review are: An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn (I absolutely HATE this movie) Barney's Big Adventure The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas Inspector Gadget 2 (yes, I know they were already reviewed on the website, but I love to see him take them on) My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (come on, you ALL want him to at least look at it) Problem Child Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie (maybe a crossover review with Little Kuriboh?)
No... I really wouldn't want him to deal with EQG.
Yeah it's a stupid, stupid movie with more plot holes then plot, and with an idiot ball embedded in every character's head except Spike... who makes up for it by being humiliated by being turned into a dog. So has tons of stuff to mock outside the continuity issues, but it's just how bad that stuff is that really escalates the thing to truly bad. Just how completely at odds it is with the show and how massive a drop in quality everything is, and how out of character Twilight gets.. yeah it's one of those while he could do a decent job, and the Diamanda review of it was alright, it's really better to go into that knowing more about the series to really know how messed up it is.
Actually, the Diamanda review pretty much made clear why, she ended with a "meh it's not great, kind of dumb in points, but harmless." type deal, and saying it's likely if you were a fan of the show you'd probably enjoy it, but if not, then you likely wouldn't. Pretty much expecting that EQG was average quality for MLP, when it's the worst thing from the G4 animation, and the most horribly put together story not written by Merriweather Williams. And even dumber then most of her stuff.
The only NC reviews I despised were the Sailor Moon and The Lorax ones. The former for lack of research and the latter for being way too preachy for my tastes (though I did like the Running Gag of him making fun of the Once-ler fangirls).
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."
