Good idea. And unlike most of our War On Straw pages, it seems like this would be a correct use of the term "strawman."
Concur.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAny preference? I like Strawman Ball a bit more, since it implies it's an existing character who's becoming the strawman.

Hop on over to this page and add them.By looking at the name alone, I thought that this was the idiot equivalent off Monster of the Week as well. Definitely needs a rename. If you're gonna snowclone a name, it should at least follow the same formula as the original. It also misuses The Watson in the description. This trope is just when someone in the main cast takes a wrong opposing viewpoint in an episode.
Strawman Ball is a good name.

I don't know which names to pick, really.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe trope doesn't seem all that heavily used, so a namechange might help with that.
Strawman Ball makes the most sense considering both itself and our own naming patterns.
Check out my fanfiction!Strawman Ball is good. Strawman Of The Week also works.
”Of the week" implies a one-shot character, like Monster of the Week. "Ball" implies that it's a recurring character whose turn it is to "hold the ball".
Well, if you look at the Ball Index and the Index of the Week, the difference is pretty clear. This trope is clearly better suited as a ball than a week.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Well, people like playing with balls.
Check out my fanfiction! We could also have Strawman For A Day, if we think Ball is overused/unclear.

Seems like there's a consensus for a name change.
Crowner to pick it?

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCrowner's hooked.
Bump for votes.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe crowner's been up for a week. Consensus is pretty clear. 12 to 0 for Strawman Ball. Let's call this.

Did the rename and tagging.
Only the discussion needs moving, then this can be closed.

Crown Description:
Current name makes it sound like there's a new idiot introduced every week. Given the fact the trope is actually about an existing character being a strawman for the current week, I say we change it to Strawman Of The Week or Strawman Ball.
