Fixed the tag.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOP is decent.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's clearly in a period schoolhouse, though. Between the dress, the decorations, the date on the blackboard... I think it's a pretty good illustration.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Indeed. Though I think it's more important that there is a blackboard than the date on it since that might not be clear at a small size. It looks just like one of those schools, though. +1
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Where is the picture from? I think it's fairly good, too.
I found it on flickr.com when I Googled schoolmarm. It's labeled as "Schoolmarm waiting for class to begin in 1886 at Conner Prairie Interactive history museum"
What did I do wrong in the tag? I created it as a link but it wasn't linking.
I like it but I think it needs to be cropped, partly for size but also to remove the American flags so it's no longer country-specific (although I believe this is a fairly American-oriented trope).
I think the crop should start with the top left corner just beyond the "school term" notices (so they show) and the bottom right corner allowing the bottom of her hand and the bell on the desk to show.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMWhat's the original look like at wiki-size? I think the American flags are fine, to be honest. I don't get the feeling it's country-specific any more than it's redhead-specific. Plus, it helps establish the image as set in the past (especially if you crop out the date) since those are noticeably older flags.
However, if it doesn't work at wiki size then your suggestions for cropping sound fine.

And shrunk to 250px wide:

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMTall images are usually too large at maximum width. I suggest 250.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMActually, the images in 13 are pretty badly compressed. I'm a-seein' rainbows where they shouldn't be, which is why I usually avoid jpgs. We have a 200 kb limit, so we might as well use it. This is a downsized original at 300 width, but the top and border are cropped, so I think it should look good wiki size.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. That looks good.
I don't generally like posed pics, but it works despite that.
Check out my fanfiction!I'd rather it be cropped at the bottom instead of the top to make it look more like she's in the western frontier as the page says.
Including the flags would make her look more like she's in the American western frontier. Anyone else think that matters?
To compare. I probably prefer the variant without flags.
I prefer #16. The old style clothes, desk, blackboard, and bell sell it much better than the flags. The picture between the flags is better than the flags themselves.

Check out my fanfiction! Both takes are good, but I lean toward 16.
Add my vote for 16
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI vote for my crop as well.

I found this◊ and I thought it would make a good image. My only concern is that it's probably too big.
