Now I kinda wanna make a fanfic of that Z-Warrior Futurecop idea.

Nope.

While I don't recall Vegeta transforming to SSJ 2, he does transform into a Super Saiyan, and retains the ability to do so.

Funny thing. Back when I first watched Dragonball Z (it was the sixth movie with Cooler), it was all still in Japanese, so I didn't understand the context at all.

I actually nicknamed Vegeta the space cop, cause that's what he looked like. Well, that was one of his nicknames. His primary nickname was the other guy who can make his hair blonde, to match Goku being the guy who can make his hair blonde.'

Krillin was The little bald kid since his voice prevented me from realizing he was an adult, Gohan was the kid who used to have a monkey's tail, since I noticed he had one in the opening theme, Piccolo was the green alien dude cause he looked Bad Ass, and he literally was a green alien dude], Oolong was the talking pig, Roshi was the old man and Yajirobe was The fat-ass.

Yeah, I didn't put much effort into those names, I'll admit it.

Also, totally agree about random space cop being as strong as Vegeta being bullshit. It's pretty clear that beings like the Supreme Kais set the standard for power, and then after they died, Frieza. The Androids, Cell, and Buu were anomalies, and Beerus is from a different plane of existence, so I call bullshit on this Space cop suddenly existing (why weren't these guys kicking Frieza's ass?) all of a sudden.

So, I watched the first Broly movie last night. Man, that opening with Chi-Chi trying to coach Goku about gaming the interview system for Gohan... my heart goes out to the poor woman, it really does. Being Chi-Chi is suffering.

Seriously, guys. In hindsight? The more I see any of Goku and Chi-Chi's interactions, the more I sympathize with wifey instead of The Hero. If any of us had to put up with a deadbeat Blood Knight Idiot Hero for a spouse, I'm sure we'd have a bad temper and get cranky a lot too. And yet for all that he unintentionally pisses her off (to be fair, Goku DOES canonically suffer from brain damage), she still loves him a lot, as can be seen from how much she worries about Goku when he goes off to fight the supervillain of the day.

Truly, my respect for Chi-Chi is ever on the rise.

She's the only woman who can stand him. He's the only man who can stand her. They're made for each other.

So I'm thinkin'. To keep the power levels from being so stupidly obscene that I vomit every time I type, let's assume that four hundred years after the events of DBZ, that the bloodline power boost has diluted so significantly that the most anyone can hope for is 50,000, maybe 100,000. This allows the spacecops to get involved space business without creating bullshit ultracreatures that are more powerful than Frieza, the most powerful being in the universe aside from the Eldritch Abominations that were the Saiyans. That way, things like Super Saiyan have meaning again.

You could manage the low millions, I think. Especially since if your story takes place in space, there could be several anomalies the likes of which the Ginyu Force could have been called in to face, or the likes of which would have made Frieza resort to his second form. Even Guldo, the black-sheep of the Ginyu Force, was stronger than Raditz, who was stronger than either of the island-busters on Earth at the time. If power levels in the 10,000s were really super uncommon in the DB-verse, there'd hardly be any point to Frieza's elites wearing scouters. Plus, there's a huge, mostly-unexplored gap between Frieza's second form and his final power level, that could be reserved for your top-tier OCs.

The leader of the Ginyu Force was rounding at somewhere around 120k, IIRC. That's, short of Freeza, the guy who was the most powerful warrior in the galaxy. This is the big stick Freeza keeps everyone in line with.

Generally speaking, if any except the very top tier of your OC organization outdo the Ginyu force, you're doing it wrong, because the kind of power that the Z Fighters boast is an abomination on the universe and is incredibly far from the norm. Freeza built a massive empire where there was absolutely nobody that could even begin to pose a challenge.

You know, something that Battle of Gods made me wonder about is...

Why didn't the Supreme Kais ask for help from the then current God of Destruction? If he, she or it had a power level on a level comparable to Beerus', Majin Buu would've been laughably easy to kill... Hm, maybe the then current God of Destruction was a colossal jerkwad. Kind of like Beerus. Would make sense, I guess.

Why would the God of Destruction want to kill Buu? He was doing so much destruction!

Back to the Supercops: I was gonna keep them tied to Earth, but it might be cool to have them explore the other three galaxies, too.

Because he was stealing his thunder, of course. Also because it might be fun to fight Buu?

You gotta find a way, man.

I figure the God of Destruction would be cool with just seeing shit explode, no matter the cause. And if Buu was so trifling beneath him, the God could sneeze if he got too uppity and be done with it.

That is assuming that the God of Destruction at the time could take Buu, though, which is not necessarily true...

I'm just curious, has anyone actually made a genuine attempt to merge the DB universe with Street Fighter's? There would have to be a bit of time period shifting, but considering the DB universe is already strange in terms of tech and it doesn't use any real-world year/calender system, one can easily get away with a lot, really.

How I'd have things probably mix up to the end of the Freeza Saga:

• 21st World Martial Arts Tournament: A younger Sagat enters the tournament, takes on Goku in the semi-finals and wins narrowly, only to be defeated by Jackie Chun. The whole event, as expected, is televised and viewed by many up-and-coming fighters, including a young Ryu and Ken.
• Red Ribbon Army Saga: While taking on the Red Ribbon Army, Goku also encounters cells of an early Shadaloo, including a younger M. Bison, who takes note of the youth's power.
• 22nd WMAT: Sagat loses to Tien, if narrowly, thanks to Chiaotzu rigging the fight under Master Shen's orders. Sagat is not happy when he discovers this during Goku and Tien's fight, but later accepts Tien's apology. M. Bison is, of course, monitoring the tournament.
• Demon King Piccolo Saga: Sagat volunteers to help with the resistance effort against the newly-revived King Piccolo, proving himself a valuable ally. Gouken even leaves his students to help fight Piccolo and his forces, knowing the gravity of the situation. When Piccolo regains his youth, Akuma attacks him, proving to be so powerful that Piccolo and Goku are forced to join forces to drive him off. Gouken almost steps in on Goku and Piccolo's final battle, with the intent of finishing the Demon King himself, but he is satisfied that he did not need to.
• 23rd WMAT: Ryu and Ken enter the tournament themselves, now young adults, and quickly become friends with Goku and co. Other young Street Fighters enter as well (including Chun Li and Charlie). Akuma watches the tournament from afar with interest, while M. Bison plans to hijack it and brainwash the strongest warriors, but his plan is foiled halfway through the tournament. Ryu fights Sagat, accidentally taps into the Satsui-No-Hadou and scars him, which does not go unnoticed by the other fighters, who are concerned by the dark power inside of him. Regardless, he goes on to fight Goku, but narrowly loses. Ken fights Piccolo, but is also defeated.
• The interim before the arrival of the Saiyans: The events of Alpha 3 occur, Ryu is brainwashed by M. Bison, who also kidnaps Gohan. You can pretty much guess how this ends for him.
• Arrival of Raditz: Raditz shows up, proceeds to chase down the strongest power levels on Earth while looking for Goku. In the process, he curbstomps M. Bison, who is still reeling from his previous humiliation, and finds a shockingly powerful opponent in the form of Akuma. Ryu and Ken arrive too late to prevent Goku's self-sacrifice.
• The Year-Long Interim: Pretty much everyone trains for the arrival of the Saiyans.
• Vegeta and Nappa: As usual, it turns out everyone is still under-prepared for the Saiyans, and only Akuma's intervention prevents further casualties. Nappa finds himself on the receiving end of a beating, but Akuma is easily defeated by Vegeta, who steps in early, intrigued by the Satsui-No-Hadou, wishing to get a feel of its power to figure out if he could potentially use it himself. However, Akuma witnesses Goku's newly-learned Kaio-Ken technique, and from sensing the saiyan's ki flow, is able to use his own mastery of the dark hadou to recreate the technique, causing the final fight of the saga to become a three-way battle, though it still devolves into a gigantic drawn-out clusterfuck following Vegeta's Oozaru transformation.
• The Trip To Namek: Sakura actually volunteers to join the expedition to Namek (along with Ken, Chun-Li and Guile), and it turns out she has the same sort of terrifying potential that Gohan does, but in a different way. Ryu stays behind, and joins Goku when he finally gets healed and heads off for Namek, training together on the ship. They soon figure out that while humans lack the natural fighting power that Saiyans have, their slightly different physiology allows humans to tap into power that other races are incapable of using, including the Power of Nothingness and Satsui-No-Hadou.
• Namek Saga: Vegeta goes on a rampage as usual, while the Earth group, coordinated by Guile, performs hit-and-run operations to capture the Dragon Balls and hinder Freeza's operations. M. Bison shows up with a large contingent of Shadoloo agents, and directly confronts Freeza, having used the analysis of the Saiyans to greatly improve his Psycho Drive and new body, and is even able to push Freeza to second form, but the galactic dictator destroys him. The human Street Fighters, after having their potentials unlocked by Guru, put up an admirable fight against the Ginyu Force, but Goku and Ryu's intervention saves everyone. Both Ryu and Goku are possessed by Captain Ginyu, who actually manages to accidentally use the Satsui-No-Hadou in Ryu's body, but he ends up finding it so horrifying due to his alien psyche that he ejects from Ryu's body as soon as he has the chance before it drives him mad.
• Freeza Saga: Freeza, as usual, spends a lot of time beating everyone up while gradually changing forms, but the number of people fighting him causes him to have a harder time of it than in canon until his final form. Even Ryu and Goku double-teaming Freeza doesn't help much. When Goku uses the Spirit Bomb, Ryu is forced to fight Freeza alone to buy time, but in a moment of clarity, taps into the Hado Kakusei, becoming Freeza's match for a short time, even putting the dictator on the ropes, but when the power-up stops, he's too exhausted to help Goku further when the latter goes Super Saiyan.

From then on, the focus is probably on Ryu continuing his inner journey, and both Gohan and Sakura's growth, eventually becoming powerful enough to not only beat the crap out of Cell, but also eventually take down Buu. I'd also imagine Vegeta's character development being affected by possibly seeing Akuma as a reflection of what he might become if he continued his single-minded obsession with surpassing Goku. Also, Cell and Seth could potentially come to blows, and perhaps even become rivals in their own right, due to their similarities. Gill would probably play a major role in the Buu saga, or, alternatively, Battle of Gods.

Though, again, that's probably how I'd do it, dunno how others would handle things.

You would have to scale the Street Fighter characters up drastically. Dragonball Z kind of outclasses it from very early on.

Well, duh, that's fairly obvious, and not exactly difficult - Capcom themselves do it regularly for the Marvel Vs. Capcom games, for example, if the setting allows it, there's a lot of leeway. In Dragon Ball, even regular humans can become powerful enough to easily bring down the likes of the Ginyu Squad with the right training. And from that point, it becomes a lot easier to scale up stuff like the Mudo-No-Ken, Satsui-No-Hadou and Psycho Power exponentially, and the Street Fighters don't need to match the Z Warriors at the same time regularly - the Mudo-No-Ken is significantly more difficult to achieve than becoming a Super Saiyan, and in this context, likely a lot more powerful.

Dan is still a joke, though. Even Yamcha can kick his ass. But at least he's in good company with Hercule. Oh, so much potential for hilarity.

Also, Dan could still beat the shit out of Hercule. The fact that Dan can do even the shittiest fascimile of a fireball is more than Hercule or Videl could ever dream of.

What-if: What was the reason Goku still caught the Heart Virus in canon? Well, whatever, let's say TFS was accurate and he just didn't take the medicine. Well.

What-if: Goku did take the medicine, like Chi-Chi forced him to because she decided she wanted another child even earlier, and that boy was going to have a father.

So Goku doesn't succumb to the virus and spend most of the Android Saga in a bed. He actually beats the stuffing out of 19 before Vegeta showed up, revealing himself as a Super Saiyan as well. Vegeta swears to beat the living crap out of Goku as soon as the Androids are out of the way. They target Gero, but Gero manages to get away since they can't sense him (and Goku can't follow him with Instant Transmission).

Goku and Vegeta chase Gero to the mountains and encounter 17 and 18... and... writer's block.

Well, I got to admit, I wouldn't have thought of that, but you seem to have put a great deal of thought into it.

All that Goku not succumbing to the Heart Virus would do would be to make him there for the Androids and Cell, so he wasn't completely out of the loop, but he'd still be as outclassed as everyone else.

Mr. Satan legitimately won the Strongest Under the Heavens Tournament. While he is a joke compared to the Z fighters, he is far from a joke when you remove them from the equation. So much so that he'd probably be really fucking high tier as a Badass Normal in the Street Fighter universe. Videl is actually stronger than him, too.

And still neither of them could even dream of throwing even the most rudimentary fireball. Dan only seems like a useless shitbag because he was a character specifically designed to be a joke, fighting alongside seven foot tall Russian Monstermen and Demons and Kung Fu Hobos.

Mr. Satan might not be able to throw a ki blast... but he has no idea how to do it, or if it can even be done by humans in the first place. Given that the people he saw doing it at the Cell Games weren't at the Tournament and that the grand majority of them look like freaks of nature one way or another, it's possible he might assume it's flat out impossible.

Also, his point about them being 'tricks' would be defeated if he started using them himself anyway.

By saying that Mr. Satan is stronger, I don't mean to say Dan is weak or shit or whatever. I'm just saying that Mr. Satan is not the pansy people like to think he is.

I don't know why you think that being able to throw a crappy little fireball makes Dan stronger than Mr. Satan.

x6: Unless that was just filler, you do remember Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu handing the Ginyu Force its collective behind (except for Ginyu himself) on King Kai's planet, right?

x5: Eh, I didn't put THAT much thought into it (otherwise I would've done the entire bloody series), but it was a nice creative experiment.

Also, as for Dan and Mr. Satan, I'd say they're roughly equal, but with Mr. Satan generally being more competent. Sure, Dan kinda sucks in canon compared to the rest of the cast, but depending on the writer, he can be smarter and more proficient than he seems, he's also a Lethal Joke Character when used correctly, and is genuinely competitive in some games. There is still a point to be made about him being a ki-user as well, his uppercuts have a chance to be goddamn invincible. Granted, Mr. Satan has also won multiple world tournaments in a row, so he probably rivals the strongest badass normals in Street Fighter at least, so it's difficult to judge.

Still, they're also both enormous showoffs. The difference being that one of them has actually earned the right to be one.

Yes, the stuff with the humans on Kai's planet is filler. As far as we are shown, Tien and friends basically did dick-all on King Kai's planet. The Ginyu force were the strongest beings in the entire galaxy outside of Frieza, and even Captain Ginyu, with a power level of 120,000, was hopeless against Frieza, whose power was in the millions. The only reason why we think that the Ginyus are not powerful is that the Saiyans are unholy abominations more powerful than the Gods.
