I should probably have used the humor mode tag earlier. Not decrying your depiction, just trying to add to the joke.

I took it as constructive critique, so no harm done.

Since it doesn't feel like there's enough mayhem just using Shinji and the Nerima crew, any other crossovers come to mind I might throw in?

Nope.

Although, maybe I can find a way to work Liquid in there somehow...

I'm sure I would've remembered them sooner or later.

Also, Hyper, while I've sort-of got your attention, can ya check out my latest post on the Gundam fanfic thread and give me your thoughts?

Something seems off about Allelujah's reaction, but it's not something I can put my finger on. Other than that, my main thought is wondering if this is some sort of Transformers crossover.

Yeah, I'm sure that Allelujah was a bit off. I tried to give the impression that he took Setsuna's claim for a joke at first (first time for everything, right?).

And no, it's not a Transformers crossover. It does become a Crisis Crossover of the Gundam franchise later on, though.

Basically, the fic's premise boils down to "Instant A.I.: Just Add Water! as applied to everything bearing the name 'Gundam'." Exia's characterization will become much more apparent in the next snippet, whenever I can manage to find a closing for it.

There. I think that's the problem. Setsuna doesn't joke, so Allelujah wouldn't take it as a joke. He would probably conclude that the Exia was being stolen.

Yeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah I probably should change that. Thing is, Setsuna would know if it had been stolen. I mean, he saw it literally get up and walk away. If it had been stolen, he would've said so, wouldn't he?

<sigh> Probably thinking too hard.

Next snippet will attempt to inject actual humor into it.

It could have been that someone took control of it remotely. Or that they managed to get into it without being seen. Or even that someone implanted it with a basic A.I. With instructions to take the Gundam to a preset location.

Edit: Is it just me, or is it kind of odd that we're discussing Gundam00 in the Dragonball fanfic thread.

I also replied in the Gundam thread, but you didn't respond again there, so the discussion just kind of wound up being here.

Back to the 'bunch of crossover people seeking out the Dragon Balls' thing for a moment, thinking of throwing in [[Anime/{{Pokémon}} Team Rocket]].

.... I was about to do their In the Name of the Moon speech, and suddenly I can't properly remember how it goes.

Remember that dead fic I mentioned on page one where Yamcha runs into Raditz, pulls off a fluke victory, is subsequently abducted by Gero, and Goku arrives just in time to find Piccolo and now recovered Raditz duking it out with no sign of Yamcha anywhere? It updated. Three times.

So yeah, it doesn't seem to be dead anymore.

Down With The Sickness: In the years between the Cell and Buu sagas, an alien ship crash lands onto earth. It carries a stasis frozen Black Band Saiyan, a saiyan with Auto Mutation Syndrome, a disease that causes the power levels of the infected to skyrocket, random mutations to occur, and locks the infected into a mad rage. And in saiyans, causes them to transform into the Oozaru state whenever they are conscious. The worst part: if anyone infected with Auto Mutation Syndrome dies, the disease immediately converts into an extremely lethal variant that kills anything it comes into contact with and spreads on a galactic scale. And it's contagious...

So between Bringer of Death, Fall of the Tyrant Frieza, and...the Radditz one, which of the Fan Fics with its own tropes page is superior?

The Raditz one? Are you talking about Break Through the Limit?

I've yet to read The Fall Of Lord Freeza, but I like Break Through The Limit more than Bringer of Death. Part of it is probably due to me not being a huge Vegeta fan, and Bringer of Death is all about Vegeta. Break Through the Limit, on the other hand, does a fairly good job of giving everyone their time in the spotlight (even if Goku and Raditz do spend more time there than anyone else). Plus, Break Through the Limit is further along than Bringer of Death and has fewer OCs, which is always a plus in my book.

And on that note, there's a new chapter of Bringer of Death.

Naming Coventions.

Over the last few days, Vegeta had been acting strange. Which meant stranger than usual. Even moodier, but in that childish way he would put up when he wanted to say something but refused to appear like he was asking for it. Because he didn't ask, he commanded, see, but at the same time, he apparently thought commanding about the small, family things made him look like he cared at all, and that somehow couldn't be.

Regardless, he ended up breaking down enough to hand Bulma a list, without bothering to look at her as he did so. "Not like I care," he mumbled, "But if it's a boy, here's a list of the names I have decreed for him."

Bulma read aloud, "Vegeta III, Vegeta Junior, Johnny Vegeta, Prince Vegeta, Vegeta the Third, Kid Vegeta, Lesser Vegeta, Vegetaro, Better than Gohan Vegeta, Successor of Vegeta, Vegetamaru, Vegeta Light... hmmm. Wait, so your father was the first King Vegeta? I thought all of you took the name of your planet."

"Hm? Oh, no, no. My grandfather was named Walter."

"Ah. Cute. Anyway, I decided we'll call him Trunks."

"WHAT?-!"

"There only can be one Vegeta, don't you think?"

"..."

"I mean, aren't you always ranting about how unique you are...?"

"But... But, naming MY son after underwear...!"

"*I* am named after underwear!"

"— you are?"

"'Bulma' is a deformation of 'Bloomers'!"

He laughed. "What? A deformation? Was your father talking with a potato in his mouth when he gave your name to the register?"

Dr. Briefs peeked in. "Does that sound like the kind of name you'd proudly announce in a crystal clear voice for your daughter?"

"DAD!" Bulma yelled.

"It was your mother's idea! I never wanted it, but—!"

Vegeta raised an eyebrow. "Wait. 'Briefs' is your last name, so I thought you had—"

"Oh, no, it wasn't MY last name. It was my wife's."

Bulma sipped from her cup of coffee, frowning. "Like someone else, he married into money..."

"THAT NEVER WAS MY INTENT!" both men jumped defensively, before Dr. Briefs added, "And scientific research demands for a lot of funds!" before walking away, mumbling to himself.

Vegeta looked at Bulma. "Then... what is his first name, anyway?"

"Walter. Funny, huh?"

Vegeta blinked.

I'm not sure if this belongs here or the Fanfic idea's thread but anyway.

I had this idea for a story. Right around the time of the battle with Cell, some sort of mystical entity or entity's decide he is such a threat that they grant Reality Warper levels of power to one of the strongest fighters on Earth. However this is only for a very short amount of time (equal to or less than 60 seconds).

Unfortunately, they just so happen to choose Mr. Satan, while he is claiming to have defeated Cell. As a result he becomes exactly as powerful as he boasts, and as a result of claiming ki attacks are "tricks" they become just that.

I'm not exactly sure which direction this story would take from there though.

Interesting.

Right now, I'm looking at all the ways to increase power-levels in order to create different fights. The known methods are:

  • Training;
  • the Sacred Water;
  • both methods of Fusion;
  • The Majin power-up;
  • Elder-Kai's power up ritual;
  • Guru's pulling out of hidden potential
  • and Cyborg conversion

I'm looking at a good way to, for example, allow Bojack's gang to match up against the Kaioshin gods. They were all weaker than Super Saiyan 2, and outside of East Kaioshin / Supreme Kai, the power levels of the other Supreme Kais is unknown outside of being much stronger then Frieza, being obviously weaker than Buu, and East Kaioshin being the weakest of them.

It seems like he was possibly weaker then Super Saiyan 2 (otherwise he wouldn't have backed off when Goku threatened him back when Babidi was trying to make him fight Vegeta), but that doesn't say anything about the power levels of the rest of them. Then again, Kid Buu was also much weaker than Super Buu, and possibly even Fat Buu before they were separated.

It's hard to gauge really.
