I'd like a better image. There's way to much going on here to tell what's going on. 1.1 is not clear at all. 1.2 is better, but I'd like something that shows the points as they occur:
1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000, 100000, 1000000!
Something like that.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.1.1 is barely legible, but 1.2 is good. An actual gameplay scene would be a bonus, but it has the huge number which is what the trope is all about. It's certainly better than the current.
Agreed.
Not a videogame exaple, but this video is a pretty funny case with those ridiculous combos.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. As long as looks good at wiki size, I'm good with it.
Bump...in , the text isn't very clear at wiki size. This is better (at 350):

Didn't we use to have an image somewhere from a game showing like a million bajillion points?
I recall we used to have an image from Giga Wing showing a score with over a dozen digits. I have no idea why it was changed.
Edit: Found the original one.◊

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I wish we could find a photograph of a pinball backboard showing how many points each target, bumper, etc scores. They usually start with 10 points then jump to 20, 30, 50 and so on. We could then have a caption "What happened to 1-9, 11-19, 21-29, 31-49...?"
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DM9's not bad, but I prefer the fighting game pic.
7's not bad, but I prefer the Shoot 'Em Up pic. The numbers are more in focus and easier to read.
Check out my fanfiction!I'd like a zoomed crop of 7. There's not enough focus on the number, what with the explosion and giant robot going on on the other side. A zoomed in version with that cut out would be more clear.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. How's this?
That's a lot better. Which to me puts it at about equal to the other one. Either is fine.
Check out my fanfiction!15 is acceptable to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt could be better, but 15 is good enough for a from me.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMCrowner's hooked. I'm not where I can look at links right now, so if someone can beef up the description for 1.2, that'd be appreciated.
Pre-weekend bump for votes.
One week after the last bump, is this the best we're going to get, and if so, is it a strong enough result to act on?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Much too close.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's not close any more.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. This is beyond ready to call. The new pic is up (and cropped and resized as it was over the size limit), potholed, and tagged. Caption or no?
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The trope is "excessively long score", not "numbers... numbers everywhere", hence this image (confusing as it is) doesn't illustrate the trope.
Better example, one◊ or two◊. That's clearer, if anything.
