Finally watched Bolt today, and it was a much better movie than I was expecting. Nowhere in the Top 10 of the Animated Canon, buuuuut maybe worth the lower section of the Top 15.
I have a question after doing a bit of online research: Is it true that almost all Disney sequels were released Direct-to-Video as a result of The Rescuers Down Under underperforming at the box office?
No, it isn't.
First of all, Rescuers Down Under was neither the first nor the last Sequel which got released in canon. The first one was "The three Caballeros", and it prompted Walt Disney to rule that his studio would never do another sequel again. In fact, he generally didn't like to repeat himself and wanted to do something different with every movie. The next sequel the Disney Studios brought in Theatres was "Fantasia 2000" which, as the title suggest, came out during the high of direct to video cheapquels. And the last one was Winnie the Pooh.
Second, a few of the cheapquels actually had a limited theatrical release. The animation studio was really unhappy about it because it watered down the brand.
The cheapquels were just a quick cash-grab, made by minor studios on a low budget.

But Fantasia 2000 was NOT Direct-to-Video. It's confusing, I know.
He outright said The next sequel the Disney Studios brought in Theatres was "Fantasia 2000"
Swanpride is a she, Overmaster. And yes, I miss Pikaflash like fuck so Im calling you Overmaster to keep it alive.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Fairly off topic, but does anyone happen to know any good non-Disney animated versions of some of the stuff Disney's adapted into movies?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I dont know Aldo why dont you make a new topic about that? I know the reason is that hardly anyone would post there but still.

The prince must have employed enough people as to fill a whole small village, as I realized mid-way through Be Our Guest.

That plus it does kind of have to do with Disney.
Probably somebody has, and has sacrificed his social life in turn.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I pity the poor servant who became the toilet.
What they became seems to have been based on their old appearance and jobs. Maybe he used to be a sailor.

Well, the Beast had long started behaving like an animal, so odds are he had stopped using the toilet anymore and instead did his business outside, or something. And Belle would be too nice as to do it on anyone's face.
@Aldo No animated movies. Though Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates is an animated series which was quite good (sadly Disney has the rights now and will most likely hide it for eternity to ensure that their version stays the same).
Apparently live-action Beauty and the Beast is adding a new character, or should I say, a new animated object. So how much animated furniture is that going to total overall?
I watched The Princess and the Frog and Tangled for the first time last month. As two Disney Princess movies in the Revival Era, they both had their strengths and weaknesses. I still enjoyed them, though.
I'm hoping to watch Wreck-it-Ralph next because I admit I'm a video gamer and I would love the references/cameos it showcases.
So I've heard. It does have Tim Curry in it, after all...

Just for the record, Wreck It Ralph is strong enough on its own that all the references and cameos could come across as more distracting than anything.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. They are not needed. Since I am not a gamer I didn't even knew most of them other than the most obvious ones. But I didn't mind them either, especially since they kept them in the terminal.
What they became seems to have been based on their old appearance and jobs. Maybe he used to be a sailor.
Wasn't that just a Robot Chicken joke?

I've spent a bit of time looking into the movies that came out this century. Apparently Disney has been experimenting with their movies; Wreck-It Ralph was meant to appeal to gamers, Big Hero 6 was meant to appeal to superhero fans, and so forth.
I've also researched quite a bit of the upcoming movies even before I watched Big Hero 6 because I'm rather curious about them. With Pixar releasing 2 movies this year, Disney will release Zootopia and Moana the following year, presumably Pixar will release a movie or two in 2017, and Giants will get a 2018 release. Sometimes online research can be fun if you want to learn more about something.
Other than the 1990s during which Disney kind of got stuck with their formula, they always have experimenting to a certain degree.
The same reason Roman on RWBY just looks and dresses like Alex DeLarge instead of doing all of his bad guy shtick.
