Night-Vision Goggles don't have a page image yet. Then I watched this GEICO commercial and I was wondering if we could combine these two shots to create one image for this trope.

Of course, if anyone got a good picture that shows both the goggles and the vision through it, that would be ideal.

P.S. I wonder why the trope description is so focused on how it is used wrong in fiction.

That's a suggestion that could work.

Description is focused on wrong because default use of anything science is Hollywood. So to speak.

How's this?

"We see you, Ralph!" "Yep, totally see you."

I see the trope in them, but one problem with the upper one is that at first glance it looks like a zombie animal or somesuch.

3 [tup] Love it. But why does the caption say "Ralph"? They say:

"We can see you, Carl!"
"We can totally see you."

The image is really cool. [awesome] It should be on the page already. Or do we need more support?

One or two more votes and we can run with it.

[up]The first thing I thought about when I clicked this thread was that commercial (well, first I thought about Sam Fisher, so I guess it was the second thing) so here's another vote.[tup]

A most amusing image; up and tagged. What do we pothole it to?

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Well,it is a GEICO commercial. I'm surprised we don't have a page for GEICO. idea I think we should make one. In the meantime, a hyperlink to the commercial in the caption would suffice.

The ad can be added to the examples list.

Maybe this? (with apologies to Jurassic Park)

"You see the lion, and you laugh and gloat because your +8 to Visual Acuity has ruined his hunting. You look at him, and he looks right back...and that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the sides, from the lionesses you didn't even know were there. Because the lion has women who do his dirty work for him."

I can trim some fat off (especially the last bit) but I had to get that down or it would bug me for the rest of the day.

Eh, worth a shot...might be a fun way to set up a Playing With page at some point. The quote from the commercial is fine.
