I think what he did was born of ignorance, not an attempt to hook people in with controversy or anything like that. I hate how his fans are acting, I hate how he couldn't leave that last snippet out of the guestbook, but I do not hate the stupid kid enough to believe he signed the guestbook out of an attempt to intentionally disrespect the dead.
Come sail your ships around me, and burn your bridges down.I think you guys are over-blowing this. XD
Let's just pretend he doesn't exist.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Heheh.
I don't particularly care about Anne Frank, but anything that makes people go off Bieber has to be good.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'To be honest, it seems to be "cool" to insult Justin Bieber and his music. Have you guys seen You Tube comments? A number of them single him out as the person to insult.
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!Eh, by now I stopped caring myself. There is no use in getting worked up over this shit. Especially, since there are people who just use that incident to bash him, without even caring about the whole matter in itself. Ironically, they probably have less respect for Anne Frank than Bieber, who probably meant to be respectful, but was hindered by the fact that he is an egocentric, ignorant twit.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.You know, thinking about it...what did he really say? I think it translates to:
"I hope she would have liked my music/me."
Unfortunate phrasing and maybe not the thing to write in a guestbook...but I know that when I read the diary of Anne Frank, I wondered whether we would have gotten along. If I had ever been to the Anne Frank house, I might even have written something along those line. (When I was thirteen, but...meh, it's no secret that child have trouble growing up 'normally').
In fact, I still sometimes wonder whether we'd have gotten on. Should I be stoned now?
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. It's been said why what Bieber said was inappropriate several times already. :V
I know. I'm trying to point out that it wasn't all that inappropriate, when you boil it down to what he probably meant.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. We don't know what he meant. And regardless of what he actually meant, his comment was just... stupid.
Wait...Does Kay have a MLP avatar? D:
True, we don't know that, but everyone seems to be dead set on interpreting that line in the worst way possible. If he just meant to say 'I hope we'd have gotten on', that comment isn't stupid at all. Just very unfortunately phrased. Those are different things.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple. What kay said.
Yeah you can twist it around to something worse than it actually is as much as you can turn it into something not as bad as it is, it's still disrespectful as shit to walk into what's essentially a holocaust museum and go "yeah she was cool but she would've liked my music" like a pompous self-centered asshole.
Then again, most celebrities are pompous, self centered assholes. #OhSnap
Saying "I hope we would've gotten along" isn't the same as saying "I hope she would've liked my music". That's like a cereal company saying "We like to think Anne Frank would've liked Corn Flakes". The former is just a sentiment, the latter is self promotion.

Yeeeees.
And several people have acknowledged exactly that, but then added that it was dumb regardless of his intentions.

Also, nobody's mentioned this...But seriously, he wrote "belieber"? -_-
... And thus the book was forever tainted by darkness.
Burn the book. Burn the house. Burn germany. It's the only way to be sure it doesn't spread.
Burn Austria too 'cuz kay's there.

Anne Frank's house is in The Netherlands.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver! That was the joke.
Up until this point I had no opinion on him besides feeling that he was a little overhyped. Maybe I felt a little sorry for him that he was thrust into the spotlight before he was ready to handle it.
Now? Go to hell bieber.
On second thought, I like to think ms frank wouldn't want people to be angry at him.
In spite of everything, I believe everyone is good at heart If she can say that about nazis, we can give a 19 year old douchbag singer the benefit of the doubt.

He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI heard about this on the radio, and while I don't think he meant any harm, it just wasn't the place to do what he did.
I remember hearing that after he tweeted about it, there were a bunch of girls going "OMG Who is Anne Frank and why is he sleeping over at her house with her?". Just goes to show how intelligent some of his fans are. :p.

I don’t even know anymore.Trust me, it ain't just his fans. There are a lot of people with that same general level of awareness.
I'll be optimistic and err on the side of guessing it was just some people joking around with some black humor.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Especially because that exact joke was the basis for that onion article linked to a couple pages ago.
