That doesn't count, it's purpose is demonstration, not recreating reality.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIt still makes me cringe when I watch it. Even though it's purpose is educational, it's just...euuugh!
gendo ikari is my fursonaIt's probably done on a minuscule budget, so you can forgive it for not looking like an X-Box game.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIndeed. I doubt that we'd need to spend millions on an educational video. It was just that this first video came to mind when I thought about bad cgi, so I thought it would be a good example of what I'm talking about.

gendo ikari is my fursonathis could very easily become a complaint thread. as a friend, i'm telling you to watch it.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I'll do my best to be careful. This thread is mostly out of personal curiosity...for some reason, crappy cgi interests me. But if need be, we can let the thread die if things get bad.
gendo ikari is my fursonaThere are a lot of kiddie DVDs that I see at Walmart but never anywhere else. Most of them have downright awful writing and animation. Off the top of my head, I remember:
- Jock the Hero Dog — also seen it show up on Netflix. A friend of mine saw it and says it's unwatchable.
- A Turtle's Tale, which even has a sequel. Joy.
- Animals United — Madagascar knockoff
- Legend of Kung Fu Rabbit — Kung Fu Panda knockoff, but with a rabbit in the lead role. Said rabbit looks like Miyamoto Usagi, Richard Watterson, and a Moogle thrown in a blender, and Rebecca Black is one of the voices.
- Cinderella 3D — This one actually has pretty good animation. Certainly not Pixar-quality, but you can tell they're at least trying. I have this one, and it looks like Cinderella meets Rango.
- Adventures in Zambezia — Also looks to be decent. Can't be that bad if it has two Annie nominations.
The real oddball is a Korean one called Back to the Sea, whose cover depicts the lead character as looking like one of the Shark Tale fish. But the animation isn't even CGI — instead, it's a flat, 2-D animation style that actually looks quite pleasing and distinctive. Shame about the writing, though.
Obligatory Foodfight! mention.
Video Brinquedo - Seconding confirmation for THREAD OVER.
CGI can be good, but shouldn't be the only form of animation out there, no matter how cheap to use suits make it seem/seemingly lie about as a result...
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.It's funny cause I was watching ReBoot on Netflix for nostalgia's sake and while the CG power hasn't aged that well the writing and visuals are just outstanding. Watching this scene you end up crying it is so awesome.
Honestly, even passable CGI makes me cringe at times. I can barely watch the first season or so of The Adventures Of Jimmy Neutron anymore because the animation can seem so herky-jerky at times and everyone looks like living plastic. The thing that creeped me out the most, though, was when I noticed in one episode in the background, two background characters were doing the same exact thing on a very short loop, over and over and over and over. That just freaked me out far more than it should've. Just the fact that what they were doing (which was really just mimed talking and vague hand gestures) was literally the exact same thing, completely unchanging...it just seems more unsettling to me than, say, background character not moving at all in a 2-D animated...thing. (Which itself is a whole 'nother problem, but that's not what this thread is about.)
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Ah yes, Video Brinquedo. I think I watched like 5-10 minutes of Ratatoing before I got bored, since it was really dry. However, there was this scene from it that was so cheesy that it made me crack up(the one where all of the mice are dancing). Sadly, I can't find the scene by itself on Youtube since it got pulled down, but you can see it in this Touhou and Ratatoing mash up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEnM81evvas
I also remember rewatching Hoodwinked once, and there was this scene where Red was falling out of the sky and into some trees, and the animation there with her bumping into the trees seemed kinda...off. Like a plastic toy was hitting it. Granted, it wasn't like it was 2013 when that movie was made.

gendo ikari is my fursonaI never liked that show to begin with, and its CGI was horrible then too.
I only wanted to watch 5 minutes... but could not stop.

Completely unrelated to the cgi, but how do they make a video about how the hanging gardens were constructed and the challenges the architects had when the gardens are considered to have been purely legendary and not have actually existed?
At first, I thought that Food Fight wasn't that bad...then I noticed the animation flaws. It was kinda subtle for me at first.
gendo ikari is my fursonaFunny, I saw the errors and poor quality right away.
I was also one of those that ended up watching the whole movie.
It may have been the poor quality setting on Youtube that made it so I couldn't see the errors easily, so I guess it just wasn't obvious to me at first.
I think the video may have mentioned at one point an according to legend thing, but other than that, idk why. It my just be an "artist's rendering" or something like that.

gendo ikari is my fursonaHow the hell have we not mentioned Creepy Care Bears Girl yet?
Oddly, she looks like she's been taken right out of Sonic Unleashed, only with a less cartoony and slightly more crappy render.

First of all, I'm not really sure where I'm supposed to be posting this, but I'm putting this in this topic because animation...please tell me if this should be in a different topic!
gendo ikari is my fursonaAnyway, lately I've been fascinated with horrible CGI(as in, the 3D sort) animations and renders, so I want you guys to share some of the crappiest ones that you can find!
For example, this video I watched in history class is just absolutely...horrible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfg1YE-BqTc
