Plot Hole: Shouldn't Bobbi have known that wasn't May riding in that jet with her, and actually Kara? Shouldn't she have known May was riding with Gonzales and his people?

Good point although coulson Did tell her to go ahead with May so she probably thought fake!May was legit

Yeah, I would assume Kara!May told Bobbi, "Oh we're going alone in this other Quinjet." And then Kara!May had the console/radio the whole time, so she was the only one who heard Real!May.

But now I'm wondering how Kara got out of SHIELD custody. I thought they were imprisoning her?

The past few episodes have been giving me the impression that Jiaying was very similar to Gonzales in a lot of ways, to the point of even being a counterpart of sorts - it was clear one of them would be the one to start some sort of war. But with all the build up they were giving Gonzales, Jiaying being the one to actually start the hostilities blindsided us.

It's interesting, too, that for all Gonzales is a prejudiced hypocrite who demands authority over others simply because he thinks he deserves it more, SHIELD's actions in this episode at least were justified. They were responding to what looked to them to be an attack on their facility, peacefully at that - but much like Gonzales the Inhumans we see tend to have the impression that whatever protects their interests is justified and anything not aligned with said interests is subversive.

Though I'm with them on not being okay at all with being put on the Index.

I have no idea how this is going to end in general, but I hope Skye ends up learning the truth and staying with SHIELD. She spent so long becoming an agent, and now her characterization has been derailed. I don't mean Character Derailment, I mean she's been completely blindsided by unexpected developments. I almost feel like Skye will end up with the Inhumans when they flee, and she'll be in a similar situation next season as Ward was this one: Popping in every once in a while, but not really quite a main character any more. Again though, I don't like that direction. She's my favorite character.

We're definitely getting a full Mr. Hyde transformation, though. Whatever that entails.

Oh, and in hindsight, yes, we really should have seen this coming. Those are the best twists.

I think a good chunk of Jiaying's reasoning here is straight up pattern matching. She is very old which means she has seen a lot of unpleasant history up close and personal. To her "Being put on the index" is just another way of saying "And we would like to make a list so we can be sure to not miss anyone when we come back to kill everyone" and it doesn't help that shield has a shady as fuck back story, what with the hydra infiltration. So, she's just going to put shield down like a pack of rabid dogs. Amusingly, I'm not actually sure that would come back to bite her in the ass if she pulls it off. Shield's a rogue operation - no actual backing, so if they get wasted in a fight they went looking for...

Fridge Brilliance: I thought May's little rant to Coulson about his faith in Skye was a little out of character. I mean yeah, we've seen her lash out at others before, but....

..... then I realized, what if that was actually Kara!May?

Which one? The one where the rest of the council was there? Maybe, but then that wouldn't explain how real May knew what was going on later.

So, she's basically a more isolationist Magneto.

This last episode bored me. There was so much talk, and most of it was about stuff we are already familiar with. It was like retracing all the steps.

And honestly, I saw it coming. Both of the twists. The episode was so obvious about drifting in the direction, it was like sitting in a waiting room.

Inhumans are stupid. I wouldn't have trusted Raina, but I would at the very least send someone else to take care of the talks, just in case.

Raina screwed up that warning by suggesting she go instead. That made it look like a ploy, which really, she should have forseen even without precognition. "Send another Elder. Dunno how, but things will go sideways very badly otherwise" would most likely have worked.

It's Raina. She always wants more.

Oh I agree completely, it just seems like such a missed opportunity.

As for the actions of Jiaying. I get being pissed at the bad diplomacy and not trusting Shield, but she's now jut made everything worse. A compromise along the liens of "We'll manage information on our own people and their powers ourselves, but if anyone goes crazy/off the radar we'll call you" could at least have been suggested.

And yeah if Rania had been a bit less power grabby and say suggested that Gordon negotiate things could have been fine.

Finally anyone else assuming that Skye's dad is in on the plan? With the 'unknown' chemicals he took onto the Quinjet being part of Jiaying's plan?

I will admit that I didn't see it coming, I actually raged at Gonzales a bit for still being up to secret shit when he got the little box off Weaver. Felt like an idiot when it turned out to be something good.

Yeah, what makes me pretty much discount any arguments for Jiaying in this situation is the point that she already primed and readied Cal. You can say what you want about Gonzalez negotiations style (or lack off) but at least he negotiated in good faith.

I was half surprised by her and half not. More her attitude has been consistently indifferent to anybody outside of The Inhumans and she DID setup a situation where tons would die as is in just the last episode.

I didn't catch that I just thought Cal had his own plan. That does put Jiaying in a bad light.

Jianying already made up her mind before SHIELD even got there. If you look back, you will see that she's shown casual indifference to anyone not Inhuman. And she's also said to have turned into a "monster" after losing her daughter - she and Cal probably killed everyone in that town to find her.

So at the prospect of losing her daughter again and SHIELD coming there, she went to the most extreme choice.

Why did Skye mention Bahrain in response to the question about the Inhumans being dangerous? This was an incident were a little girl mind controlled numerous people into committing murder or attempted murder.

The little girl and her mom were Inhumans. May killed them.

Never thought of that. It could explain a few things.

Also, I can't see this deception by Jiaying lasting long. Gonzalez is an old man in his 60s who walks with a cane. If he wanted someone killed, he'd have someone else do it. Especially since he can't run away in case said attempt failed.

I figure Jiaying plans on having her people attack the SHIELD Agents present and then simply keep the Adrenaline up long enough to prevent people from asking questions.
