I subscribed to Netflix, and celebrated with an OB marathon over last week and this weekend. Almost done now, starting Season 3, Episode 7.

I didn't realize Ferdinand was Theo Galavan! It was also the first time I rewatched everything knowing what happened, and the scenes with Art in particular become rather interesting (and a bit sad).

But really, just checking for Tatiana's body language when she is doing clone impersonations is a good enough reason to rewatch everything. At least as a reminder how every award should go to her, forever, since it is going to be the season soon.

We're getting Beth flashbacks in Season 4, including the moment where she killed Maggie Chen. :o

Such a happy first episode!

I just felt like cutting onions while watching it, because, you know, hungry.

That Beth/Paul scene was both beautiful and devastating.

I really liked that they took the whole episode to tell that story, instead of showing it as a couple of flashbacks spread out across multiple episodes, which is what other shows might have done.

I wasn't really surprised to learn that M.K./Veera was a Helsinki survivor, but this episode really fleshed her out beyond the "mysterious hacker" gimmick. She is a cunning one, and it was nice to remind me of Ferdinand's deeds, because I had completely forgotten about who he really was, aside from this Affably Evil / Evilly Affable man (as usual when played by James Frain).

And then there was "Air Italia". I say that every season, but I could watch the series if it was just about Alison and Donnie's adventures.

I've completely given up assuming I can ever figure out what the Hell is going on in this show. I absolutely love it, it's stupendously good. Adjectives don't exist for how good it is.

Series four is proving just as good as the last so far. The first episode in particular was great for being set entirely before the show proper began; it was really interesting to see certain characters return, and I'm sure others from it will become relevant.

Some things I'm interested to see what happens with: Delphine's killer being the obvious one. She knew it was coming, she knew about the implants, but who was behind it is unclear. Felix's family is the other. It's a really good thing for the character that he look for his family, and it has potential for an interesting dynamic between Fee and Sarah, but this show might do anything with them.

Regarding Chekhov's Gunman, three characters I'm on tenterhooks about: Shay, Krystal and Tony. Shay was innocent but did have a military background, which this show might well show as swinging back into the plot in the same way as Paul's did. Krystal was last used as a pawn and we don't really know what's happened to her, and the supposed S3 return of Tony hasn't happened. It would be annoying if the latter didn't return if only for a Back for the Dead, seeing as every other living clone has at least some plot relevance.

Well, great episode again, with some things answered and a whole lot more questions. I reckon we know who the Big Bad is, but everything has the chance to be turned on its head as usual. Very heavy spoilers if you're not up to date.

Krystal has come back, and she's great as usual - there for the wrong reasons, but has managed to get herself there nonetheless. What happens now is anyone's guess, but I have to assume she needs to be brought into the fold properly, as she's clearly too much of a liability to be left out.

the Big Bad, unsurprisingly I suppose, is Susan "Utopia Justifies the Means" Duncan. She doesn't care who gets hurt or dies as long as it ends well. I reckon she'll have blood on her hands within the main cast before long. I'm fairly certain she's the one who had Delphine killed, assuming the latter really is dead.

Speaking of which, I guess we now have to really suspect Cosima of having agreed to go along with Susan, and it may not be until the last episode that we find the truth of it. I always figured Cosima would be the first of the main trio to die, and that may yet come to pass.

The Felix stuff, wow...No closer to knowing the truth there. Adele is his genetic brother, but that doesn't mean she's innocent. In fact, we don't know that Scott actually said that to Sarah, since we only heard one side of the conversation. It would be very, very much in character for Sarah to have pretended as such in order to get into Adele's confidence, only to pull off some sort of big reveal later. It's a shame that a rift is forming between Sarah and Felix, but this is still a plot that could go anywhere.

Finally, Kira stuff. So Kira has some sort of latent empathy with the clones and can experience their emotions, including those she hasn't met. This explains how she can instantly tell them apart, and has interesting implications for the rest of this series.

God I love this show!

Didn't someone mention earlier that who the Big Bad truly was was obvious? Because to me it was not, at all.

I wonder if someone thought about getting a spare sample of Kendall's DNA in case something like that happened.

God knows where this series is going now.

There's one thing that happened that did not surprise me, at all: the wiping of the hard drive. Seriously, handing it over to Brightborn was guaranteeing that something like that would happen. And I can't say I'm truly surprised that Susan was really not as in control as she thought.

What happens next, who knows? I assume that now that we know the deal with MK/Veera, she's going to reenter the series. What has happened to Helena, I've no idea. And Allison was totally absent for the first time in a very long time. Hopefully all three come back next week.

I'm having serious trouble buying that Cosima and Scott were careless enough for that to be *any* kind of real setback to their research. I mean, the loss of one slide and reverting to yesterdays backups? It just doesn't fit with their characters. On the other hand, I'm not sure Scott is savy enough for the claim to be him playing to any theoretical eavesdroppers..

I don't think that is much of a stretch. In genetics losing results does mean restarting from scratch, and while it might be slightly faster the second way around you still have to deal with cell culture which takes a long time. And if on top of that you can't reuse the same cell lines, then you are done for.

Anyway, the lesson here is: don't mess with the Irish.

The review on one side praises the tight plotting of this show - nothing is wasted, there's basically no filler (Alison's stuff in series 2 and 3 were the closest we got), which is terrific. The limited number of episodes basically forces it.

Another terrific episode here. Interesting that Duko really was being blackmailed, as his actor's great performance had heavily implied (he seemed very unwilling to carry out orders and indicated earlier that he didn't have a choice), but that it didn't save him. Which I think was important - Mrs S doesn't compromise, ever, and such an execution with a goddamn sniper rifle is totally in character for her. He was doing it for his family, but destroyed another to do so.

I'm still thinking a major clone death is on the cards by the end of the season. I reckon E10 is going to end with Delphine being discovered alive as Cosima dies. Hope I'm wrong, but it would be dramatically excellent.

I think that only Sarah and Alison are truly safe, because they have entire universes revolving around them and their death would mean their loss for the show.

All the other clones are fair game.

Yeah, right from the start Cosima has been the expendable one to me. In fact no series has gone by, and scarcely even an episode, in which I'm completely confident she'll make it to the end credits. Knowing this show, anything is possible, though I agree that Sarah and Allison are safe.

It would also take a lot for Felix or Mrs S to die - there has been chances for them to kill off the latter, but they didn't go there. Those two are the key supporting players in the series. Everyone else would be a sacrificial lion at this point, including Art. Whose reaction to Duko being murdered should be quite something.

[up]Well he basically walked out of the room and left him to Mrs. S. He must have had some idea what she would do with him.

That's true, but as he himself said, to murder a cop is seriously pushing it even more than is standard for this group. Though of course it's easy to see why he'd not particularly care either given Art holds Duko responsible for Beth's death, at least to some extent.
