The splash page looks evocative - it sort of reminds me of The Longest Journey.
"Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster—but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue."

Jonah FalconHuh, so this is Project Reds' final name?
But yeah, nice that they have progressed far enough that people outside backers who actually check their documentary videos and forums knows whats going on :P I mean, premise of the game has been known for like... I don't know, since second of third episode? I don't remember anymore

The game already has "Tear Jerker!" written all over it.
Jonah FalconHuh? How come on? It never stuck out to me like that.
I mean... Okay, if none of you are backers then I guess I can't spoil, but there is comedy even in sacrifice scene :P
You can become a Backer still, if you preorder for $30.
Jonah FalconI've been thinking about this, although I'd probably want to have a secure job first.
Anyways, I did make a page for this, although I figured it would be bad form to reveal Backer Material at this time on this page... though I only put up as much as I really know from looking at the website, and no more than that.

I now go by Graf von Tirol.^^yeah, I know, thats how I become a backer
Seeing the artwork brought my mind to some odd amalgam of Little Big Adventure, Another World and The Neverhood.
Artstyle is some guy's they call Bagel(forgot his actual name) because Schaefar really wanted to do a game with his artstyle. He originally wanted him to paint whole game, but that was bit unreasonable so I'm not sure but I think they gave up on having him do the whole art thing alone.
Nathan "Bagel" Stapley. He's either working with DF on a freelance basis or does gallery work on top of his work with DF. The links page on that site should point to his other online presences.
IIRC, they tried having him paint over everything but that became infeasable, and he also wanted to get more into the design side of things, so he did that while working with the other artists to get filters and techniques to emulate the style.

So... I thought The Cave was the result of the Kickstarter. This is surprising.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."A lot of people made that mistake, in spite of it being pointed out multiple times that this was Ron Gilbert's own pet project. Gilbert recently left Double Fine (this is apparently normal for him, he rarely sticks with a studio for more than one or two projects) and I don't get the impression that his involvement in DFA was that large.
Dev Diary thing, with some small snippets of gameplay inbetween.
Yeah, and before that people assumed that Lumberjack demonstration they made for backers was it :P
From a year ago:
Still gotta love design of the monster(assuming it hasn't changed much), though you can't really see it in that video.
Has anyone else watched the document videos btw?
Sad face.
I'm not too bothered by what's happening, but I'm worried for how people are going to react.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet. Why? You don't like designs or something?
Oh god no, I love them. I mean the funding thing.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Ah ok
Wait what? .-. Did they finally run out of funding like they feared in one of the documentary videos?

Ah, so thats how they decided to solve the problem xD Ah the problems of unleashed game designers...
You know Double Fine Adventure and its breakthrough on Kickstarter? Well, it now has a name and a website.
It's currently available for preorder: $15 for beta access and $30 for backer access, which includes access to a private forum, a documentary series of its development, some development materials and the digital soundtrack.
