Drakengard 3

Annouced for PS3.

Doesn't really sound anything like the first two games, but it doesn't sound bad, either

That's strangely quiet on the subject of plot...

If it isn't as pristinely awful as its predecessors, though, I'm not interested. :p

What the shit. I never thought I'd hear about this franchise again.

Drakengard will always hold a special place in my heart despite because it is a deep exploration of exactly how not to craft a game's story.

Apparently the Heroine powers up when in contact with blood. Somehow I already think this is an attempted justification for a Stripperiffic outfit.

So, will this follow Nier's canon or Drakengard 2's canon?

For the record: In Drakengard 2 the evil gods are destroyed in the true ending; in Nier, they're sent back to the Drakengard world(though that's before Nier's plot even occurs, so it's never explicitly covered within the game itself).

Drakengard 2 and Nier are sequels to different Drakengard endings, aren't they? The good bad easy first ending and the bad good WTF screw you Cavia hard to get ending. Since this is, well, Drakengard 3 I'd assume they're jumping off Drakengard 2. Or maybe it's an entirely new, separate continuity with only thematic links.

I'd assume it's either a new continuity or a prequel. Drakengard 2 didn't leave much to do and was terrible in a bad way and a sequel to Nier would be, you know, Nier 2

Ehhh games (or any work, really) where everything inevitably goes to shit hold little appeal for me. I'm looking at you, DA 2.

Maybe this one will finally let us punch out Red-Eye, aka, that scion of the Evil Gods guy mentioned in Nier's backstory.

That, and my chief interest in this game is to see how WTF it can get.

HA! She's dressed like a whore! Called it! Not as bad as it could be, but that's still a very hilariously strategically cut down outfit.

Also she's got a flower for an eye what.

I hold the exact same opinion and the first Drakengard is the most epic use of that. But I still love it for some reason.

It's going to be difficult keeping their names straight.

0 uses a sword, 1 uses a circle-thing. Simple!

Looks even less practical than Tira's.

If this is directed by the guy who did Nier and Drakengard (not the sequel), this will be a day 1 purchase.

If this would actually continue Drakengard's plot, I wonder how it could make it even more fricked up?

I mean seriously, Drakengard and Nier... That story is insanely bizarro dark :P

Also the game will be developed by Acess Games seeing as Cavia is dead.

Interesting... Although D1 and 2 are nightmares, 1 for gameplay, and 2 for how shitty its story was.

However, Nier was actually pretty great, so I'm no going to count Cavia out just yet.

Granted, Nier was a Drakengard game in the same way that, say, Donkey Kong Country was a Mario game, but the improvements to gameplay and storytelling could totally have been retained for this game.
