I think they're trying to spread out the releases of this series through the year, on how well they fit with that time. Ex- there will most likely be a Christmas-themed episode months from now.
That was neat.
Although I never really got why Furry Confusion was an issue. Humans don't get all weird about being a separate species from Chimpanzees.
The issue is that Goofy and Pluto are both dogs. They are of the same species, yet one acts like a human and wears clothes.
Methinks you don't understand what Furry Confusion is about.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987This is a thing about Goofy and Pluto that people have wondered for decades. Thing is, at the time when Goofy was first created, no one cared that there were animals acting and dressing like humans and some that didn't because no one knew you could make sense it it.

"Dog" is not actually a species name. Or a genus name.
We didn't split off from the chimps that long ago. And there was apparently still a bit of inbreeding going on for a few dozen generations after the initial separation.
So no, I see the two as comparable situations.
What makes us assume Pluto and Goofy are actually of the same species? Yes we call them both "dog" but that clearly seems to be shorthand, with Pluto closest to the common canis lupus familiaris, while Goofy seems to have come from a line of a more distinct evolutionary flavor, "Canis Lupus Sapiens" or some equivalent.
We still call him "dog" because we don't actually have a name for that because that doesn't exist on Earth in the year 2013.

Are you really going to nitpick this?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Does anyone have another link that doesn't block the video to my country?
It's like you don't know me at all. Of course I am.
What makes us assume Pluto and Goofy are actually of the same species? Yes we call them both "dog" but that clearly seems to be shorthand for a phenomena that occurs in reality and is within our common experience, with Pluto closest to the common "Canis Lupus Familiaris", while Goofy seems to have come from a line of a more distinct evolutionary flavor, "Canis Lupus Sapiens" or some equivalent.
We still call him "dog" because we don't actually have a name for that because that doesn't exist on Earth in the year 2013. And "dog" isn't actually scientific terminology for species but common linguistic device.
Sorry.

Ask Disney. XP
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Yeah, I agree on Goofy probably being the human to Pluto's chimpanzee, for lack of a better term. Don't forget even Disney Dogfaces have different degrees of 'humanity' between them; in the comics, some often are portrayed with completely human ears despite their dog noses!
I like how Mickey looks, pretty cute. The shorts are okay. My only complaint is how they sometimes characterize Goofy as a jerk (especially in "No Service"). At times, Bill Farmer's performance doesn't even sound like Goofy. IMHO, I like him better as a clumsy simpleton...with pants.
"YOU FILTHY SWINE!!! I WILL KEEEEL YOU!!!In-universe(s) at least, Goofy's thought process tends to go: "Pluto is a dog. I am a human. We are not the same species", and usually so would other characters. Even as a kid I noticed no one ever called Goofy a dog (though I didn't realize the implications of him consistently being referred to as a man until later).
Also, I think Goofy probably has almost entirely human in him and barely any dog; it's just that since Most Writers Are Human and so are most viewers, we tend to notice the few differences over the overwhelming similarities.
Goofy's more doglike than the dogfsces, st least. Heck, he's arguably more doglike than Msx, which raises some uncomfortable questions...
And on that note: goodnight!
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh, Pete has it even worse, since he's much more catlike in appearance than his wife Peg and daughter Pistol...
And again these are only slight aesthetic similarities. The things that seem similar between the whole of the Goof Troop cast and cats/dogs are:
- Noses
- Likely ears, but not required
- Likely skull shapes, but not required
- Unlikely but possible fur, but not on at least the majority of the face
That's it. Everything that isn't listed is more or less human-like. I don't think Goofy is really more doglike than Max; Max has all four animal traits just like Goofy does. But while Goofy, Max, Pete, and PJ are more animal-like than most of the people around them mainly because they're the only ones who (sometimes) have fur, they're still much closer to humans than Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Truth be told, I always assumed Mickey and Goofy didn't have fur, since their ears look hairless and their bodies and limbs look too smooth, without any noticeable hair. Even when they're wet, they don't give the impression of wet fur either. At least Pete has visibly furry ears.
So after seeing the latest short I have a pretty good idea as to why Max's mom never shows up in Disney media.
She actually did appear in some of the old comics but it was when Max was “Goofy Jr." and also when he was a Dog Face equivalent of a red head.
Did anyone else see the Luxo Ball during the obstacle course scene?
Eh.here's another one. this time, Mickey's a gondola operator in what looks like Venice.
Another very beautiful-looking one, similar to the first episode released that took place in France.
Oh man, was not expecting Willie the Operatic Whale to show up. That's awesome.
I love how at the end Minnie produces a table, two presentable plates of spaghetti, and a lit candle from her basket.
But who ever heard of an operatic whale??? "I don't BELIEVE it!" "I don't be-LIEVE it..."
BOUT' DAMN TIME!
