You could probably do something with the Taint rules from 3.5 - they're in Heroes of Horror (which I've got) and Oriental Adventures (which I don't).
Basically, as you're exposed to EVIL, you gain either Corruption or Depravity. Depravity is probably the best to start with, since it's the mental one and causes you to develop steadily more extreme quirks until you go over the edge, turn into a murderous maniac and probably run for the Republican nomination.
Rename Depravity point "Insanity points" and tweak what triggers receiving them, and you're probably almost there.

@1751 I mentioned that she should probably stick to just the CRB for her first attempt at running, but she's feeling confident.
@1752 Say, that does sound workable. Thanks.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Eh, I guess its hard to dissuade confident people. Still overconfidence is dangerous thing and acing anything on first time isn't that common :'D
Either way, good luck to her, if you guys manage to make it work it sounds like it would be fun

Do not use the Taint mechanics from Oriental Adventures. It's insanely easy for a character to reach full taint level, and when that happens, DM gets control of said character and forces a reroll.
I think the biggest danger is expectations: when I sit to play D&D, I expect an heroic fantasy where I'm the Big Bad Hero who kicks ass and chews magic items, and I'm all out of magic items. Sure, there may be situations where my character is out of his depth and has to retreat, but I want to be confident that the climax will be me and the party kicking the big bad guy's ass.
Sanity meter mechanics, on the other hand, tend to encourage more horrorish stories where the monsters are things to be feared, not asses to be kicked. That's not bad, but I would be very disappointed if I got this kind of story after sitting to play an heroic fantasy one.
We did make a lot of sanity point loss jokes in our last session of Rise of the runelords xP Lots of gruesome scenes in that rpg.
But yeah, Pathfinder isn't really suitable for scaring the player, its more about "Backdrop is gory and scary and we are badasses who kick the pyramid head in face" for most parts xD
So, like many people, I bought the Humble Bundle.
Seems about time, given I've been playing for a couple of years. Now I can actually learn the rules properly and not require the other players to spoonfeed me while I crack jokes.
The Red Raven revealed as Vigilante iconic.
Now that's a character I haven't seen in six years (Since Requiem for the Red Raven.) And his look is very different now. Do you think he's a Legacy Character?
So he's a red-themed Masked Man of Mystery™ hunting down the aristocrats during the not!French Revolution. It's the inverse Scarlet Pimpernel.
Be appropriate for a superhero type, certainly.
So for the next Pathfinder campaign we're doing (Cerulean Seas setting), I'm planning on rolling a Selkie Investigator, Sleuth archetype.
Hopefully this time the character ends up a liiiiittle less depressing.
Hey I kept giving you chances to have Rit grow, develop, and come to terms with things while getting out of his rut.....
Also, gogo Nommo Magus!
True, but I think we have a bit of a disagreement on what would be a positive or believable resolution for the character.
It's less a matter of coming to terms, I think, than it is with him being unhappy with the circumstances. Perhaps the best thing for him would just be time to heal after it's over.
I am truly hoping that we can return to the setting and characters in the future, and that then I can devise a happier character arc.

I got the Humble Bundle Pathfinder pack, and am going to be starting a group soon. Any tips that you guys can give me?
Notes
Notes everywhere
Seriously though, it really helps to have cheat sheets and such so you can quickly check specific rules or things you were planning or if running adventure, checking things like D Cs and stuff quick without searching them from the text
Guess I'll need to print out the DM sheet then, as its a cheat sheet iirc
Wait, notes? You all don't just keep the entire setting you created, all details, who everypony is, their relations, established path for the story, multiple separate characters worth of individual progression and means of ways to tailor different aspects to different party members all in your head from day one and keep it all flowing for over two years without ever creating a solid written way to reference it?
Got an email about something that PF players (especially would-be players) might be interested in.
The Humble Bundle site is selling a bunch of Pathfinder stuff cheap. Many of the basics for just a buck, and more of you choose to spend accordingly.
https://www.humblebundle.com/books/paizo-pathfinder-bundle
They're another sale going for Pathfinder novels, too.
EDIT: I see I'm long 'D. Ah well, I'll leave the link where it is.

Just to note, each of comic book does contain Pathfinder game npc statblock or other bonus material so that is cool :D
Also, who the heck claims on character page that hellknight evil iconic is ambiguously evil? She fricking gave away her family to horrible death without regret, that is pretty evil.
@1769 I think it depends on just when Linxia was revealed and what parts of her backstory were revealed at the time. From reading it, it looks like the events you allude to weren't released (or, at the very least, in the hands of the troper who wrote the example) when that writeup was done. You should know the wiki's procedures by now for dealing with pages like that.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. But she was released in the "Meet the iconics" blog post with full backstory .-.
And trope writer does refer to people claiming in blog posts' comment section that that isn't evil Because yes, some people in comment section think that wanting to enforce really oppressive law to the point you tell on your family without regretting their really horrific end isn't evil.
What Linxia did to her parents, that's on the really dark end of Lawful Neutral.
I honestly don't know if the Meet The Iconics was the character's first appearance, and I honestly don't particularly care about anything on that particular page as a whole (outside of wiki-wide standards). Still, complaining here about something on a trope page isn't the productive or effective way of handling a dispute. There is a specific "is this an example" thread; make your argument there.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. So wait, we can't talk about trope pages on the topics on the thing page is based on? .-.
^^So what exactly is lawful evil then if that is "just" lawful neutral.

Lawful Evil implies you're using the law to abuse and control others (see: Lazzero Dalvera's backstory as an example)
Lawful Neutral means you follow the letter of the law (see: Judge Dredd)
Just suggest her to hold off the sanity meter thing or just play Call of Cthulhu :P
Like I can see many ways homebrew sanity meter might go... Badly xD
Plus with G Ming, you don't want to go complex as possible when you are starting <_< Its really easy to get overwhelmed as gm if you aren't used to it :'D Or at least I get overwhelmed a lot
