Chibi is the Japanese name for it, but that has the potential to be even more unclear. Super-deformed is that standard English translation that anyone wanting to describe it will use; we should take note of that. Unless there is significant misuse of this for a horror trope, I oppose a rename.

When I first saw the term 'Super-Deformed' on a 'Playing With' section, I was disturbed. How could a Parodied trope feature disturbing deformation? Were the people who edited that complete Sadists? I decided to check it out to see if the name was just a bad name. Then I found out that it was those 'Chibi' art style sections that Animesque shows often have. My complaint is that the name tricks you into thinking it is a Horror Trope, though in reality it's a harmless, Rule of Cute thing. It should be renamed to something more befitting.
