Pff. XD

While we're not at what I would consider Loads And Loads Of Characters territory, we do seem to have a good number. I've been considering making another character for myself regardless, possibly for a species that hasn't been put in yet or is just underrepresented, but I don't think that I can properly focus on two characters at the same time, especially with how I go about them.

Any estimate when we'll get this thig on the road? Ragna and I actually already have an oening quest planned; any Naettir P Cs may be interested in it, should you prefer to have your first post be built off someone else's.

Sheba

Looks good! Although, my only major problem is the bit about clairvoyance and her sight-seeing abilities. This is more my own personal qualms in that area of abilities more than anything, and I'm truly sorry for not mentioning it earlier. >.<

If possible, I'd really prefer if she didn't have those powers.

A’lene Tenagoud

Sounds good to me! Accepted!

Also, I see what you did there~ >.>

Ripper

I would like to know a bit more about Ripper and his abilities before I come to any final judgement.

Is he only incredibly durable? Can he use his telekinesis on just the needles, or on other stuff as well? Also, how will he act around others? I understand he's a murderer, but there needs to be some chance for interaction between him and the others as well besides just wanting to fight and kill them.

Ragnos

Seems good, though I would like the bits of the 'Charles Atlas Super Powers' to be lessened just a bit. Other than that, he's accepted~!

@goodisgood: Yes... we do seem to have a ton of demons/Fallen Angels. >.> Though, I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing.

@Naomi Hansen: If you really want to play as a species that isn't mentioned in the opening post that is more than perfectly fine~ Just as long as you run it past me beforehand or make me aware of it somehow!

@Taco: At the moment? I'm seeing tomorrow or Monday to be the start of the RP. Also, if you don't mind, could you PM the details of the quest you and Ragna have in mind to me? I could find a way to incorporate it into the opening post somehow.

Ehh, I imagine goodisgood's character will love mine in the long run. They'll most likely snark at each other, in that case. =P

Now, I hope I can introduce my char to the RP and make it interact with the world. I have this problem that's becomming a nuisance to me as of late (damn you lack of experience!)... Hence why I lowered my char's negative bias toward people a bit. If I can compare his anti-sociality to someone, it'd be Wolverine (snarky), not Edward fucking Cullen (depressed and emo). :/

By the way, I edited that part you mentioned, Aevum. I couldn't find the measure between OP and too nerfed, so I hope this is enough. =P

@ Aevum: But of course. However, what I meant by "not put in yet" was "nobody's written character profiles for those species…" Yet.

By the way, that "Other Info" portion you have on the front page. When are you gonna put that stuff down? When we actually start the whole RP? I wanna know if there's set rules on magic and/or Necromancy for this.

@ KSPAM: Give me time—Vesper's got… Potential to be pretty fine herself. (Oh boy, loads of Character Development needed there, the poor Dragon.) cool

Anywho! Yes, that does look much better!

@Naomi Hansen: As for the 'other info' bits, I'll be honest and say that my own laziness/procrastination is at fault for that. >.< Don't be afraid to nudge/kick me a bit to get me moving. I will be sure to work on that and have some stuff added around tomorrow. Though, in terms of magics, there aren't any real restrictions for them, except reviving the dead or performing some sort of 'God-like' ability. Necromancy is fine on most creatures, except 'stronger' creatures (think of them like bosses) or important NP Cs, or other P Cs.

In my mind, Necromancy is kind of like a mixture between that of Guild Wars 2, and the Scourge/Lich-King from World Of Warcraft.

Though, I will have better details tomorrow, hopefully! ^.^''

@ Aevum: Then how about some kind of Life Drain ability—being able to take the energy of opponents (possibly over a period of time), and using it to either energize yourself or help gain more power to be used for stronger spells? Would that be considered "God-like" here? (Oh, and the whole "no resurrection" thing is giving me some interesting implications for the Undead. Makes it sound like they're the Harry Potter variety of Undead, where they're just artificially animated by dark magic. Or, at least, that's what it makes me think of.)

By the by if anyone is wondering... Finding the name of a female legendary smith was nigh impossible, unless I wanted to name her after Tolkein's Goddess of the smiths. But then I found out that Weyland The Smith - which is where I got the name from - had a son named Widia. So I just made it a girls name.

I suppose it depends on the relative powerlevels of the RP in question. In certain R Ps, Zanven would be very, very, very broken. In this setting though, it seems a casual townbuster isn't pushing things quite too far due to relative powerlevels. That and Zanven's a selfish, lazy ass, so it's not like he's going to be Mr. "Let Me Fix All The Problems" XD

Pff! What a lovely demon. XD

I've got other things to chain down Vesper: I don't see her as being the kind to really understand the concept—or at least the real benefits—of "asking for help,"*

especially from that dreaded human species that's hurt and scared her multiple times; she has a lot of problems with magic, some of it having to do with the former, but mostly because she has no idea of her true nature (not to mention she probably wouldn't accept it if she were to discover that right now); and she ain't no politician—even if she were to actually push her prejudices aside, she would most likely have a difficult time getting out of the anti-social shell that she's had around her the majority of her life, let alone allow herself to actually practice whatever human behaviors she's infrequently observed*, so good luck with her becoming a leader against Keva anytime soon.

…If anybody got through my rant/wall of text, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I'm just gonna hope that nobody will think I'm crazy now. 8D

I have the power problem also. The way I originally designed her, Widia was very much the Ultimate Black Smith, making stupidly powerful weapons at the drop of a hat. But much consultation with our esteemed GM reduced that considerably. She can still make stuff that's better than anyone else can produce, except the Smiths in Titanforge (Maybe) but its not that gamebreaking any more.

Also, in reflection, it would have been stupid.

In my case, I got the feeling my char is not strong enough compared to the others. Maybe I'm making him too weak? I mean, it's very likely that goodisgood's char can kill him with two hits (justifiable since he's a paladin), and his other character can smash metal as if it were wood, outrun deers and jump roof to roof with ease.

I feel the same with Tarkus. I figure I'll justcrank those racial traits to the logical conclusions of their description: super strong, super duper durable with endurance to match, and near immunity to magic.

@Naomi Hansen: Life Drain is a bit iffy in this setting, since it can lead to potential problems. Most likely, I'd probably only allow Life Drain skills on a character who has enough weakness/handicaps to the point that it doesn't become broken. Though, again, I suppose it just depends upon the character... but I honestly can't promise anything. Also, undead are essentially reanimated bodies without personalities or souls in them. (Kind of like Harry Potter I guess? But more so that they're kind of like mindless thralls)

@Jason C: Actually, I just finished writing out the Cyber Art bits and have added them to the opening post. ^.^ Again, these are more 'general' ideas and guidelines that you'll want to follow, but do feel free to experiment a bit with them.

  • Cyber Arts: The weapons designed by the Dwarves and the Gnomes, the Cyber Arts are actually a 'general' term for cybernetic augmentations. These augmentations can range from simple cybernetic eyes, to having your entire body replaced with a mechanical suit and the only remaining parts of your mortality is your brain. While Cyber Art wielders can be extremely powerful, they all share the common weakness of being susceptible to electricity, being hacked, and being shunned by others due to defying their previous mortal/normal selves. Many Cyber Art wielders have turned to follow Keva and his reign, due the state of anarchy he brought forth. With no rules and no laws, the once shunned and frowned upon outcasts now have a world that they can call their own. Breathing underwater, immunity to toxins, heightened resistances, and 'flexibility' in combat are just a few of the common and shared traits among the Cyber Art wielders.
    • Cyber Arts usually fall into certain categories, or types. These categories being: Steamrollers, Tanks, Bombers, Sentinels, and Infiltrators.
      • Steamrollers: The more 'balanced' of the Cyber Art types, Steamrollers don't excel in any one ability, yet they do not falter in any one ability as well. These type of wielders are more for combat purposes, and are the most common. Physical Weapons, positron blades, titanium blade implants, hidden cannons/guns, attack drones, and nanomachines are fairly common among the Steamrollers.
      • Tanks: The 'heavier' of the Cyber Art types, Tanks are fairly slow, but are incredibly bulky and can do above average damage. These types of wielders are usually the first to initiate a conflict or battle, and usually draw the fire and attention from others. Composed mostly of those whose augmentations compose roughly 80% of their body, or cybrids. Hardened defenses, barriers, heavy physical weapons, capable of picking up large items, and being able to take on multiple foes at once are common among the Tanks.
      • Bombers: The 'offensive' orientated type of Cyber Art wielders, Bombers are incredibly fast and are capable of dealing tons of damage. Their greatest drawback is that they are incredibly fragile, have the least amount of augmentations, and have lower defenses. They make up for this by having increased agility and reflexes. Cannons, hidden guns, attack drones, and positron weapons are fairly common to see among Bombers.
      • Sentinels: The 'support' type among the Cyber Art wielders, Sentinels do not excel in direct combat, but instead assisting their allies and providing an analysis during battles. Sentinels are capable of using attack drones, sentry drones, nanomachines, barriers, and determining weak points due to their visual augmentations.
      • Infiltrators: The 'stealthy' type of Cyber Art wielders, Infiltrators, like Sentinels, do not excel in direct combat, but instead scouting and infiltrating encampments. As the only type of wielder to have a perfect stealth cloaking mechanism built into them, they are some of the most feared of all the Cyber Arts wielders. Their greatest drawback is that they too are fragile, but their enhanced agility and stealth abilities more than make up for this. Cloaking shields, hacking tools, hidden-blades, and hidden-guns are common among the Infiltrators.

Again, just guidelines more than anything else.

Also, to be perfectly honest? I'm being pretty lenient and laid back with P Cs as long as the power levels of all characters are on a somewhat similar scale, since the creatures in the RP will range from Heavily Armored Mook with Lightning Bruiser powers, to the strongest of elemental demons, and even simple civilians gone bad. Also, it does allow for more chances for Pv P (interesting scenarios may arise for example), and some interesting character development and thinking on player parts.

For example, playing an extremely strong character may make other characters wary of them, a little envious, or bring out some... interesting developments. Just consider this a late warning that the more powerful you are, the more careful you will have to be, especially if you go around and show off a lot in a world where there is nothing but anarchy.

It also does not help that I have Killer GM tendencies. >.>

(Dang GM, updating just when I write my responses.) XD

While I don't condone enablers (maybe?), yes, let us hope for an awesome kind of crazy.

[up][up][up][up] Well, I guess that in the end, it's good to have characters of varying strengths.

[up][up] I actually got a little scared for Vesper when I read Durrak's profile—she doesn't know about her breaths of death yet, and while she can be quick, I don't know if she'd be capable of landing a proper swing at him with her claws. Doesn't help that he has that whole "I don't like women" thing going on, also.

(EDIT: Okay, I actually read through the Cyber Arts things, and I must say—that Infiltrator class is looking mighty fine to me. Probably has to do with my love for invisibility powers and how this class reminds me of the Spy one for Team Fortress 2.)
