Yeah, if we're gonna stick with that pic we definitely need to find it colorized. A completely new pic where the "monster" is more evident would work even better.
We may need to replace the one on the italian version of the article as well.

Few random GIS hits: [1], [2], [3]◊, [4] (down a little).
Check out my fanfiction! These are still B&W, but most examples are going to be — this is a trope that was most used before movies were in color.
However:
- From ''TheLostWorld'' (1925)◊ yer basic iguana-with-a-fin...
- 1 Million B.C. (1940 version)◊ Iguana as dinosaur
- ''TheLostWorld'', 1960 version)◊ Monitor lizard with fin and horns.
- The Lost World (1960) again◊, Iguana or monitor lizard with horns but no fin.
- and 1 Million BC, (1960 version)◊ Sea turtle with a paint job and a little beak.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I like the third one.
I'd prefer one with some "normal sized" people, trees, object or animals for size comparison so that we can tell they're supposed to be "Terrible Lizards".
5.5 A seaturtle? Heheheh, shame they didn't glue something on to it'd fit the trope.
"It says here they eat grass."
"That's for hors d'oeuvres, sir."
EDIT: So much for my naturalist intelligence, 5.5 still has my vote.

^ They did glue something on. They gave him a bit of a nose job. And painted him. See the difference in the beak?◊

I guess 5.3 looks the best for me, now that I've noticed that the rocks it's standing on seem to imply the lizard's size.

I like one of them with humans in them.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, I like 5.5 (the last suggestion, in that post). It maybe doesn't show "glue on a few cardboard fins and horns" as obviously as some of the others, but it does show ordinary reptile as giant monster very well, and that is just as important as the "added fins" detail.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Little known fact: Dinosaurs look just like giant turtles.
Looks good.
Bump; any other thoughts?
5.5 for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThat image and caption are good for me.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I like the caption too. It and the pic are up, potholed, and tagged; I'll start an Image Links page shortly. Locking up.
At first glance, it resembles a large rock.
Only when I looked closely that I could tell that it's the supposed dinosaur.
The eyes are the most visible, but even then, a quick glance at the picture and you'd be wondering where's the dinosaur.
Perhaps a coloured version of the picture, as it being in black and white makes it harder to see?
