So this happened.

I have heard that the "Recent Best Sellers" list tracks purchases made in the last thirty days (but don't quote me on this, because it was unsourced). Regardless, it's still crazy.

I was watching some Mother 3 L Ps and only now I started thinking about how Kumatora must feel when the Magypsies, her adoptive parents, all begin disappearing one by one during Chapter 7 and she even has to help Lucas in his quest to pull the needles and in the process she basically lost her family for the second time.

I really feel bad for her now.

She's an Ensemble Dark Horse for the Tomboy Princess archetype for a reason.

I still think Ness's quest for power from the sanctuaries was pointless.

Even though the enemies get stronger from that point on, Paula's PSI Shield easily repulses their most dangerous attacks.

Since they localized MOTHER 1 as EarthBound Beginnings, I would imagine that, if they don't just call it EarthBound 2, they will call it EarthBound: The Next Chapter or something.

do you think they will tone down the difficultly level in Mother 1/Earth Bound Beginnings? Mother 1 is an old school RPG where the enemies were tough unless the player did some mad grinding and the EXP system was a chore in the original. Tomato of Starmen.net fame did have a patch where it makes the game somewhat easier.

It's the prototype exactly. So no, it's just as ruthlessly difficult as it always was once you get to Mt. Itoi.

And no special double XP equip from the GBA!MOTHER 1 translation to help us out either.

I always found it kinda hard to get hyped for EarthBound Beginnings, since EarthBound seems more like a further refinement than a more standard sorta sequel- I mean, geez, just play spot-the-difference with Ninten, Ana and Lloyd next to Ness, Paula and Jeff.

Finally picked up Earthbound again.

Currently in the midst of the battle against Belch.

So Camp Fangamer seemed like a total blast. I wish I could of gone but alas, I live in Australia and overseas trips cost more money then my current job pays. I hope they upload the stream onto youtube in near future.

Plus the translation doesn't have the signature writing style. Well, in spots, but that's what the fan translation is for.

As nice a gesture as it is, I think gamers are still better off using the patched Mother1+2 rom. The name changes and a few edits are for the better though.

And now I've gotten to Magicant in Earthbound.

I've seen the first one before, and I recall somebody pointing out that they're meant to be in robot bodies when they're facing Giygas. Still a really powerful piece, though.
