Sadly no. That's my favorite Mother song. Up there with Snowman. At least the latter's popular (and in all three games + Smash, and in multiple forms in the latter, even.)
I actually don't recall Snowman very much.
But Pollyanna, WOTW, Eight Melodies... for me, those are the Big Three MOTHER 1 tracks.
On the same boat. It just feels homey, and really does reinforce the "mother will always be here for you" theme.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Snowman is my favorite Earth Bound song! To the point where I squeed hard when Super Smash Bros 4 not only brought back Brawl's remix of it, but when they put it in Onett Winters' theme.
Also, I LOVE Twoson's theme so much that it and Brawl's remix of Snowman are on my iPod.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."As much as I am loving Earthbound's humor and charm, these dungeons and segments are making me gargle in froffing rage. The second Your Sanctuary's goddamn bears with their stupid claws! And I'm rocking a Holmes Hat, to boot...
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Try freezing them solid. They're weak to PK Freeze if I remember correctly. I might be wrong though, it's been a while since I've been in that sanctuary.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay. They are, because that's what I did and they went down easily.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Beat up a gang leader that came at me first with a pair of switchblades, and then with a tractor-mecha.
Got through the first dungeon, and made use of Buzz Buzz's awesome item.
Now it's time to lend my strength to a friend I've never met...
Beware the walking Mushrooms. You're about to encounter some the first status effect dealing enemies in the game.
Well, you can get some good munnay off of the Mashrooms. The Healer Guy pays you 50 bucks for healing you when you're Mashroomized.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Still, that Mushroom was annoying especially when you consider that it inverts your Dpad controls.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."It actually rotates your Dpad controls every half a minute or so.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Which is much worse. At least you can get used to inverted controls. The Mushroom deliberately invokes Damn You, Muscle Memory!!
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Somebody told me about the mushrooms when I got there, so I just rotated the controller when necessary. Honestly, it wasn't any less annoying, and I ended up losing track a lot.

I'm the guy who knows how to make games but doesn't. 3DS FC: 2878-9776-7579Jumping a page back: I like the Gyiyg spelling; it looks the most unearthly.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableSo I was listening to Giygas' battle theme and I realized something: I now know what Mind Rape is in music form. The only other song I can think of that can achieve that level of fuckery is Revolution 9 by the Beatles.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."Well, Itoi was heavily inspired by The Beatles.
"You can't swallow what I'm thinking!!"Ever heard of the theory that Ninten is the father of Ness?

Is this a Jo Jo reference?iirc, it'd be closer to grandfather than father, but im not entirely clear on how long the timegap between games is.
I knew that, because I think there's several Shout Outs to Beatles songs in Earth Bound.
I'm not sure what to think of the Ninten being Ness's father theory, because MOTHER's timeline is rather vague.
It can't be any worse than the Giygas is a fetus theory, though.
"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."I've read many a forum thread about this topic. The first Mother game took place in 1980. (Or the 80s in general, depends on the translation of the game) Earthbound took place, in the same universe, in 199X. If, we assume, (which would give us the greatest possible chance of the theory being correct) that Earthbound takes place in 1999 there would be no way Ninten could be Ness's father. Ninten was about twelve in Mother 1. In 1999 he would be 31 (if I calculated that correctly.) But, if Earthbound took place in 1999, and Ness was 13-12, he would have to be born around '87
"You can't swallow what I'm thinking!!"Perhaps being relatives is possible as this could explain Ness knowing PSI, as well as his destiny to defeat Giygas.
Is this a Jo Jo reference?I always thought that, despite the calendar, Earthbound's setting was more like The '50s, and that MOTHER 1 was two or three decades before it.
According to MOTHER 1, though, it's supposedly set in 1988. Earth Bound is set in 199X. Whatever that means.
It's like the Mega Man series, where the Classic era is in 20XX, X is set in 21XX, Zero is in 22XX, etc. The X's are a symbol of a vague decade (or century in case of the Mega Man series).

"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."
...Pokey's mother must surely be one of Giygas's most powerful agents.
After all, if she can oneshot Buzz Buzz, when even a Starman Jr sent from the future to kill him was made to look like a total chump...
O.O
Oh my god. The BGM for inside of Ness's house is a remix of "Pollyana". Dammit, now I'm crying. (I actually did play and complete MOTHER 1, and I'm extremely vulnerable to memories from it).
Lemme tell ya, if there's a remix/version of "Wisdom of the World" in this game, I... I don't even know.
