Dat title.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Awww, the copy paste from Wikipedia didn't work? LAME.
I'll see if I can't get them to change it.
Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai
My thread retitling skills worked.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCripes, the first episode was adorable. No wonder many people found it sickening. ^^; Also, it's always a joy to listen to Jun Fukuyama, as it seemed like he didn't even have to exert himself for this one.
The OP though... Easy on the ears, but the scene transitions might give some people seizures.

I love this show already AND I WANT TO HAVE ITS BABIES!
... Too creepy?
I didn't bother watching the OP <<

Am I missing something? Seems pretty unremarkable to me.

Nothing really remarkable actually. It's very VERY cute though, and add to that Kyo Ani's usual great visuals, and it's an easy watch. Not very deep, but good for a casual view for now.
I really really really like Chuuni characters.
That is all.
From what I've seen so far, it's basically Kyoani animating cute girls doing cute things. The source material did get an honourable mention in Kyoani's writing competition though, so it remains to be seen if there will be much of a plot element.
The show reminds me somewhat of the manga It's Not My Fault That I'm Not Popular in that it makes me laugh and cringe in equal measure. The art is rather pastel-like but the animation itself is pretty dynamic - kinda like a cross between Nichijou and Haruhi. Pretty average first-episode, considering the pre-air buzz.
... also, the OP apparently has this gimmick where you're supposed to close one eye while watching or some nonsense like that but all it did was give me a splitting headache since I'm watching it on a sixteen inch monitor. The ED is nice, though.
If only the episodes weren't so short. It's only the first episode, but will they all be like that? Like Chis Sweet Home but with even more time taken up by a full-length intro and an ED. And supposedly only 12 episodes rather than hundreds.
It is super cute, and I enjoy lighthearted Moe for Moe's sake.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I liked it well enough. Very cute, and Yuuta's reactions are hilarious.
But man, that opening. I had a headache for at least 20 minutes afterwards.
Are you talking about the short preview ep they had? Because the episode that aired today was a full 24 minutes.

Are you talking about the "lite" episode, or the full episode?
The lite episode involves some volleyball. The full episode explains the MC's past history with Chuuni and also about whats her face moving in, and stuff like that.

I'm not even noticing their trademark great visuals, will have to see if it get any better in that department.
It's not BAD, mind, but "I WANT TO HAVE THIS SHOWS BABIES!" is.... A bit of an overreaction?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntYeah, I assume that the OP will be a divisive factor for people.
Also the so-called lite episodes aren't counted, as they're aired at the website. I wonder if they'll include a compilation when the B Rs are released.
That, and I really love Chuuni characters <See avatar>
For the record, I skipped the OP entirely.

First glance tells me they wen't with the K-On style of excessive stretch & squish. It's great for those who like that art style because it makes movements look smoother than they really are but it's meh for those who prefer, say, the razor-sharp definition of Haruhi.
So yeah, the OP is annoyingly fast but also very cute. Especially the cat.
And I can relate with the main (male) character's embarrassing past soooo much. ;_;
This is the anime that will make me feel better about past...regrets.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.
Someone mentioned that, yeah, apparently you're supposed to watch the OP as if you were wearing an eyepatch yourself. It makes it less disorienting, but even then the OP is still fairly spastic.
I actually kind of like this. For the cuteness too. Oh well, I guess it's going to be a guilty pleasure.
Or maybe it's just that the over-the-top character VS the incredibly cynical character dynamic Kyo Ani seem somewhat fond of, still works.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Not exactly relevant, but please note that Kyo Ani has already revealed that, while basing the show on the first volume of the LN, that they're going with mostly original material for the production. Indeed, people who actually read the LN noted that the first episode only kept FOUR instances from the equivalent introduction parts.
Really? It'll be interesting to see how this turns out then.
Kyo Ani is generally better at anime-original content for adaptations though (see most of K-On's second season) compared to other companies. They don't really stand out like sore thumbs (like, oh, Campione's finale, which was just bad even for a non-LN reader).
First episode. Already loving this series. Will Chuunibyou become the next "moe?" We've already seen Steins;Gate have a Chuunibyou MC, and already Kono ... whatever it's called (that one anime with the sister that's trying to marry the MC) had a Chuuni minor character. Will Chuuni fever catch on? Will Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! be the new romantic comedy of the fall? WHAT IS IN STORE FOR ANIME FANS EVERYWHERE?!
My evil eye knows not!
