Duplicate Trope: Two Beings One Body

Sharing a Body makes this trope duplicate. Since the title Sharing a Body is less restrictive, I propose merging the examples and re-directing Two Beings, One Body to Sharing a Body.

Fixed the article tagging for you.

Thank you! I'm somewhat new to the trope repair shop. :)

Yeah, these are obvious duplicates. Merge.

Two Beings, One Body was originally Biological Mashup. It was just renamed and redefined at TRS. We might want to look at the old version of the trope to see if we overlooked something that really should be a separate trope.

I agree that as it stands, these are duplicates.

Maybe I'm misreading things on Sharing a Body, but the part in parentheses ("The one whose body it is may claim seniority, but enforcing it is a different matter") strikes me as being one singular body with two distinct characters (e.g. Alice and Bob live in Alice's body, and Bob is not a split personality but a separate entity altogether) whereas Two Beings, One Body is more like the picture on the page,

It wasn't actually redefined, only renamed. At least, in the current thread.

Well, the page image on Two Beings, One Body and the page image suggest to me a creature with two separate heads (and brains) in control of one body, which seems like a plausible subtrope of the more general Sharing a Body trope, which can also include pure spirits (non-biological) and the like.

But splitting off a subtrope like that would only work if we have enough examples for the subtrope.

This trope is really weird. From what I can tell, half the examples deal with people sharing bodies or both existing in one body, and the other half deal with creatures/characters who are intentionally designed to be a mix of two species. I propose returning to the name Biological Mashup and moving the "sharing bodies" examples to Sharing a Body.

creatures/characters who are intentionally designed to be a mix of two species.
If it's only one character/creature who merely appears to be a mix of two species, that's Mix-and-Match Critters and/or Hybrid Monster.

[up][up]Yeah, like Stratadrake said, those don't belong in Two Beings, One Body. The trope's just riddled with misuse that needs cleaning, which is why it got renamed.

"Merged Bodies" would make it clearer if we're shooting for a trope where different, distinct forms are merged into one. Other tropes cover the whole cohabitation or merging of personalities.

This page is a mess, though. Some of the examples are just Mix-and-Match Critters, and the page description still refers to the old name of Biological Mash Up.

You mean that part of the description never got the axe during the actual rename action? This is why renaming is more than just copy and paste.

Better also make sure Half-Human Hybrid, Mix-and-Match Critter, etc. aren't still screwing up the definitions of themselves and this vis-a-vis each other. I tried to correct those errors in the descriptions, but may have missed something. All three tropes may need cleaning for related misuse.

And the examples were never cleaned up at all? It sounds like the previous thread was closed way prematurely. Or else they were cleaned, and this misuse is all new...

And this is schizophrenic. It does not need two threads. Take the duplication issue to the thread linked above.
