Wait, what topic is this even for? There's nothing even listed.
Several threads with the same topic. It's Informed Species, and I added it. I'm also hollering to lock the other threads.
I agree with the suggestion. The difference is much greater there, while the Lion King example is easily guessable, and has more to do with art style than being different from the original.

Check out my fanfiction!Rafiki (?) looks quite a lot like a cartoon mandrill.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I like the proposition
As do I.

I reckon you could make it a little bigger — 250 to 300 — but other htan that I like it.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Way too grainy. How's this?
Yes, looks better.
#9 has resize artifacts (you didn't upscale it, did you?) and #10 has compression artifacts. #7 has neither.

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.This does need a caption stating they're the Beagle Boys, because Disney characters have widely varying names across the world (e.g. in Denmark and Sweden they're known as the Bear Boys for some reason). Other than that, good pic.
They look more like bears than beagles? "Beagleligan" doesn't quite roll off the tongue either. Also, isn't Snoopy a beagle?
Anyhow, #7 is the best version in my opinion, unless maybe if it's possible to get OP cut to the right size, as that's better quality than #10. You'd only need to crop a few mm.

Check out my fanfiction!Using both the original pics as is isn't possible since they're both PNGs...I tried and even with some judicious cropping the 2-panel is over the size limit. 10's the best I could do, and it doesn't have the detail loss of the first or the graininess of the second. If we only go with the OP, then it's fine as is.

I said in Ridiculously Cute Critter's thread that we could juxtapose real ponies with MLP:FIM ponies, but after seeing this thread I think that idea might be better to put here.
"[Mother Teresa] was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty." - Christopher HitchensI'm not at all sure if they're an example. They definitely don't require as big a leap as the Beagle Boys or Snoopy.
oops, in the case of Snoopy I meant that he's not readily recognizableas a beagle, not as a dog.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Agreed; the MLP ponies are very obviously horses, and I've always easily seen Snoopy as a dog, while the Beagle Boys (and, IMO, Goofy) are hardly identifiable as dogs.

Bump; any other thoughts?
Beagle isn't a species; the fact that Snoopy looks like a dog but not a particular breed isn't "informed species" exactly. He's an example, but not a good page image I don't think.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. What would make a good page image for this trope?
Right now the Beagle Bros. pic is the best option.
I agree with the Beagle Boys. Truth to be told, I went years without knowing what the hell they were supposed to be.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Yeah, +1 for Beagle Boys.
Yeah for the Beagle Boys!
The current picture is just a Mandrill that doesn't exactly look like a Mandrill in Real Life, but by that definition all cartoon humans would be Informed Species.
I would suggest a picture of the Beagle Boys
combined with a picture of actual Beagles
