For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Well, fuck. That was certainly... classy. Honestly, it was like comedically trashy, so much so that I had a lot more fun with it than I was expecting.
I wonder what a gender-flipped version by a female director might be like.
Glad it got ★★★.
Well, maybe prison ain't as bad as this movie portrayed it, if these two videos are anything to go by (it's a 2-part series):

i wrote a poem about Cool Cat. i can post it if theres interest.
I'd show some honest curiosity, but it has be something really special to even hold a candle to "Cool Cat Rap Master."
Anyway, tonight's feature presentation is a... Well, I'm not entirely sure what to call this, but it appears to be some kind of sendup of 1950's TV family sitcoms set in some kind of dystopian future where everything is a messy series of tubes. Ted Stevens would be proud.
The closest thing I can surmise to a plot is the "classic" sitcom premise of the family patriarch inviting his boss at the slime factory to join his family at home for dinner... Except, with a little late-80's "twist," the boss is a rude pervert who tries to make advances toward his loyal employee's wife. Hilarious hijinks ensue, I'm sure.
Starring my personal favorite actor, John Glover, a young Juliette Lewis, Richard Portnow... and small appearances from Anne Ramsey and Bobcat Goldthwait.
Written and directed by practical effects and makeup specialist Thomas Burman, whose work I'm sure would be recognized from some of his other credits (He even worked on The Manitou and The Thing with Two Heads!!!).
Here's Meet the Hollowheads (aka Life on the Edge)
COOL CAT POETRY SLAM!
Cool Cat is cool
He is a cool cat
He is real cool
He's where it's at.
He's very cool
And that is a fact
When he finds a gun
He knows how to act.
Name one other cat
That's cooler than he
Without his gun safety
Where would we be?
The shooting epidemic
Has but one solution
Cool cat is here
To bring resolution.
And that is why
Cool cat is so cool
He is so very cool
He is real cool

somethinghere it is though its not beating derek savage rapping. i forget which movie thats from though. the repetitive lines are part of the form
Cool Cat may save the kids but he doesn’t save me
He attacks slow, with tender paws
His enemies run from his horrific grimace
He talks in propaganda. He breathes his own fur.
He attacks slow with tender paws
He dies a little every frame.
He talks in propaganda. He breathes his own fur.
He weeps inside where no one can see.
He dies a little every frame.
His nature is Savage, his heartbeat fast.
He talks in propaganda. He breathes his own fur.
I drown in his violence.
His nature is Savage, his heartbeat fast.
He spits out machine gun words
I drown in his violence
I am screaming but he can’t hear me

My try...
Hell hath no fury,
Like Daddy Derek fucking a furry.
Unto thee, Cool Cat was born,
Try to block out the Derek Savage bestiality porn.
Cool Cat likes to boogie-woogie and dance the lambada,
And sip on lemonade with Eric Estrada.
He'll stand up to bullies from atop his squawk box,
And learn of self-empowerment from Vivica A. Fox.
But now there's a new battle to be won,
Cool Cat's making schools safe for guns.
Daddy Derek suggests you get your CCW,
And help fund his Indiegogo project, too.

Someone said this movie was only shown in 5 theaters.
Wikipedia claims this had a budget of $6.5 million, and for that money, it better have gotten some kind of limited release in a couple of major cities.
Alright, we're kicking off with more of How TV Ruined Your Life and take another look back at the Spitting Image classic segments from the Reagan Era: "The President's Brain is Missing."
Then, at the top of the coming hour, prepare to meet Gooby!

So tonight we have a late 80's (1990 release) sci-fi movie produced and filmed in Germany by Roland Emmerich (Yeah, THAT Roland Emmerich) before he moved to Hollywood.
And the B-list cast brought together for this one featured Michael Paré, Lisa Eichhorn, Brian Thompson (THAT Brian Thompson), Malcolm McDowell, and an uncredited Roscoe Lee Brown. Also appearing is one Dean Devlin who would largely leave acting and have a hand in producing all of Emmerich's Hollywood movies.
Our film is set on a futuristic mining site on some "unspecified moon" (Let's just call it "#44," I guess), and Michael Paré is tasked with grooming violent criminals and technical wizards into "a helicopter defense force" assigned to protect said futuristic mining station on the unspecified moon.
Welcome to Moon 44...
On the American East Coast? Stuck at home in snow? Time for us to warm the mood.
Wolf and Ship, I added a couple of your videos on the playlist to pre-show because I needed to pad things out, but we got more of Jerma (playing Condemned 2) and C.O.P.S.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, it's Roland Emmerich's Moon 44.

Snow day today. Even walked in it, but it was cold enough and snowing enough that I didn't make the walk especially long.
Tonight's movie was disturbing at times, even if most of it was essentially derivative sci-fi stuff.
So this is surprisingly unexpected: Bonsai picked out Pieces for tonight!
Written by the British, filmed by the Spanish, and scored by the Italians. Come for the logical absurdities, gaffes, and unlikely dubbed dialogue. Stay for the over-the-top, ball-bustin' violence.
NO NO NO NO! This is like THE trash slasher anyone who remotely considers themselves a horror nut should see. AND I CAN'T SEE IT TONIGHT!
This one film pretty much sums up the entire genre for me. Gory, misogynistic drivel complete with tacked on Freudian nonsense and a few great helpings of stilted, unnatural dialogue; one-note, stereotype characters; and, of course, chainsaws. What could possibly go wrong? How could this NOT be considered high art rivaling Bergman or Fellini?
Could I request that it be moved to this Saturday? Please? Pretty please? Pretty, pretty please with a cherry on top?

War is God.Okay, Pieces is being moved to Saturday. I'm staying home from work (no delayed opening sadly, but I woke up late assuming there'd be one and decided to just take the day off), so I'll look for ideas we can run tonight.
I'll let Bonsai and anyone else who is able to make it here tonight make the final call, but, yeah, a movie like Pieces would definitely be more fun to watch with Prom around.
EDIT: And just after I had PM'ed Bonsai. Cool.

somethingThere's a "Bad Quality" upload of Warhol's Empire on YouTube. That is permanently going on the playlist.
I wanted to post Matthew Barney's Cremaster 3, which I found on youtube a while ago. Looks like it's been deleted though.
I did find this clip though

somethingTonight's movie is an indie psychological thriller made on a $6,000 budget and given away for free by its makers: Bad is Bad
Trailer:
So we got Jerma, some assorted clips from MTV's Oddville from the late-90's, and C.O.P.S.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, Linda Blair would be desperate for Danny Trejo's "Survivors Guide to Prison" in Chained Heat.
