Does Not Illustrate: Amazon Chaser

Amazon Chaser (called Hot Amazon prior to a Trope Transplant) is about men being attracted to women because they're Action Girls, as opposed to Amazonian Beauty, which is about men being attracted to women because they're athletically built.

Now take a look at the image for Amazon Chaser and tell me which of those is being illustrated.

It's a great image, in fact I think it'd be better than the existing image on Amazonian Beauty (it actively shows someone fawning over her, as opposed to her just standing there being attractive). But having that image on the Amazon Chaser page just compounds what's already a confusing distinction.

OP makes a good argument however I must disagree somewhat. Amazoian Beauty is about the girl herself so it makes sense that the pic is solely about attractive bulky women. This trope is about the one attracted to the girl so it makes sense that there is a guy in the picture. The problem is that the action girl in question is an Amazonian Beauty. I'd suggest finding a pic that is off a similar nature to the one we have now but without the bulk action girl.

Counter-argument to that: Amazonian Beauty is a character that is "portrayed as attractive" because of (or despite) their physique, so having a pining guy in the background would make sense. It already has this image, though:

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

I think She Hulk makes for a better picture on Amazonian Beauty than Caitlin, if only because of the guy in the background. On the other hand, it really works for both pages, which may be a problem in itself.

[up]Very true (especially because she's actively beating a guy up, illustrating her Action Girl-ness)

But the most striking thing about both that photo and She Hulk herself is that she's big and muscly (hell, you just have to look at her name), so a more slightly built asskicker would be an improvement.

So, if we merge these two tropes, she'd make for the perfect image. grin

She's holding what appears to be an unconscious masked man. The admirer on the left appears to be holding a large loot bag. We can infer that this woman has just beaten up a would-be bank robber. I see a picture that illustrates someone admiring an action girl.

Like She Hulk. The other suggestion lacks the "Chaser" aspect.

It is not a suggestion...

I'm sure there'd be a scene in Mass Effect or maybe Buffy that illustrates this. Thoughts?

Never seen either of them, so you'll need to post several examples for me to judge.

I still think we should actually do something like that. IMO, we have one trope too many for the trope "neighborhood," which results in a lot of confusing overlap.

Proposal: Move the current She-Hulk pic to Amazonian Beauty, and use either this (preferred, but permission's needed) or something from this.

[up] Hmmm...I see your point, but I think the "warrior" comment and her size and build carry enough of the trope.

How about this? It's a gender-flipped Leg Cling, an illustration for Terry Pratchett's Sourcery.

Like the wondy design, the comic would be too small and the Leg Cling does not illustrate, I'm sorry, but it's the truth.

Would it be possible to remove the other version of Wonder Woman from that image? The thing that stops it working for me is that he has a choice between two versions of the same amazon and chooses the one who runs around in her underwear. If we can remove the other one it could work maybe.

Disagree with changing either image, they're both just fine as they are.

A character that's an Amazonian Beauty does not require an admirer to fit the trope. Just putting that out there.
