Stryker worked fantastically in X2 due to Cox's performance and the writing of the character allowed him just enough depth while still being a complete bastard.
Even a clunky Start of Darkness with the character would likely be better than the generic evil military guy stuff they went with in the Wolverine movie.

Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...First look at Bishop, plus some of the old cast in their swanky new black armour.
Bishop actually looks pretty damn cool with the dreads and red eyes. And that red cloak/cape thingee.
I liked Stryker in Origins.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Dinklage's casting is kind of ironically amusing, considering, IIRC, the actor who played him in X3 was just about as far from Dinklage physically as you could get...
"My black son, my black son..."
And it looks like future Wolverine is finally in a yellow and blue outfit [1].
Looks kinda yellow and black, which we've already had.
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again.Go away Wolverine, for the love of god...
Dinklage has a pimpin' moustache.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI'd love to share that sentiment due to Wolverine Publicity but then it wouldn't be very faithful to the original book, now would it?
We've got something on Sentinels now.
I love how even though Singer's maining this film, there's still the colour of First Class. It's like they learned something with that film and how it was an actually good X-Men movie after the previous two duds in the series.
http://www.longcriercat.deviantart.com I'm thirsty. Got any ink? Resident Pen Ward antagonist. Is it just me, or do they look kind of like Ultron?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I forget, wasn't the Striker in Origins the father of the one in the main series?
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiNope, same guy.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The Striker in First Class however, was the dad of the one from X-2.
The first teaser went out at SDCC.

Ha ha ha, suck on that, Kitty Pryde, your role has been WOLVERIJACKED.
Huh, no mention of Cyclops yet (or news of Marsden returning AFAIK). And here I was hoping they could finally give him some dignity back.
Wolverine sucks.
Thank you. Cause complaining about Wolverine is so new.

I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.Wolverine doesn't suck, but making the world spin around him does.
Not to rag on Kitty, but making Wolvie the lead makes sense. Aside from the extremely obvious reason, the Last Stand came out what? 8 years ago? Most of the audience probably doesn't remember much about that movie at all (aside from how much it sucked), much less the details about Kitty Pryde. I don't think they'd be invested enough in her as a lead to have her carry the entire movie.
I'm kinda sad we'll apparently miss the classic scene where the Sentinel fries him, since they need him to survive that assault if he's the one making the trip.
I'm tired of Wolverine being the main character of every X-Men movie, and this one looks like it will have far too many characters (including the multiple versions of some of them) to do anyone else justice. I have the very strong impression that Fox only decided to do this in order to set things up for more films with the original cast (as opposed to prequels) that would make more money. There were no plans for it before First Class surprised them by doing well.
90% of the reason I liked First Class was Magneto, so I was hoping for a second prequel movie that would develop him and Xavier more.
I think Fox just wants to establish its own mutant-verse to compete with Marvel's Most-Of-The-Rest-Of verse. In other words, it's like Marvel Comics at the 90s, when the X-verse was all but its own world and there was a myriad different titles there. Hence why now we're being hinted at things like a Deadpool movie, and a X-Force one spinning off this, and so on.
I think Stryker has kind of overstayed his welcome in this film franchise.
