Classical Just A Face And A Caption here. You can't even see licensed in the image, which is a key part of the trope.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUgh. Supporting pull.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Pull it. The caption is no better, btw.
+1 to pull; definitely worse than nothing.
I'd recommend someone 'shopping an image similar to the one used for Video Game Movies Suck - a list displaying the poor scores these games usually get in reviews.
EDIT: May or may not contain higher-scoring games to show that this doesn't always occur.

Why not have a image comparing a poor licensed game with its source side-by-side?
Because the trope is about low quality compared to other games, not low quality compared to the source material.
Moon◊But wouldn't showing the higher-scoring games defeat the purpose of the trope?
Maybe we should put two images - one for The Problem with Licensed Games with the lower-scoring ones, and another one for No Problem with Licensed Games with the higher scoring ones?
Pinball cleanup threadI'm thinking take a cue from Porting Disaster.
I screencapped and cropped Superman: The Man of Steel's Gamerankings rating. There's a bit of the issue in that some of the info is lost in resizing, but it still might work (Possible caption: at least it rated better than Superman 64).

That works, but I think you should enlarge the font on "beat-em-up" to make it clear this is not a movie.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I don't think Game FA Qs has pages for movies, so we're probably okay.
Moon◊"Xbox" is one of the few readable things, so I think we're doubly okay. Plus, movies don't have cheats.

Metacritic example - definitely a bit big, but notice the scores.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.@13: I wouldn't count that as readable for an illustration. If you have to search for the text, it's too small, especially since there's a lot of text. Also make sure to actually say which page it's from, since that's not clear.
Check out my fanfiction! But again, that's focusing on how the game is worse than the movie. We should be focusing on how the movie-based game is worse than non-movie-based games, right?
Moon◊I tried to do some other takes on that pic, but the ones I came up with were actually worse quality-wise IMO, so I'm good with the one that we have now.
Clock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
Yes, the ET game is one of the most famous examples for people of a certain generation. However, that is not evident from this little screenshot, which just shows the face of ET.
Motion to pull. Perhaps we could make up something comparing a movie shot with an in-game screenshot?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
