This is the Sign Up Sheet for We Are Our Avatars: Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Discussion page is here You don't really need to fill out all of it unless you want to. Mainly we need your name, deck, duel runner (if you want one) and affiliation (Signer or Dark signer). Note: we are not the Signers if we side with them, we just help them take out drones or other rogue duelists that may get in the way. This game starts right before Yusei goes to get to Jack, we are our characters who have been mysteriously transported here, yet we are accepted as citizens of New Domino City. There is no limit to how many players may join. Also even though our characters may not be from Yu-Gi-Oh we all have our decks automatically on our person. I still can't find a good avatar for my mental image of my character. I didn't really look very hard, though. I pretty much gave up after the first few searches failed to yield results.

Also, if this RP ever actually does get going, how is drawing cards going to be done?

EDIT: Hey btw, can we use cards from specific characters and in multiples? Like Stardust Dragon?

EDIT 2: Sorry for all the questions, does the character and the deck have any relation to each other or can they be different in theme?

Since it might take a while for The Answer to notice our posts, I guess I've got no choice but to try and be helpful.

Answer didn't mention any rules about not using cards from canon characters or theme, so if I were you I'd just post a sign-up now and make modifications as necessary.

Also, Answer, when you read this, consider clicking that little button down there near the bottom that says Add This Thread To Your Watchlist. Then you can just check your watchlist instead of having to find the thread in the Signups convo list.

Right, sorry. Takin' a bit of a break from TV Tropes to get my motorcycle permit but now that that's done I'M BACK! So time to answer some questions. Re Dead drawing is going to be done like how you would if you're playing against another player in person (just consider it Yu-Gi-Oh! by mail). Next Peldm: I don't care if you want to use other character's cards, Kaiba Corp wouldn't have just printed one type of that certain card (in fact that gets revealed to us in the story pretty quickly after we start. Next, nah. Your character and deck don't need to be related to one another, just use the cards that you're familiar and comfortable with (just look at me, I have a lot of cards that don't really go well together.) Finally I do watch this thread it's just I've been busy getting my motorcycle permit so I haven't really had time for TV Tropes, sorry. But I'm still very serious about getting this game up and running.

Also some of you maybe wondering "If I take monster or Spell/Trap card from my opponents graveyard or hand how can I use that card?" Well take a minute and either open up the Yu-Gi-Oh wiki and open the page for that monster and if possible print it out and add it to your hand or field if not just keep the tab open and try not to forget about it. As for the player who loses the card put it somewhere out of play (not removed from play/banished). Also when it comes to taking random cards from your opponents hand the owner numbers the cards in their hand (card #1, card #2, Card #3 etc...) and when the player selects one of the cards the owner sends a private message saying what the card is.

Are you sure about doing draws that way? That seems... kind of really easy to cheat. As I recall, there was a system that worked pretty well for the Frozen Academy RP, short-lived as it was.

From what I could understand, you number every card in somebody's deck, and then, whenever somebody duels, if it's two Players, then somebody not involved in the duel, but if it's an NPC and a Player, then just the GM, goes over to random.org and generates a number between one and however many cards there are in the deck, and that's which card gets drawn.

Does that make any sense? Did I explain it well?

This post explains the drawing system used in the various Yu-Gi-Oh!: X Academy RPs. You can ignore the GDoc, which is the deck enumeration for Yu-Gi-Oh!: East Academy, but it can give you a good idea about how numbered decks look like. Hopefully that helps clarify the method a bit.

Nothing. The GDoc is, as I've said before, the Deck Enumeration of the Yu-Gi-Oh! RP I run — Yu-Gi-Oh!: East Academy. You can disregard it.

I'm kinda sorta interested in this. One question before I sign up though: Will Turbo Duels (ones on Duel Runners) work like in the World Championship games or are they just regular CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLES?

Um, you'll need to expound on that, do you mean like we play the video game? Or we do it just like in the Anime TV show? I never played that game. so if you could explain what you mean that would be great.

Basically, in the game, Turbo Duels have a Field Card that is always in play called Speed World 2. It cannot be replaced by any other Field cards and counts as being played by both players, so they can both use the effects of the card. This is the card itself. And here is the listing of Speed Spells.

I would highly advise against doing it this way, namely because it will require everyone to have a second deck.

• Duel Runner: A very thin green Duel Runner which ends with an open snake's mouth, fangs and all.

• History: Boris Oura doesn't appear on any birth certificate. At least, none that are this man. His life revolves around trying to make people like him so that he can feel in control. This is done by giving advice and favours, to attempt to get them to owe him. He is very capable of sweet-talking his way around most conversations and is usually a very pleasant fellow. Y'know, until he needs to have someone do his dirty work for him. He is rather new to the tournament scene, or so he likes to say. His intentions seem to be about getting more people to assist him for future endeavors.

Does anyone think I was too hasty to say no Xyz monsters?

Well, the character I originally wanted to play uses a xyz deck, so I couldn't play him. That's why I'm still working on my character.

Though it's entiraly your choice, as you wanted a Yu-gi-oh 5D setting and xyz doesn't exist in that universe. Though you could make that the plot of the RP, how xyz have suddenly appeared. Would help me in character making.

What's going on with the thread? It doesn't appear to have any posts beyond the first 4, so are people actually going to post, or is this still in the dormant "collecting players" stage?
