I've never eaten ramen and never plan on it. There goes your "every troper's favorite meal" theory.
My ex really liked eating chocolate-covered ramen noodles, though, which is probably the most disgusting meal I could ever think of.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Never had it either, TBH.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgThe spicy Asian flavor is useful as an ingredient. I couldn't stand the bland-tasting ones when I tried them when I was younger.

A Team of Terrible People Eventually Make Us DecentWhy would you make a thread about something if you only wanted to talk sarcastically about it?

Instant stove top ramen is lovely too in that "cheap ass food" sort of way. I put fish sauce on mine after draining the water almost completely. A bit is left for the seasoning...
Ramen shops can serve some absolutely godly noodles though.
Personally I prefer pho and gwaytio nuea nam for my noodle soups though.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahAnd udon. That tastes really good.
Now using Trivialis handle.I have never been to Ramen shop... They don't have them in the ass end of Alabama :(
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgThe former is a Vietnamese thing. The latter a Thai dish. Thai noodle soups and rice soups are like the best things ever.
Or would be if fucking pho wasn't a thing. Oh my god Vietnam. Why do you have such awesome noodles and soups?
I really like udon too.
I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA.

Programming and surgery have a lot of things in common: Don't start removing colons until you know what you're doing.Nah, too many vowels. :p
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅHot And Sour soup kicks major ass in my opuion as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgRamen is at least solidly okay!
I'm convinced that our modern day analogues to ancient scholars are comedians. -0dd1Without ramen, there's a lot of people in the Navy who would voluntarily go hungry rather than eat what they serve us for chow. I on occasion am one of them.
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswSo for the unenlightened hungry people who have never eaten ramen, can anyone describe what it tastes like? I have a slight suspicion I wouldn't like it. I think I tried Miso soup once and thought it was terrible.
I did like Okonomiyaki, but that's a whole different thing.
Are these things like Bachelor's Super Noodles? You know, dried noodles with gunk on that you boil then eat? Preferably with a pork chop, in my book. Noodles aren't food on their own.
I've had them once or twice. They're ok if there's nothing else to hand.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I like to get the pork-flavored ones and add some ginger. And if I've got any pork left over from a previous meal (whether it be pork chops or a pork roast) I cut that into bite size pieces and stir it in.
It's not something I could eat for every meal, but it's not bad for something quick and easy.
I have yet to go to a proper ramen shop and eat proper ramen rather than just instant noodle stuff.
Stupid doomed timeline...Sounds like two-minute noodles to me.
Wanna see the random crap I get up to? Me neither. http://jesseskwilliams.tumblr.com/Ginger goes good with instant ramen.
Goes better with fresh rice noodles. Mmm...fresh rice noodles. Ginger, some beef broth, shallots, green onions, garlic, a bit of white pepper, sugar, lime, and fish sauce...Then whatever veggies and meat you want to add to it. Meat balls too if you can.
And in a separate pot you blanch those noodles after having let them soak.

Every tropers favorite meal, cheap easy and not healthy.
I prefer a spicy chicken and beef mix 2 pack ramen bowl, half drained.
