2012 London Olympics

I started watching late, but I don't like it so far. I don't listen to rock and don't know much about it, so most of the music (besides the obvious) was unrecognizable to me. I figured I wouldn't like it, since the closing ceremony is usually more boring than the opening ceremony, and to me the opening ceremony was pretty boring. Also I am fairly sure that the director of this thing is high.

Russel Brand. Please no. No "Pure Imagination" from you. Though the "I am the Walrus" was okay.

Spice Girls reunion. And the only thing I'm thinking of is Pegasus glee.

Well, this certainly makes up for inflicting "Imagine" on us.

Probably going to be my highlight of the ceremony.

I got korean tacos instead of watching the closing ceremonies. Felt like a better celebration of countries coming together, really.

Just when I thought I was done missing Freddie...

Wonder why they cut Spellbound and this part out:

Saw the whole thing on BBC with a proxy before hand. I'd give it 3 stars out of five.

Although I did watch the online stream of the Closing Ceremony beforehand, so it wasn't a total loss

Nope, and I was thinking the exact same thing while I was watching all kinds of awful bands represent our nation in front of the rest of the world. I was aching for an appearance from The Darkness.

Ladies and gentlemen, the internet presents: Mo Farrah running away from things

Back from London! Saw Women's 20km Walk and Men's Marathon. Was in Picadilly Circus for Mo's 2nd Gold.

So, Ireland got 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze. Equalling our result in 1956 making this a tie for our best Olympics ever! We beat GREECE!

Unless you count that time one Athlete got 3 Golds and a Bronze for Ireland.

But anyway, Closing Ceremony remarks: When I go to school, someone will say One Direction was the best part of the closing ceremony. My response will be "THE WHO AND FREDDIE FUCKING MERCURY WERE THERE, YOU ARGUMENT IS INVALID."

Hey, at least Ireland isn't hosting it, it would just be U2, The Script, Thin Lizzy tapes and some local acts.

Wait...Freddie Mercury?!

Okay, so it was a projected image of Freddie Mercury but it still stands.

Ah, ok. I was...concerned.

The world is lessened without Freddie Mercury.

I truly wish he had been resurrected for one last song right when a sixth of the world's population was watching.

It's a plot. He was pretending to be a projected image to allow him to come out of hiding without admitting he is not dead.
