I agree that it seems to be illustrating something different (and I think this image might actually be better for Madonna-Whore Complex than its current pic) and could probably cause confusion.
The first example that came to mind were Chloe and June from Dont Trust The B In Apartment 23. Here's one pic◊, which I think isn't bad but we could do better. Also, now that I looked at the work page's image◊ a variation of that might work well too.
If there are no other suggestions by tomorrow and the example is OK, I can probably take a more illustrative screencap from some episode.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Those aren't too bad; I definitely agree that the Sinfest pic that's on the page would work better on Madonna-Whore Complex.
I agree with the Sinfest image on Madonna-Whore Complex instead.
Madonna-Whore Complex is essentially White Feminine And Black Feminine, but doesn't need to apply to a contrast between two characters.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Yeah, the current image would be better in Madonna-Whore Complex. Good picture, just not the right trope.
And as a replacement I also nominate the first image of the OP.
I can't think of anything good for a signature.I support the first image in #2, and think the Sinfest image is far better than the current MWC image, which I can barely read.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. So I rewatched all 7 episodes but couldn't find a single frame that would have worked for the page. Anyway, here are the two images from my earlier post (the first pic cropped to just the girls, the second with Van Der Beek edited out and cropped down), both at 250:

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.The pic has been moved to Madonna-Whore Complex. Either of are good, but I lean toward the first just because the "dark" girl is kinda overwhelming the "light" girl in the second.
Those seem very "just two faces"-ey to me.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I think the clothes, postures, and expressions carry enough context for this case.
I agree. I think they give you enough context.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI think the top one in #7 doesn't show anything more than a dark and a bright girl. The bottom does a much better job of showing the personality traits.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I think both of them work well, due to posture, facial expression, etc., but I lean towards the first because they are given equal prominence.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Isn't the second one the wrong way round?
Also, from which manga is it?
Not a fan of either. The ones from post 5 seem much clearer and to the point.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerAgreed.
Post #5? There are suggestions in that one? It points to the "first image in OP", which also has no suggestions.
I think Haruhi/Mikuru works well.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Bleh, I meant post 7.
Haruhi/Mikuru seems particularly bad. Nothing says Light/Dark or gives any contrast. For all we know, it's Haruhi abusing Mikuru.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe pics from 7 are good, in particular the second. Haruhi/Mikuru doesn't work for me.
Because a hand on the shoulder definitely implies abuse. Especially with Mikuru leaning her head towards Haruhi. Please remove your fanon while evaluating the pictures.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I cannot have fanon in a show I haven't watched. Please don't make assumptions.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI like the 2nd in 7 because the dark girl is making an aggressive pose and the light girl is making a shy pose.
Presuming abuse is a Red Paint assumption, though. And yes, you can, but that's not relevant for the thread.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.red paint?
Crown Description:
Light Feminine And Dark Feminine
The pic works for the Madonna-Whore Complex I guess, but this isn't the same thing and it's going to make people think that it is.
